In addition, I highly recommend signing up for Steve's small group - circuit fitness program. I find it's perfect for keeping me motivated and committed to working out! I like the variety offered at Progress. There are two floors filled with cardio equipment and weights (both free and machines). Plus the "loft" design creates an open feel to the environment. While, I tend to balance out my workout week with Power classes and Centergy (similar to pilates/yoga) classes, I especially love to relax in the sauna after a long work week!

The instructors all care so much about the kids and in teaching them dance and instilling a love for it. They have an amazing dance team and also provide recreational classes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear to me how much they they are willing to go above the beyond. They provided the kids with online zoom dance classes, challenges, spirit days, socially distant one on one dance pictures in the park, and even planned a virtual recital! This time has been so tough on kids and I really value all they have done to provide some normalcy for the kids. Normally parents are not in the room during class (there are monthly watch weeks on the studios TVs), but with classes over zoom I have gotten to watch more of the class and can also speak to what a good job they do with the insurrection and keeping the kids engaged while having fun. Highly recommend!

I had some limitations due to an injury to and replacement of my hip so, while I was very motivated, I wasn't sure whether I could take full advantage of the program. I was so wrong. Not only did I drop about 40 lbs., I also got to a point of fitness that I never imagined given my limitations. I had been a gym rate before doing mostly spinning and the treadmill and some boot camp classes. It was boring but I did enjoy it. I had never done any real cross training like I did with Bob and once I started, he had me so motivated and driven, I wanted to do everything to my fullest potential. And it was SO fun! He was extremely knowledgeable about how to handle working around injuries and was also able to modify most exercises so that I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. He listened to me and I trusted that he wasn't putting me at risk for any injuries. He was so invested in my success that I didn't want to disappoint him. The studio is neat and organized and the bathroom and shower is clean. I like that there is only 1 other person in the studio. For anyone looking to be healthy, whether for weight management or to optimize your fitness, this is the place to go. We don't have a lot of options in our area and even if we did, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Can't wait to go back now that I've had my surgery!!!

I took…read moreone of their introductory training specials and realized that one-to-one personal training was a great match for me, and that I was ready to make the investment in my own health. In the short time I have been there, almost 1 month, I have already noticed a significant improvement to my fitness and energy level, and I have lost 5 pounds. (Hopefully, just the beginning!) The trainers are highly skilled and excellent. I have worked with Krista, John and Resa, and they all make the workouts fun, yet challenging with a mixture of aerobic and weight conditioning customized for me. The hour flies by! There is no problem switching between trainers based on my schedule. They are very flexible about this. The facilities are excellent and always clean. It's convenient for me to workout, take a shower, and then head to the office - starting my day in a healthy manner and giving me an energy boost for work. I found this is also helping me cope with increased stress levels from my work. I am sure I am not the only one who finds themselves too busy to workout in a "normal" gym environment. Making an appointment to workout with a skilled trainer appeals to me, as it forces me to show up, just as I would for a doctor or dentist appointment. Knowingly myself, this is really the only way I can fit a workout into my busy schedule. Personal training is not an inexpensive option, but how does one put a price on having higher energy for work and family, losing weight, and hopefully living a longer and healthier life? Rather than always giving, sometimes you have to make a choice to invest in yourself. I feel this has been the right choice for me, and I highly recommend BodyScapes to others if you find yourself in need of extra motivation to get to the gym and workout consistently.

Liz and the other yoga instructors at Advanced Health Massage and Yoga have helped me find a new way of stretching and relaxing that has changed my life! I'm a 51 year old, male runner with ridiculously tight hamstrings, hips, and IT bands like every other older (male and female) runner I know. After a stress fracture side-lined me for 6 months, my physical therapist told me that if I wanted to run for years to come with minimal or no injuries, that I would need to do yoga. My PT warned me against impersonal gyms, killer to follow DVD's, and large centers. I would need specialized, hands-on training from a smaller, more patient studio. Liz, and the other instructors at Advanced, have been perfect for my needs, and the strength and flexibility I've seen in just three months has already helped me lower my 5K race times and I sleep and wake up more comfortably. They mix just the right amount of meditation and stretching in a quiet and calming atmosphere. It was also hard to beat their $20 for 20 days new member special. I went 8 times over the 20 days for only $20! Of course by then I was ready to sign up for the 10x card which makes the prices of a session only $12.00 Again, hard to beat. Prior to opening her center, Liz worked for several years as a massage therapist in a local chiropractic practice and offers shiatsu and cranio facial massage, and what I would term sports therapeutic massage. Lots of stretching out and aligning my body correctly, and solving issues with areas that are just chronically sore and bowed in from stress, like my shoulders and neck. And since Liz knows me from yoga class, she has real insight into my needs and issues. I would highly recommend you check out Advanced Heath Massage and Yoga if you are in the greater Billerica area. Also check out their Facebook page, that's actually how I decided on this yoga center. The comments there gave off a really pleasant vibe.

While I've always had a heavy bag you don't need any experience, and if I'm an example you're probably better off! I decided to give this place a try when I saw the "old school" fitness on the website. Fad diets will come and go, but honest hard work is always the answer. Yes it hurts to type it out.. Still true though Upon arriving I was greeted by Jim, and it's no mistake that his professional nick name was "Gentleman Jim". He showed me around, asked me some questions, and before I knew it he was already laying down an educational foundation. Being a newbie I forgot the schedule, and I accidently showed up during the one of the youth classes. He could have kindly asked me to come back in hour. Instead he showed me an area where I could begin to work, and not interfere with the kids time. It was during this time where I was in another room listening. Yes Jim has a business to run, and I'm sure those classes help that business, but make absolutely NO MISTAKE about it! That class was 1000% PASSION DRIVEN. Listening to Jim teaching those kids was an absolute joy, and I'm glad that I was able to be a part of that. We should all be so lucky to have something in our lives that we have that much passion in. When you decide to give this gym a try I have one small favor to ask. It's simple: just observe and listen. As people come in and out of the gym you will hear Jim call them all by their name. While remarkable in itself it really drives home that when you walk into his gym he is welcoming you into his home, and sharing his passion with you. I guarantee you will be grateful you decided to do this for yourself.
