Do you like discos, night clubs, and roller-rinks? The thrill of the disco ball, the pump of sweaty…read moreEDM without the drugs, the flashing lights that distract you from the inability to breathe with the right side of your lung. Well, come on down to Collective Studios for the stationary bike ride of your life. Located quite literally next to a Planet Fitness in Londonderry, this upscale studio won't be serving slices of greasy pizza to people (like myself) pretending to workout on machines that are covered in Covid 37 and divorce. This is not your usual "I went to the gym for an hour, but I'm going to count my time in traffic as gym time" workout. The ladies of CS bring the Burn (or Flow) each and every class. As someone who enjoys exercise in concept only, I found myself being lapped by every single one of my classmates. I was a three legged horse at the Kentucky Derby, my only solace being the impending glue factory. That being said, my social anxiety and third-trimester-beer-gut were welcome with open arms at CS. They not only fit me with stylish shoes, but encouraged me to actually pedal when on the bike...and pedal we did! There was a great mix of both physical and mental workouts for the 45 minute session. While, as always, my tongue remains in my cheek with these reviews....I did thoroughly enjoy this experience! "Rita", the name of the helpful and way-too-in-shape instructor, brought energy, encouragement, and "good vibes" as the kids say. Thankfully for society, I don't think I'll be slipping into any yoga pants in the near future....But...I will be going again to Collective Studios. For the first time in a long time, I felt welcome and encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone. Mark this as my first (and let's be honest, only) gym review because I can't imagine having a better experience anywhere else.

On top of that, the instructors and team are knowledgable and welcoming. The studio is over an hour from my home and I would absolutely make that drive on a regular basis - it was divine!

I just moved back to NH after living in Los Angeles for 10+ years. Living in L.A. all those years,…read moreI have had all sorts of memberships: gyms, Crossfit, Pilates, Cardiobarre, Pop Physique, Spinning, etc. Seriously nothing has been as effective and easy to stick with as Orangetheory. It's ironic that it's -after- I leave body-conscious L.A. that I get to know such a great workout. I'm a single mom with a toddler who works full-time (40+ hours/week). My free time is very limited, so I need something focused. Initially I was going to join a local gym since I thought it more cost effective. Yes, there are gyms with cheap $10 or more per month memberships, but many of the reviews of those cheaper gyms comment about how equipment is frequently broken, bathrooms are dirty, and staff and customer service are uncaring. Also, even though I would run miles on the treadmills or spend a long time on the ellipticals and lift some weights, I wasn't really seeing results. Having a coach or trainer definitely helps, as do the heart rate monitors that OTF has so that you can track your progress during the classes. With Orangetheory no workout is ever the same, so you're never bored. Within just an hour you get a great workout. And there are all ranges of ages and athletic ability in the classes, so you're not dealing with just thin women and gym bros. Classes are relatively small, so for the price you pay you're practically getting a personalized trainer workout. Personal trainer sessions normally run $100+ per visit at most gyms, but you're paying that for a full month/8 classes at OTF, so it's a good deal when you think about it. I would rather pay my $99/month (8 classes/month) versus $10/month at the cheap places since the results have been great. I consider it an investment in myself and you get what you pay for with the cheaper gyms. I'm now down to my pre-pregnancy weight after just a few months. (Actually, a few pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight.) If $99/month is a little out of your price range, just cut that cost somewhere else and reinvest it here in yourself. And, perhaps your health insurance offers a partial gym membership reimbursement like mine does, so you get back some of the cost. And membership is billed monthly, so you don't have to get stuck in long complicated contracts. And the staff are great! Not the disinterested jaded staff that you find at most gyms. Just a great place all around.

The coaches are always helpful and all go above and beyond to help you meet your goals. It's a judgement free place that has a lot of fun. It's worth the investment. 10/10 Recommend.
