This is a long overdue review, because Amy is nothing short of magical. After the first massage I ever got from her at the Mud Room, I immediately scheduled a session for my mom. I have referred her to my boss, friends, family, and anyone reading this. I am impressed by her skill and passion for healing. The location she works in is a small, cozy, and very clean. Here are some things that I love: - I would describe her massages as more so medicinal with lots of relaxation weaved into the session. It's evident she's well versed in anatomy, physiology, and the psychology behind it all too. - She doesn't waste any time in your session. She is respectful of your body and your modesty, but she touches humans everyday and you can tell she is confident in that healing touch. I have experienced some who I felt were too nervous about sheet tucking and rolled me like a burrito every single time it seemed wasteful. Or even some who leave you waiting for a while during the beginning of your session. Amy is ready to go when you are. - She is communicative, intuitive, and skilled. She is also STRONG. Healing is seriously her art. I have made the mistake of wanting a massage last minute on a day she is not available.... This great massage practice is located inside of the Cosi Bella Spa on 514 Ferry St. I went here for a Friday morning massage with Amy. The parking was painless at $0.50 cents an hour. I got the 60-minute Swedish Massage. I am usually very ticklish but was very relaxed during my massage with Amy minus a few hot spots. The setting had me very relaxed and I enjoyed my massage very much. I had her focus on my neck, shoulders, and hamstrings. I just finished some squats yesterday at the gym and am recovering today. Amy was very accommodating with how much pressure and always checked in with me to make sure I was fully comfortable at all times. I will definitely be coming here again! Writing a stellar review for someone I need to make appointments with can sometimes be a double edged sword - Letting the world know how fantastic of an experience or experiences I have will encourage people to book with that person, thus leaving less appointments available for my own selfish self. But alas, Amy is so worth writing a stellar review for. She is the real deal in the message world. Her knowledge and skill is beyond her years. I've had many a messages & regular therapists in my decades of life, (50+ years of a beat up body) and Amy is in the top two that has been able to address specific issues or just the need for a relaxing message. I can usually take a pretty deep tissue message, but recently I am having some odd joint and tissue pain, and yesterday Amy was able to determine how much to dial back the pressure just by my describing what I've been experiencing for the last couple of months, chronic 24 hour pain. I felt great immediately afterwards, & it's now been 31 hours since my message with her, and my chronic pain is at an all time low than it has been in four months. Another thing I like about Amy, she asks you right away before you are even on the table, if there are specific issues to address & what type of pressure you are looking for on that specific day, she takes nothing for granted based on previous sessions.
