Cute little casual eatery right outside the Helms Bakery area. If you want a sit down meal but don't want to spend too much money, this is a good choice. Most of the restaurants inside the Helms Bakery area are slightly pricier than Breakway. Small and cute dining room with semi self service - you order at the counter first and then you get your order when they call your number. We love their Shakshuka and Chicken sandwiches. Coffees are reasonably priced and decent too. Service is friendly and polite. Overall a great casual eatery!

    Great beautiful matcha! so delicious

So we came to Culver City and waited for IKEA open but they didn't open till 11. So I suggested lets go get breakfast at breakaway cafe. My friends first time . She ordered the breakfast plate and I ordered their burrito and matcha . All of the food amazing their Matcha latte was so delicious made perfectly! Staff was amazing! Jackson so nice and answered our questions . Cythia and Teal great serves! Great staff !can't say it enough go and try! And say hi to the staff ! It's always nice to have great service with a smile

BLAT with Turkey , absolutely delicious.

I really enjoyed the BLAT sandwich. I had them add their smoked turkey to it. The avocado was extremely fresh and ripe, the tomato was perfect, the bread was toasted just right, and the potatoes with dill were divine. They were very fast for a to go meal.

What to Get/Not to Get: The Salted Maple Matcha tasted healthy like drinking sweet grass. The hot Pumpkin Spice Latte is a must get option, and actually may have been strong with caffeine as I felt energetic. The Sausage Breakfast Burrito was subtle in flavor, so it may be hard to recommend for some. Customer Service: Very good. Pay first, and they'll bring your drinks/food to you after. Bus your own table after Price: Approximately $32.60, not including tip for 2 people Ambience: Indoor/Outdoor Seating. Good place to read and/or study too Overall: Good Experience

    BLAT with crispy potatoes

We loved our food. I had the BLAT with crispy potatoes and my daughter had the breakfast burrito. Service was fast and the employees were really nice. I wasn't expecting our food to be ready so fast but it came out hot and fresh. There are plenty of tables for dine in, I saw a lot of people working while eating- I assume work or school because they had their laptops out. Not a loud place and very comfortable. Metered street parking, I didn't see a parking lot. Prices are reasonable.

Delicious burrito and friendly service. It has a family/local/neighborhood feel with the plates and delivery feeling authentic as if you're eating in your own living room.

Found this place on Google. Had good reviews so we figure we try it since we were near. Free parking lot next to the restaurant. I got the BLAT. It was good! Fresh ingredients. I get a free side, either potatoes or salad. I got the potatoes because the cashier said it was the most popular. Next time I'm gonna try the Shakauka. I would have gotten it if I would have known about it on the Yelp reviews. ---------------- You order first at counter then pick your own seats. Cashier gives you a number for your order. Server will bring your food to your table. You get your own napkins, drinking water, coffee lids, and to-go boxes. There is 1 restroom for both genders. Tables are very big for big groups but we had 4 people and had to combine tables.

This is a very cute cafe I stopped in to grab a coffee after yoga. I got a regular vanilla latte with almond milks it was $7.48 well worth it and delicious. The menu is very limited so if you enjoy turkey bacon or meant substitute I wouldn't come but the coffee is good! And I couldn't get a croissant today but they looked delicious. The baristas were super friendly will for sure come back for the coffee specifically.

My experience for lunch at this cafe was so so. We split 2 sandwiches, one was a pulled chicken with pesto on ciabatta; the other a turkey sandwich with alfalfa sprouts & avocado. For both sandwiches, the ciabatta bread was pretty flat, not crispy on the outside, and lacked flavor as well. Considering it's a $20 sandwich I expected a bit better. The pulled chicken was very very dry and then to compensate it was overly saturated in a mayo-y pesto. Not the best. The turkey sandwich was similarly bland. One thing I did really like was their side of crispy potatoes. They were super crisp on the outside and soft & fluffy inside. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. Funny enough I think that was the star of the dish. You also have to bus your own dishes. Was not necessarily expecting that and especially considering 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees costs $50. They have limited seating both indoor and outdoor. The food did come out pretty quickly so I was grateful for that.

Amazing place! So glad I found it! I've always passed by but never seen it since it's so hidden. Honestly, the best breakfast burrito I've had, not just your regular breakfast burrito, was not greasy, had great taste, and was very filling. Iced strawberry matcha latte was great! And so was the iced latte...! The ambiance was great, sitting next to the window and getting the sun, and the music was nice; definitely will sit outside next time! The service wasn't super crazy; we definitely went during brunch, so it felt a bit hectic. Other than that, they were all super nice! and definitely recommend coming here and would come again!

