I had my first ever professional massage! I've had back problems for a few years but was able to keep it under control with yoga until a year ago. Although I've tried yoga periodically it just wasn't working. A very good friend suggested a massage at Breathe In Serenity in Clayton. I booked my Deep Tissue & Neuromuscular session with Asherdee. The description mentioned trigger points and managing chronic pain. Sounded like the perfect fix. I arrived and felt very nervous. Well, I got so much more than I could ever imagine. Asherdee went to work on my very tense muscles in my neck, back and arms. She worked my carpal tunnel in my arm and I haven't had to use my splint since the massage. I've had to sleep with the brace for years to calm my carpal tunnel. She also worked on my tight hamstrings. They have been a problem for over 30 years. My back isn't perfect yet but it is so much better. I feel more like my self than I have in a few years. I can't wait for my next massage. I've been meaning to post this review for a while, better late than never. When I look for a massage therapist, of course I read reviews. If I have a friend in the area, I ask for their recommendations too, and that is how I found Asherdee. My first massage with her, I could tell I was going to be "beaten up," but oh good Lord how I was able to breathe! I had not realized, until she fixed me, that I was holding so much tension in my neck and shoulders. Other massage therapists that I have been to will basically give you a rub down. Asherdee finds the dysfunction and works to take it away. For her there is no "algorithm" to follow. Instead, she uses her palpation skills to find where there is tension, works the tension out, and actually takes it away. I would recommend her highly to pretty much anyone I meet who is in need of a massage therapist who will tackle a physical ailment. read more

As a first timer ever having a massage not just here Asherdee made me feel so comfortable and relaxed as I was a little nervous and hesitant about everything. The atmosphere of the entire place was very calming and relaxing. It all blew my expectations out of the water! Since I live about 4 hours away I'm disappointed I won't be able to go back regularly but I know it would 100% be worth the drive. She even gave me some tips to go home with when finding someone close to me (so I don't have to wait a whole year for my next massage ) My family comes up here yearly for a camping trip and I know I will definitely be back next year to see Asherdee. I've been going to Breathe In Serenity for nearly 3 years. Asherdee is incredible not only as an LMT, but also as a business professional. I'm a certified personal trainer and am always impressed by Ash's level of knowledge in anatomy, physiology, technique, and having almost a "6th Sense" of being able to find the root of whatever ailment or tightness I'm experiencing. The facility is immaculate, inviting, and peaceful. The massage room(s) are practically sensory deprivation chambers - when you're lying on the heated table, you can let the stresses of life slip away in a matter of seconds. Asherdee gave me the absolute best deep tissue massage I've ever received. I walked out standing up straighter than I had in a long time - especially since she "put my shoulders back in place". Asherdee is an amazing worker, yoga instructor and person in general. The hot yoga classes are amazing if you are looking for both a great workout and a refreshing of the mind. According to my Apple Watch, one session of hot yoga burns about 900 calories! If you are looking for a more restorative class you should try the Chakra-Aligning Yoga and Guided Meditation on Sunday evening, I noticed I could practice some of the same poses from the hot yoga but it was less intense and I felt very refreshed and relaxed after. read more

The owner/therapist, Asherde is a highly qualified, licensed therapist, who has trained in Asia. My wife and I drive 3 hours deep tissue muscular healing. Her background in anatomy and physiology makes her uniquely qualified to treat a variety of muscular issues. Mine related to spinal stenosis, and I left there a changed man.
