Came early morning on Saturday, got the seasonal double mint mocha and the lavender latte. The double mint mocha was very light on the mint, if you like it minty maybe ask for more mint. Ordered the Hipster Speedball, which is coffee mixed with whatever stout they currently have on tap. My husband and I opted to have a can of Ten Fidy mixed with coffee instead of the Bell's Double Cream Stout they had on tap. It made for a rich coffee forward breakfast stout and was absolutely delicious. Brew has a well thought out can and bottle selection, four beers on tap, coffee, wine, and mead. So happy Brew decided to go into Five Points. They'll always serve Bold Bean espresso but their other coffees will rotate out with roasters from other states. They have a long list if specialty sodas. Other reviews have already mentioned the toast they serve. Partnering with Community Loaves and Dig Foods. My favorite is the goat cheese, arugula, kimchi on rosemary garlic toast. It's pretty toasty, I mean tasty. I'm always a fan of a "deviation from the standard Starbucks" coffee shop. Chains can be great and all, but I love coming across something that's new and local and not overrun by millennials but still popular within its own right because it's just damn good. That's what BREW is. My friend who lives over in the riverside area introduced me to this place and I was like "what?? It's been next to motion Sweets this whole time?!". Shame on me. But now I know and I want to make sure I alert others to the fact that this place is somewhere they should definitely stop for coffee. I got the vanilla bean latte and that is a good espresso they're using as the base of that latte. It was strong with a deep flavor but it wasn't unpleasant as espresso can be at times. It still allowed the other flavors to come through and make it enjoyable. Plus I always love when they take the time to add a design in my foam. It was a swan before I ruined it (how'd they know I love swans though?? *cue X-Files music*). This is another place with communal/community type seating which I'm starting to really like more and more. Gives you an opportunity to meet someone new. I hadn't tried any of the baked goods and I may or may not give them a try but I'll definitely be back for another cup of coffee and maybe snag a seat to read a book. read more

