This was a little cute place, that recently opened. I heard about the place from a couple of my chef friends, and my sommelier friend who loves wine, so we went together as a group and wanted to check out the concept and how Twisted Fork turned into a wine bar at night.
We checked out the IG before going and see their branding and what they offered. People were raving about a couple of their menu items, like the wagyu hotdogs and the caviar with champagne. Cute, as there is no proper wine bar that offers such a hilarious selection. And they have 20 food items all under 20$ accompanying their wine of the evening at the little establishment.
Me and my friends arrived around 10pm, a little bit later than most places, and since we knew they were open late, we came with a little bit filled stomach, and just wanted some light bites, while checking out their wine selection. Note: because they don't take reservations, if it is full, you will be waiting to be seated, do not be surprised.
We were seated at a good spot, and once we got comfortable, the staff greeted us very well, and welcomed us with open arms to see what we wanted for the night. There was a plate of chips for my group as we sat down. They have an extremely extensive list of wines from all around the world. My friend was surprised and need a couple of minutes to look over the wine menu before ordering. My sommelier friend got us started on a fantastic bottle of Orange Wine from the vineyards in Greece, the Troupis Skin Contact. A fantastic way to start off the night for sure.
The food menu was adorable, and it was filled with a lot of small bites. After looking at the menu now, I wish I had ordered a couple more food items for the night. I would recommend the following on their food menu: Le Petit Chapeau Pate en Croute, Ensemble of Shrooms, Potato Pave and maybe their Bone Marrow. But instead, me and my friends went with the basic Wagyu hotdog (The Bandit). I liked the hot dog, but I wished the smoky mini onions were a little bit more caramelized but that was fine IMO.
As the night progressed, we got the champagne & caviar to see the hype and their selection. It was a fun thing to do to be honest with friends for a celebration and it was cute to see it happen with my and my friends. Would recommend and do again in the future. And our final bottle of wine for the night was the 1er Cru natty pinot noir. A fantastic bottle to end of the night with that beautiful flavour of oak wood and beautiful fall roasted nuts flavour. Enjoyed my night here at Breeze Bar with my friends. For sure will recommend to at least try once with some friends! read more
