I want to preface this by saying I don't write many reviews. You can see my profile. Maybe 5…read moreplaces? Anyway, I want to keep it real with yall, so excuse my lack of proper grammar at times. I feel that's what makes reviews more appealing anyway. Well, here's my review: At first, I was quite worried. I showed up at 1230pm, wanting to seek a new patient in-take, even after these terrible reviews some of you left behind. They weren't there. They have weird hours, that I hadn't known until after walking up to the door. I could've called! They explain that, yes 110% do, in their voicemail! Anyway, I waited and ended up scheduling an appointment within a month (back in May, for June). Side note: the staff, WAS IN FACT, very friendly. Are they quiet? Maybe. I'm also loud and obnoxious sometimes. Anyway, they were VERY friendly. If you want to have a conversation with them, walk up and get their attention. They've been in the back room (I think) and I said "Ehm! Excuse me. I had a quick question!" They came to answer, IMMEDIATELY! Fast forward to mine and my wife's appointments: I had a cap and one filling, which took MAYBE an hour? They gave me prescription for anxiety. It worked wonders. My insurance covered a lot of my work. I have 2 more appointments until all my planned work is done. (They don't do it all in one! Thankfully. I couldn't imagine getting fillings and caps all at the same time). Also, the back area is very open concept. There's privacy between rooms, though they're very open. Wasn't a big deal to me! On top of this, I HATE X-rays and gag, pretty much every time. During my in-take, the girl that did mine assured me she'd be quick and accurate! MY LANTA, BRO!!! She was FAST. I don't think I had the xray things in my mouth longer than 5 seconds at a time. First time I've EVER left the dentist without sores in my mouth. Praise y'all for that! My wife's went well! The filling was a little rough. When addressed, they made room for her to come in and fix this issue immediately! I was THOROUGHLY impressed. They took care of it and my wife was so stoked! She's looking forward to the next THREE that they were able to schedule in July, same with my next one. Fast forward to present day. They only operate M-Th. This is fine as they except LATE appointments. In fact, Dr. Brady Smith made an Instagram post about them working 2, 17 (I think it is) hour days and having the rest of the week off! Anyway, today, I went to call and schedule for my kiddos to get into the office for in-take appointments and they said, "we are booked in July, however August is pretty open." So, I'm unsure why anyone would say they wouldn't allow to schedule more than a month out. Take the appointments you can get. Dentist offices haven't been the same since COVID. ALL things considered, I couldn't be more happy with choosing this office! Dr. Brady Smith and co., you all have done amazing! Thank you for taking our family in, on such short notice. Also, thank you for having such a fun, and chill environment.

The staff was exceptional. The office is beautiful and clean…read more I presented with a cracked tooth, which fortunately had had a root canal prior, so I was not in pain. I simply wanted the chip of tooth removed as it was loose and made it difficult to chew. My intent was to schedule an appointment to have a crown seated at soon (but later) date. They took x-rays relating the tooth in question and two other teeth, both of which had had implants done years earlier. When Dr. Woyciehowsky came in, it was immediately apparent that he was in a hurry. There was the minimal of verbal pleasantries, then a glance at my tooth, and the news that the tooth had chipped and was still attached to gum tissue. He told me that I would need to make an appointment for next steps as it was late in the day. I kindly reminded him that I had a 45 minute appointment and he said "It's late in the day; I can't keep the staff here". I repeated that the only reason I had come in was to have that bone chip tended to. He begrudgingly said he would take care of it. He was so rushed that it was unnerving. He was speaking quickly and his tone and maner were flip and glib. With concern about his overall demeanor, I ask about being numbed; there was nothing gentle about his touch. He said there wasn't time, and that by the time the lidocaine was administered, he would've already been able to remove the tooth chip. I asked him if he wouldn't mind putting some numbing gel on my gums. He said that numbing gel wouldn't make a difference. I worked in oral surgery for three years. Numbing gel (aka: Lidocaine and prilocaine periodontal gel) deadens the nerve endings in your gums. It takes literally seconds to work and would have provided his new patient with comfort. He declined my request. Dr. Woyciehowsky told me I would only feel some thing similar to the pinch you feel when you receive an injection in your gums. It took him a few turns/tugs to get the tooth chip detached from my gums. It was not painful, but it was uncomfortable, and it was a bit scary as I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. No one offered anything for the bleeding; and when I asked, they gave me a Kleenex. I asked for gauze as it was bleeding, quite a bit. When I initially scheduled with his practice, I had explained that I was looking for a new long-term dentist and that I wanted someone who was kind and compassionate. Dr. Woyciehowsky demonstarted neither of those traits. The 15 minutes he gave of his time left me both disappointed and at ground zero with regard to now having to find a new dentist. I am a friendly, positive and happy person. I treat people with dignity and respect, always try my best to do the right thing, and have simple, basic expectations of others. I rarely let things bother me, but found myself getting home (a 2-minute drive) still surprised by the outcome of my visit to Camas Dentistry, and writing a negative review.

At no point prior to or during the consultation was he informed that they were out of network with Delta Dental, one of the largest dental insurance providers. It wasn't until the end of the appointment that he was presented with a $600 bill for the consultation and informed that the procedure would require over $2,600 out of pocket. Having worked in the dental field for over 10 years, I was very surprised and disappointed that the out-of-network status and expected out-of-pocket costs were not clearly explained in advance. Financial transparency is extremely important, especially for a college student working part-time and paying for his own care. Patients should be given the opportunity to fully understand their insurance coverage and financial responsibility before services are rendered. I contacted the office and requested a call back from the doctor/owner to discuss whether this may be a training or communication issue that could be improved to prevent similar situations for other patients. Unfortunately, it has now been two weeks, and I am still waiting for that call. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and improves its communication and billing transparency for future patients.