Came here Friday morning and I really loved it. I came around 9 AM and there is no wait or no parking problems. I ordered a cappuccino and the quiche of the day. I sat inside and there was plenty of seating it was a very relaxed environment. I noticed this place is also a bar so I will have to come back and check it out. However, as for my breakfast, it was delicious! My cappuccino was beautifully decorated with a heart and the taste was just as good as a cappuccino from Italy ! I really love how they didn't just cut me a piece of the quiche and give it to me on a plate but they took it back to the kitchen and gave me a very nice fresh salad along with it. It made for a complete meal which really made me start my day off feeling good . I've always liked the concept of BREW. Hole in a wall cafe that serves killer tapas food. Tacos, toast, pastry and they also serve beer! No doubt about this place's ability to provide great product but their customer service is where I wish had become more warm and welcoming. I've been to this place a lot of times and always been quite satisfied with my orders but there's always been something off that I couldn't pinpoint. I wasn't really paying attention until today and realized there's a disconnect with the crew and the customer. I came in this afternoon and they are talking amongst themselves, so I wait briefly until they acknowledge I'm there. If I can explain this right with words, but there's this "we're just too good" vibe going on with the interaction. The kind of feeling that will intimidate new comers or people that are not used to the "specialty coffee" or "crafts." No negative were used just the body language. It's just too neutral like I'm almost a bother with their conversation. I ordered espresso, I was given an option "for here" and was served in a take away cup and wasn't as good. Why? A small coffee shop and bar that is off the Main Street of 5 Points, it is a cozy space that is perfect for brunch or a cold beer after work. I came for breakfast, and the sun was warm on my back as I entered the doors. You walk up to the counter to order, and in my case I chose the cappuccino with salty caramel syrup and the blueberry-pecan French Toast bake. The young man was friendly and made sure I was aware of the coffee sizes. The Bake was huge, but I finished it all off. It had a cream sauce layered on top with a side of maple syrup to drizzle over. You could taste the freshness of the blueberries and the crunchiness of the pecans. What bad service. Went there for coffee and pastries fairly early, It wasnt that busy and got the worst service ever. We had two orders, a smaller one, and a second larger order. The first small order for my daughter was okay. The second order they brought out a few of the edibles, but then ? lost ? their way and didnt bring out any of the other 3 drinks and edibles. When I asked them, after waiting politely for 20 minutes, they said, oh, we will get you those items. But They made most of the drinks wrong, and items were still missing. Evidently they didnt believe me that I had not got all my drinks and they checked their receipts, before finally making them for me and my daughters. They still made the drinks wrong. Worst matcha ever. My daughter had her coffee drink remade and it was a bit better, but I hadn't realized that my drink was made badly in trying to get everything ordered. For a Saturday Brunch, my friends and I decided to check out this place. It is not your typical dine-in restaurant,. You place your order at the counter and go find yourself a table. I am okay with that concept. The menu was very interesting with catchy names. We ordered a Basic Bitch (avocado mash on a slice of toast), Dirty Gardener (Kale and Hummus on Toast) and their spring special Charcoal Lavender Latte. I really liked the Dirty Gardener, the hummus was delicious and the kale was roasted to perfection. I am not a kale person but this certainly changed my opinion on it. I was excited for the Basic Bitch, given I am an ardent fan of Avocados, but was utterly disappointed. It wasn't seasoned well and was almost tasteless. We wanted to try the "Forever in Blue Jeans", which is a dessert toast with peanut butter, bananas and dark chocolate, but were told that they were out of bananas. Such a bummer! The Charcoal Lavender Latte was probably the best of all, although none of us could taste the Lavender. But it was a good Charcoal Latte. Overall, we had an Okay experience. BREW is a pretty cool place. There's always a lot of movement and people popping in and out. The seating is communal like-3 large tables with chairs at them. So if you come and sit down you'll be sitting next to someone you may not know, if it's busy. I always get the teas and the selection is good. There are usually people at the bar. They have beer if you're interested in that. When my friend and I were there yesterday a bomb went off every few minutes because of the theatre right beside the space. So literally it was like we were in a movie set. One thing I really love about BREW is they allow artists to show (and sell) their work in their space. It keeps the walls decorated with something new and it gives artists opportunities. read more

The coffee is very good, too: my preference is either black or as oat milk latte. I don't think there is a single negative thing about BREW. The granola was good with their oat milk, but the mimosas are $7 dollars each which is outrageous especially since they use Publix OJ and cheap champagne. Really I could go to Mellow or across the street to Hoptinger for their bottomless mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice for less than 2 of Brew's crappy mimosas. My girlfriend order the Hippy Toast which came with cold kale that looked like it was saved from yesterday's service and when she asked for some kale that was actually warm- they said they'd redo it with a shitty attitude. FYI- any discounts that are on their Yelp page for checking in are complete BS because they claim it was a special months ago and they will not honor it. BREW used to be a fun local spot to get coffee or a beer, interact with friends, and have a decent breakfast but now it's filled with rude employees and an owner that doesn't care about her customer's breakfast being warm or not. Serve your own water, get your own silverware, and walk to the front of the store to get your own sugar when their is bar service. WILL NOT BE BACK AGAIN! read more

This place is great and a great addition to the 5 points area. I tried a salted chocolate chip cookie and lavender green tea. It was a perfect combo and you can tell the cookie was of a great quality. I appreciate the diversity of drinks they have. It's pretty cool that you can get beer and a good cup of coffee at the exact same place. Their laid back atmosphere allows for a optimal place to read/study during the daytime hours. Though, at night the place becomes an optimal spot to get a quality microbrew and snack. They have a food menu, but I have not had a chance to try it yet. Also, the staff is pretty cool and attentive. I did not give it five stars due to a couple of things. The bathroom could be cleaner, it needs to be checked and delt with more often.
