Hello Yelpers! I hope everyone is hanging in there. I ordered from Breadlam for the first time today and I'm so glad I did. The roast beef sandwich with spicy mayo was on point, from the delicious bread to the high quality ingredients made this sandwich standout. I also want to give a shout out to the staff though we didn't meet in person because I ordered through UberEats, I called Breadlam because the UberEats app said they couldn't find a driver and I said I would come pick it up. They were super cool and said sure. Just as I was heading out the door they called back to let me know my order was finally being picked up in a few minutes. Then they called me again once it had been picked up. I thought was really nice that they cared that much. Now that I'm thinking about it perhaps that's why the sandwich was good, because they care about all the details. I'm definitely go back Breadlam. read more

I just ate their Masonic sandwich and it's excellent. They have a selection of vegan sandwiches, and all the ingredients were fresh and enticing taste. read more

COVID has me catching up on reviews I'm late to write. Breadlam is probably the greatest artisanal sandwich shop in LA - don't get me wrong, good sandwich shops exist, but 9/10 they're Italian delis. I work in downtown and still catch myself here on the weekends or ordering through Postmates. Located in arts district, parking is funky - but easily accessible through literally any other form of transportation. It's never taken me longer than 5 mins to find parking, and if you're willing to walk 2 blocks, it's SUPER EASY to find a free spot. I highly recommend the Valencia (thank god for some vegan options), Ironwood, Beef Blvd, and my brother's favorite, the Raymond. These sandwiches are super light and filling without feeling like you're in a food coma. Seating = a few tables outside Get the truffle and dill pickle chips!! Also, my party hosts - I love ordering their charcuterie boards when guests come over. There are a handful of cheese shops in LA but their markup is ridiculous compared to Breadlam read more

My husband and I came jere on Sunday afternoon and we ordered the Valencia (no protein or cheese unless you want to add a protein and a cheese) in my case, I added Manchego cheese! My husband ordered the Mount Vernon. Both were great and so tasty! I don't usually enjoy subs/sandwiches, but both of ours were very tasty and the bread is SO GOOD, soft, and not hard bread! Highly recommend, and will definitely be back here! read more

For quite some time, JJ's Sandwich Shop was my go-to for sandwiches in DTLA. It's still a favorite to be sure especially in the breakfast space, but imagine my joy when both Breadlam and E Stretto opened around the same time in the area. Both are excellent. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? This is a cute little sandwich shop, and even in the age of corona and the quarantine, they're up and running with to go orders. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The sandwiches at Breadlam hover around $13.00, and it is here that I'll point out that you'll get slightly better value at E Stretto. My Raymond Sandwich at Breadlam was enough to check the box for a full meal, but for virtually the exact same price you can get almost twice the sandwich at E Stretto. Even so, Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Turkey, greens, tomato mayo, cheese all on some seriously excellent bread. This was a really strong sandwich, and there's a huge spread of options to choose from if turkey isn't your jam. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? I like Breadlam, and I'll be back, but E Stretto still has a bit more of my attention given the value. No Star. read more

Delicious, fresh and you can't go wrong with the classics! They're great at what they do!

This place really impressed me. I love Bay Cities but its so far and its quite pricey. Although this place isn't cheap per say, the quality of the ingredients is great, the sandwich is tasty and the service is fast and friendly. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the sandos! read more

I love this cute little sandwich shop near my apartment. I've been here a few times and I've made it a goal to try everything on the menu. They have a good selection and the people are also really friendly and give great suggestions. My favorites so far have been Mt. Vernon and Glendale. I love that they use fresh and high-quality ingredients. These sandwiches remind me of the ones I would get in Europe. They also have some seatings outside that you can enjoy your food under the sun while people watching in the Arts District. read more

Go here. You won't regret it. Found this AMAZING sandwich shop via Yelp! This is a great option for takeout during COVID-19 times. We called ahead to place our order & it was ready in 10 minutes or less. The shop is super minimalistic and fresh. The sandwiches are so tasty, made with fresh breads, cheeses, vegetables and spreads/sauces. They're all very simplistic, yet unique flavors. They also have really good chips and beverages to enjoy with your sandwiches. Love that the sandwiches are just the perfect size and you don't feel terrible after eating there. The neighborhood is artsy and there are benches to enjoy your sandwich at. Thanks for a great lunch! read more

My first time and it was excellent. The spread on the ciabatta for the Geary was to die for! Great sandwich and I'm definitely coming back.

