Unfortunately today I had a rude wake up call when my banker and I discovered that the had been fraudulently charged for $349 three times, twice on the same date. When showing my bank statement to the secretary, she only said "hmm, that's interesting.". I asked her to please look into this as I cannot afford a $1000 loss, and she told me that yes, the mistake was due to their billing software but no, she didn't think I would get any money back. Design Dentistry is not an honest practice and so unapologetic about causing such stressful, fraudulent business.

I point out internet is not required to do a cleaning and I'd already taken time off work and hired a sitter can't they take notes on paper? They tell me they can't check people in or out so they just can't. Seems problematic. I call work, cancel the sitter (who was annoyed I canceled so last minute) only for them to call and say it's back on. Call work, beg the sitter... only for another call saying never mind the internet isn't reliable. I repeat my point is about the internet and am told they cannot do a cleaning without an X-rays because of liability issues. This is a lie. I am pregnant, I couldn't get an X-ray anyway! Do they not do cleaning for pregnant people? I've had cleanings for every pregnancy, even at a dentist I'd never seen before. Dishonesty really gets me--more than this annoyance for me, my work, and my babysitter who probably won't take my calls again after all this.

The QUALITY of work they did AND GOT DONE IN ONE AFTERNOON was outstanding! I was pretty comfortable within about five minutes into my first consultation appointment. As a first time patient, Dr. Recore did not attempt to "upsell" me, and created a great plan for me to love my smile (and within a budget I did not share with her)! During my appointment, I didn't feel a thing (yes I used the gas) and I am a very sensitive baby when it comes to my mouth!! I put in my headphones and listened to my music and went off into my own world and they did their thing! Dr. Bardeloza Did my root canal and this was the best root canal experience I've had (and I've had a lot of root canals from various dentists). I'm leaving this review the day after and I don't feel any discomfort!! I can't even tell I had any work done!!! Christie did my temp crowns for me on my front top teeth (I have been so conscious of those teeth ) and she did BEAUTIFUL work (she tells me the permanent crowns are gonna look even better!!!) my father was a longtime patient of the previous owner and 25 years ago, My son went in after breaking his top front tooth. They were able to build his front tooth back up and he still has it to this day (not once has it broken off!). Going in as a first time patient to new ownership gave me nerves, but they settled them immediately (it's such a nice and comfortable environment with the staff, everyone is really kind). I am 50 years old and for the first time in my life, I am excited to start seeing a dentist to fix everything needing to be fixed and actually doing preventive care! Someone cleans them. You leave with clean teeth. There are forms, certainly. There is insurance. There is the small paper bib attached to your shirt with a chain that makes you feel like an enormous baby about to eat lobster. But underneath all of this is a reassuringly simple premise: the teeth are dirty, and then they are not. They began with X-rays. After that, a woman poked at my gums with a tiny metal instrument while quietly calling out numbers to another woman. Two. Three. Three. Four. Five. I had no idea what the numbers meant, but understood instinctively that five was not good. Eventually I was informed that I would need a "deep cleaning." This sounded fine. I had come for a cleaning, and if they wished to clean deeply, I was prepared to admire their thoroughness. Unfortunately, they couldn't do it today. The receptionist, I was told, would arrange another appointment for tomorrow. This was mildly disappointing, but reasonable. Apparently my mouth required the sort of cleaning that needed to be scheduled in advance. There was, however, one other thing. I had a cavity. A small one. My insurance would cover it. This information was delivered casually enough that I regarded it as something we were discussing for the future. Perhaps tomorrow, during the excavation. Then someone reclined my chair. There are moments in life when events begin moving just slightly faster than your ability to question them. A person is telling you something, another person is putting something in your mouth, and suddenly half your face has ceased participating in the conversation. Before I had quite worked out what was happening, there was a drill. It was remarkably quick. It didn't hurt. And a few minutes later I was standing at the reception desk with a newly filled tooth and the pleasant, rubbery sensation that my lower lip belonged to somebody standing several feet to my left. This was when the receptionist explained that my insurance would not cover the deep cleaning. It would cost thirteen hundred dollars. I declined. And so I walked out of the dentist's office in the peculiar position of having gone there for a cleaning, received a filling I hadn't expected, and left with precisely the same amount of uncleaned teeth I'd brought in. On the way home, I kept running my tongue over the numb side of my mouth, checking periodically to see whether it had returned to me. Eventually it did. Nothing hurt. The filling felt perfectly normal. In fact, as dental experiences go, the procedure itself had been almost pleasant. It was only the sequence of events that bothered me. Somewhere in the space of an hour, I had entered a building asking for one thing, been told I needed a more expensive version of that thing, declined the expensive thing, and emerged having received an entirely different thing. My teeth, meanwhile, remained patiently dirty. Presumably they had been watching the whole operation. They must have wondered what I was doing there.

My appointment wasn't until February. I was not told we were out of network until after my appointment in February that way they could get money for both my daughter and myself. I should have been notified after my daughters appointment in November. When I asked why they didn't inform me until after both appointments months apart she didn't have an answer. Instead I got another copy of the bill and a passive aggressive answer on why they did not have to tell me prior to my appointments. Any business that takes your insurance prior to appointment but doesn't tell you that you are not in-network is more about the money than the customer.

I also found my costs exceedingly less bc they are in my insurance network than the costs my wife's extractions and implant has cost (we did not know we were out of network at the time). I feel that I am in good hands with Biemcare with what I researched and my experience today.

When my insurance…read morechanged I decided to leave Distinctive Dental try out a different dental practice closer to my house which was a big mistake. The other dentist (NOT distinctive) did a filling that they not only trapped blood behind, but also left a massive amount of excess composite that went passed where the tooth meets the gum and essentially made a spear slicing into the inside of my cheek. I could fit a fingernail between the excess material and the gum above my tooth. I was in a ton of pain from the resulting ulcer on my cheek and the headache from dental pain. I called distinctive and was able to get an appointment very quickly. While Dr. Kim and the assistant remained incredibly professional, they seemed surprised and were very empathetic that I was left with a filling in the condition I was. They ensured I was fully educated on my options and involved me in the creation of the treatment plan. At the first appointment they removed the excess material to ease my pain and allow the soft tissues to heal. When I went back for the repair, we had initially thought a crown was necessary, but Dr. Kim was able to successfully repair with a new filling. They could've said the significantly more expensive crown was still necessary and I wouldn't have known better, but they chose better care over making money. The procedure itself was also miles better than my experience with the other dentist--the other office had forcefully pulled my cheek away as far as possible in an attempt to access the affected back molar, while Dr. Kim gave me instructions on how to hold my jaw so he could see. He also checked in frequently to ensure I was doing okay. He also took multiple photos throughout the process so I could actually see what he was talking about, and the before and after difference was night and day. TLDR: incredibly kind and compassionate staff that truly puts patient care over profit and ensure the patient is fully informed and involved in their treatment plan. I highly recommend!