Located across the street from the Helms Design District, this cafe has a bustling and vibrant breakfast atmosphere. We just got drinks, and I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk ($7.25). Our drinks were prepared quickly. My latte had a nice balance of matcha and milk; neither overpowered each other. There wasn't seating inside for two, so we just had our drinks at the Helms Design District because there was nice outdoor patio furniture. The ambience outside is calming and great for hanging out or reading a book.

cute brunch spot in culver city, great for a quick bite :) i got the shakshuka and loved the bread, it was perfectly toasted and went great with the tomato sauce. i appreciated that the eggs were actually runny as well! unfortunately felt that the tomato sauce was underseasoned, i would've appreciated more depth since i think it was lacking compared to other shakshukas i've had. this kind of just tasted like canned tomato with some spice, i was overloading on hot sauce here. more realistically a 3.5 star review but i would also look into trying the brie jam croissant

Many of the smaller artisinal coffee shops close around 2-3 pm. Luckily, Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. Is not one of those early closers, and I'm so glad I was able to come here after work at 6pm before my long drive back to San Fernando Valley. Just the small sample that I got today already made me want to come back here. I got a cup of Americano made from Mount Haraz medium roast coffee from Yemen, and it was just so delicious with its slightly earthy but pleasant flavor. There are a lot of other unique coffee drinks from Mufawar ( Mount Haraz medium roast + cardamom) to Sheeba (Qishr coffee beans) with ginger & cinammon. And coffee is not the only thing on the menu that can take you on an adventure. The desert and pastries are all very tantalizing, from Saffron Milk Cake to Honeycomb Khaliat Al-Nahl cake to what I got, which is the very delicious Pistachio Kunafa Cheesecake. It was a real treat for anyone who wants to take their sweet tooth beyond the basic same ol' flavors you tend to see in majority of coffee shops! Additionally, the shop has a gorgeous interior decor with its high ceilings, beautiful murals, and exquisite presentation of your tasty treats! Love the tray the used for my Americano and dessert! I'll be sure to come back here, especially since it does open late!

Everything is made with high quality ingredients, and each drink has its own creative twist. We tried the Honeycomb Toffee (Dalgona), Peanut Cream, Strawberry Matcha, Matcha Cream Top, and the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Tea. The Honeycomb Toffee was smooth with a rich espresso flavor balanced by the sweet house made honeycomb toffee. It was creamy without being overly sweet. The Peanut Cream was one of my favorites. The salted peanut cream paired perfectly with the espresso, and the crushed peanuts and chocolate added great texture and flavor. If you're a matcha lover, the Strawberry Matcha is a must try. The house made strawberry preserves add just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the earthy matcha. The Matcha Cream Top was also delicious with its silky salted matcha cream that made every sip extra smooth. The most unique drink we ordered was definitely the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Tea. It tasted just like the classic dessert with fresh mango flavor, creamy tea, and a rich finish that made it stand out from everything else on the menu. The drinks were beautifully presented, tasted as good as they looked, and were clearly made with attention to detail. Unfortunately, I think the vibe is completely off with this type of food, and I think it's hurting their customer base (I.e, there's a sports watching day, and live DJ?, but the food is definitely more for upscale vibes). I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little. Moreover, their wine list is not extensive considering it's a wine bar, and wine mentioned in their name :) Anyways I've digressed. With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The maitake mushroom was exploding with flavors, though I find the sauce a little too salty for my taste. If I came here just for food, I'd come back and try new things!

Another criteria they were looking for was a nice place to hang out. We ended up deciding on Green Table Cafe because my daughter said that this cafe sold smoothies and it was a cute place based on the pictures she saw online. Once we got to the cafe, it had an inviting vibe and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly, but I wasn't a fan of the Chocotino smoothie and the table we sat at was not cleaned prior to us sitting there. Green Table Cafe is located in Los Angeles specifically on Pico Blvd. and Stearns Drive. It's next to an India Spices & Groceries store and it's across the street from CVS. Parking is mainly street parking and we found a metered parking spot across the street that didn't cost too much. Once we entered the cafe, we were greeted by small red car that someone could win if you participate in their $20/ticket raffle and a welcome greeting from the gentleman behind the counter. It's definitely a cute and inviting place with a large painted sentence "Love what you do Do it with LOVE" on the wall behind the counter. There are other inspirational wall art scattered around the restaurant. There are floral decorations throughout, wooden slat ceiling, natural light, and other accents that match the vibe. There are round marble tables with blue velvet and blue plastic chairs, a skinny wooden table with a sofa, and there are covered outdoor seating. Not sure if the gentlemen behind the counter was the owner or manager, but he was customer service oriented and was friendly to every customer who entered the cafe. My review is solely based on the smoothie I ordered because that's all I experienced. If we ever visit again, I would like to try their food and desserts because the desserts and pastries looked enticing. The description of their savory food on their menu made them sound delicious, but I won't know until I try. Based on its name, the verbiage on the menu, and what I drank, it appears Green Table Cafe is for the healthy conscious consumer. Their menu consists of coffee drinks, smoothies, superfood bowls, salads, and burgers/paninis. The words gluten-free, kale, quinoa, acai, hemp milk, and mint extract hearken to someone with a vegan diet. I'm a carnivore and I like to eat whatever I enjoy, so I'm probably not their target customer. I ordered their Chocotino smoothie and I wasn't a fan from the first sip to the last. The Chocotino is made with almond milk, banana, cacao, protein powder, rolled oats, almond yogurt, dark chocolate, peppermint oil, and goji berries. It leaned heavily on a peppermint taste and when I let my daughter taste it, she said it reminded her of a York peppermint patty candy. I definitely was not a fan and I almost brought it back to exchange, but I kept hoping it would taste better. I stirred it with my straw, but it didn't change my disdain for this smoothie. My kiddos got the smoothies they craved and a place that was a cool place to hang out. I didn't enjoy my smoothie, but that's what parents do. We make sacrifices for our kids.