Any of the options, seriously. Grab a sandwich - Mt Vernon for me and ice cream across the street , see some art. Then grab another sandwich on the way home, make it the Raymond! read more

If could give Breadlam ten stars, I would. Unfortunately, Yelp only allows a maximum of five. The first thing you should know about this place is that, despite their limited hours of 11am-4pm, they sell out early almost every day. That should tell you everything you need to know about how delicious and fresh their ingredients are, how sick their bread is and how great their service is. These are truly the best sandwiches in LA and, yes, your boy has been to Langers and Bay Cities. My go-to Breadlam order is the Ploughman's with turkey, but I also struggle to resist the Sweet Bleu Bird when it's available. They also do custom sandwiches but their regular and special items are carefully thought out and one bite will show you why. Big props to Tommy, Tiffany and A.J. for consistently making my day better with your superb sandwiches and customer service. Side note: Breadlam is the only sandwich shop in town I'm aware of that carry's Sprecher's, the dankest root beer in all the land. Kudos to you, Breadlam, for your superior taste in wares. I salute you. read more

Breadlam is a hidden gem in the arts district. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are Beef, Glendale, and Mount Vernon. Great place to get a quick bite and enjoy the quaint ambiance of the arts district. read more

I with they were open all day! That is my only qualm. The ingredients are always fresh. Make it a salad or keep it a sandwich. Either way is good. read more

Adorable and delicious tiny place in an adorable neighborhood. Had the Geary which they said would be like a bahn mi. I totally agreed. The pate combined with veggies and spicy sauce and prosciutto was perfect and delicious. There were so many good choices it was hard to settle on just one. $12 for such a special yummy sandwich is totally worth it. read more

This is now one of my favorite sandwich places in LA. From the bread to the amazing cheeses and meats, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better lunch spot even with the wealth of options in the area. Having tried more than half the sandwiches on the menu (can you tell I like this place?), there is a sandwich for all palates. If you want something on the sweeter side, there's the Holder with Serrano ham and honey. Want something spicy? There's the Mount Vernon with hot salami and spicy mayo. My personal favorite is probably the Glendale with Genoa salami, manchego, and cornichon mayo. All of these sandwiches are perfectly complemented by a delicious cheese that add to the flavor of everything else inside. They also have a good selection of drinks and chips, so you really can't go wrong. I would gladly eat here every day if I could. read more

"Simple sandwiches w/ complex flavors" It blows my mind how how flavorful these sandwiches are considering how simple and minimal they are. Tommy clearly knows his pairings. From sweet to savory, he has it all! I've tried almost all of them but my go-tos are the 'Ironwood' with turkey (it's filling, refreshing, my mouth waters as I type this) and thir special, '43rd Ave' (which is more of a nice sweet treat, I eat half of it as a dessert). Pro tip: The 43rd Ave isn't always on the menu but as long as they have the ingredients, you can order it. I love the amount of thought and effort Tommy put into each recipe; there's purpose behind every name and ingredient. Literal quality you can taste! read more

Located in the heart of the Arts District of DTLA, Breadlam is a quality sandwich shop which builds gourmet sandwiches with only the best charcuterie meats and artisanal cheeses. Today I ordered the "5TH AVE: PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA, AGED GOUDA, ROASTED TOMATOES, BASIL, OLIVE OIL, GREENS" on Chibatta bread. I didn't need any side dishes other than the small dill pickles that accompanied my order. The service was outstanding and the staff were informative. They have a few outdoor tables in front of the restaurant and I'm assuming most of the business is "to go." If you're interested in elevating your level of haute sandwich, Breadlam is the place to go. I wish I had taken photos of the sandwich but I was starving today!!! read more

Ordered the Ironwood sandwich which is essentially a Caprese. This place uses high quality ingredients paired perfectly to give you a flavorful, yet simple sandwich. I recommend the ciabatta made specially for Breadlam - you can taste and see it's amazing ciabatta. A scrumptious vegetarian option for a quick lunch outside or to-go. Expensive for the portion size and meatless sandwich but to be expected in Arts District. Also, non veggie sandwiches can be subbed or altered to try some of their other unique options - they have a one of a kind sandwich menu! read more

One of our go-to sandwich places. Sometimes they lay the cheese on a little too thick, but other than that, they're very good and have great choices! read more

Breadlam is a cute little neighborhood sammie spot in the dtla arts district! There's tons of parking around (garage and meters) and they have a few outdoor seating options if you wanna dine there! Their sandwiches are the perfect size (not too small but not ginormous either) and all their ingredients tasted so fresh!!! I enjoyed the Beef Blvd which came with roast beef, fresh mozzarella, spicy mayo, red onions and greens! Really tasty and washed it down with one of their vanilla seltzer's! Highly recommend grabbing some lunch here when you're in the area! read more

A very welcome addition to Arts District. No nonsense European inspired deli sandwiches!!! I love anything burrata and prosciutto and this place really hits the spot when I want good quality ingredients to satisfy my craving. The most important aspect of course if the bread. The French baguette is very fresh and crunchy, but I prefer my sandwich on the ciabatta bread. This place is a welcome addition to the area, and I hope that they continue to offer delicious quality sandwiches. read more

Easily the best sandwich spot in the neighborhood and always very kind customer service.

