Young waitresses are spending way too much time at tables carrying long conversations while customers are waiting. This place can stay busy if they learn the hustle. Service more tables in a shift you get more tips. I guess they don't understand that math. We left a nice tip even though we didnt feel she earned it. She forgot my husbands gravy for his chicken fried steak and when we asked about it again she said, "Fa real?" and blamed it on the person who brought the food who said the gravy was coming. I think it was her responsibility to follow up on if we had everything, but the long conversations with other customers got him through half his meal before she finally came. It finally came half way through his meal. This all sounds petty but businesses will survive when they listen to reviews and fix the issues. We'll give them another try one day and see what happens. Oh I do love the Christian vibe but music is a bit loud.

This cafe is simple but sooooo nostalgic, from the years of untouched decor to the down home vibes, this what Louisiana culture is all about, I love that there are so many folks that frequent this cafe that still speak the cajun french I grew up with and the food is off the chart and there's no doubt the kitchen loves dishing out traditional cajun cuisine, after all these years this place still has the magic. As soon as our server sat the bowl of grits on the table I knew we were in for something special, there's an art to preparing and serving them that so many places just can replicate - the omelette was amazing I was so torn on what to order because I wanted some of everything. Our server Laice was amazing although this was the first time we met she treated us like neighbors now that's definitely Louisiana hospitality. You'd be hard pressed to beat the atmosphere, the food or the exceptional customer service it just goes to show there still some authenticity if you know where to go - this will definitely be my go to breakfast place when in the area...

We've had many birthdays, baptism parties and even a funeral gathering here. That said, this was our go to place for a good 5 years, but with the management change (Jeremy is apparently gone as are nearly all the staff that was there for years) and us never seeing Ema, things went downhill. The last few visits had issues and when the last issue happened I ask to speak to the manager. To my surprise, and despite only a few tables of people the manager was "not able" to talk to us. We waited and after about 10 minutes left to never return. I can't recommend this restaurant any longer but there are many new options and if you watch my Top 100 you'll find at least 4 or 5 other excellent restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Sorry Ema, but you've let this place go.

The sandwich looked identical to our order + drink ($11.54 + $1. 21 tax=$12.75). We paid $12.75 no chips, compared to $10.99 + $1.21 tax= $11.20 for the Boardwalk special which includes chips. Low rating is because employees aren't trained to automatically provide the lowest price to the customer, or even let the customer know that chips can be included for $1.50 less. And, when asked later about the price difference of the special bundle & not sharing that with us, we were not offered a complimentary (which we clearly paid for) bag of chips. Jersey Mike's product seems no better than Subway or other area fast food restaurants, in particular when comparing coupon prices or specials. The interior has a cute vibe & nice employees but it's not sufficient to compel us to return to this store given our personal experience.