Breadlam is a cute little sandwich shop in the Arts District. A few tables are available outside which is a blessing now that we have outdoor dining again. I came here all planned to order off the regular menu but the specials caught my eye and ended up getting the Mount Wilson which had smoked salmon. The sandwich was their take on a version of lox with cream cheese. It was more savory and had different flavors with its different pepper spread that was a unique take which was tasty but doesn't compete against the OG lox sandwich. I loved the bread though. The ciabatta was so tender and moist. I could have the bread with butter all day. My friend ordered the 5th Ave and it was also very spread-forward. I wish I could taste more of the prosciutto but nonetheless a really tasty sandwich. I would recommend coming for a takeout order or getting to spend a bit of time outside. The place is busy with a ton of people coming to pick up their orders but the food comes out quickly. Parking is available at meters along the street but coming on a Sunday is great with free metered parking. read more

I was picking up a few sandwiches today and the guy who was helping me made me feel really welcome! I didn't get his name but if it helps, I came in today Tuesday around 1pm. TL;DR - medium size portions of sandwich with super flavor, unique ingredients, and an attention to detail and quality. COVID cleanliness is good! I've had half the menu here and it's all been good. The roast beef, the chicken, the salami. Anything you order here is gonna be good. The sandwiches aren't the cheapest and they aren't the biggest, but I think they're big enough so you're not hungry after. Interesting offering of chips and drinks in the shop. They offer cheese boards too, this may be worth exploring in the future! COVID Cleanliness -Social distancing. Masks. Hand sanitizer in store. They bring your order out to you when ready! read more

Best. Sandwiches. Ever. Honestly, every sandwich at this place is amazing; the flavors, the ingredients, the bread are all top tier. If I could, I would eat these for every meal. Also, the cheese plates are fantastic. Highly recommend ordering for your next party or if you're just really into charcuterie like me. And the owner, Tommy, is great. Really takes care of his customers. read more

So I'm only in the area Tuesday & Wednesday. Tuesday I stay to 4 and It's the only time I could go since I end my job at 4 . So I notice they close at four so I decided to drop a Dm yes a Dm I asked If I was able to place in order to pick up at 4 and I would be there 5 minutes late .. I took a chance I got message right away the person said yes that's fine . Just let me know when your ready to order.. I place my order through IG Dm since it's very quiet in the office. I got 2 of the Mount Vernon & one 5th Avenue with extra meat.. I tried half of the mount Vernon and half of the 5th Ave.. If I had to choose I think 5th Ave takes it ...I mean there both delicious.. cant wait to explore more of there sandwiches...And the person behind the DM was Thomas very helpful and super nice .. I use to work at Pizza Hut For my first job and I'm not gonna lie the last call will kill me... But that's what great customer service is all about read more

Super underrated. I'd say it's in the top 5 best sandwiches in LA. Food has always been consistent since pre COVID. People here are very nice and patient with the orders. Ambiance is in the arts district too so it has an open spacious seating room. I tried the 5th Ave and Raymond - both are the best sellers but heard all the other sandwiches are good too. read more

I was in the area visiting a friend and we checked out Breadlam during lunch. The staff was friendly, answered all of my questions, and made some great recommendations. The beef sandwich that I got was one of their specials, but I can't remember the name (...boulevard something?). I'm impressed how something as simple as a sandwich could taste so complex. The ciabatta bread tasted fresh, and I've never tasted a cheese quite like the one in my sandwich. I'm not sure what type it was, but it was definitely way tastier than the stuff I buy in the grocery store. Everything...the bread, the beef, the cheese, and sauce were well balanced and delivered intense flavors. I would get that exact sandwich again, but I'm also eager to try their salami and prosciutto options next time I'm visiting LA. read more

I was so excited to try this place after reading all the great reviews. Breadlam is right in my neighborhood so this would have easily become a go to spot. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. A lot of reviews said the sandwiches are filled with stuffing, but my sandwich had hardly any meat. Mind you the bread was tasty but I don't know if I would come back here especially with all the other delicious sandwich places LA has to offer. With that said, don't let my review steer you away, it just wasn't my cup of tea. read more

Love their sandwiches, fresh and tasty. I usually get the Masonic, meatless on a baguette.

Just met two of the nicest people working at this restaurant. Really helpful and just gave off the ultimate friendly vibe. There's some tables and benches outside as well as birds picking up people's crumbs. Very chill place and they do have cold brew for those missing GGET. They have vegetarian sandwiches as well but be prepared to smell charcuterie when ordering inside. I had the vegetarian caprese (it wasn't called that) and it was amazing. It was really flavorful with a kick of pesto. read more

BREADLAM IS WHERE ITS ATTTTTT! This little hidden gem in Arts District is one of those "if you know, you know" spots. Their sandwiches are seriously some of the best I've tried in LA. It's simple yet full of flavor... the meat, the cheese, the bread, the pickles... it all comes together to make one of the tastiest sandwiches. My personal favorites are the Mount Vernon and the Glendale Sandwich.. it really depends on if I'm in the mood for something with a lil kick (Vernon) or not.
