Hanging out for a couple days in downtown LA for jury. Luckily lunch breaks are 1 1/2 hours, giving us time to leisurely enjoy our lunch. Turning to the Yelp app for options nearby, I found this small cafe walking distance from the court house. Easy and convenient to allow me to dine in. Sandwiches, salads, smoothies, etc.. the menu was more extensive than I expected. I was leaning towards a hot sandwich, but since I was planning to save half for later, cold was the way to go this time. My turkey avocado on sourdough was quite tasty and nice size portion. It is only a sandwich, any sides need to be purchased separately. They were kind enough to serve 1/2 my sandwich as dine in, and wrapped the other half to go. I also tried the Green Diet smoothie. This was thinner with a more watery taste than I expected, but overall not bad. I am usually a fan of any green smoothie with kale or spinach, peanut butter and banana. Definitely a great spot only 5 min walk from the courthouse.

Cozy cozy cozy spot right in the heart of DTLA near the Civic Center Metro stop. Easy access to pick up a sammich. Great selection of choices and love how many different ways you can get a sandwich. Opted for a crispy panini since I love a little crunchy vibe. Cheesy, gooey, and the lettuce retained this nice crunch while the pesto chicken stayed tender. Need another one PRONTO.

Cherry pick cafe is a chill little spot with great items to choose from. Prices are reasonable compared to other places Downtown. Lunch hours do get busy from the locals as you can imagine. Sandwiches and wraps are great here don't forget to pick up a cookie. There is a variety to choose from on the menu. They even make pizza. Plenty of seating inside or pick up and go. Give Cherry Pick Cafe a try if in the area.

The food was great. This was a last minute thing. I will be forever grateful of my girlfriend for picking this place at the last minute. The service was great. A lot of nice people. I love the ambience because it brings chill vibes.

Hidden Gem in DTLA I found this cafe by accident and I cannot tell you enough from the quality of food to the service. The pizza was so delicious. The ambiance was nice! Gives you a NYC feeling which is nice! Highly recommend everyone to visit and enjoy some good food.

Such a great café! I love coming here because their sandwich and salad taste so fresh. The salads are flavorful and satisfying, and the juice is just the right amount of refreshing. Each visit feels like a small treat, and I always leave happy. Highly recommended if you're looking for something tasty and uplifting! My favorites: Cobb Salad, Asian Chicken Salad

Great atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff! I've been in L.A for 3 days and I'm bummed that I didn't find them sooner!

Ambiance: it's a hidden gem located in DTLA, about a block north from the grand central market hill entrance, narrow but deep inside the establishment,m Service: they have been in business over twenty years, very friendly and patient with questions Food: numerous items on their breakfast and regular menu, two to three sizes to choose for majority sandwiches Cherry Pick Sub - **** regular, roast beef, ham, and turkey with two kinds of cheese, fresh ingredients and balanced flavors, recommend Price: decent quality and great prices, about $15 per person for a lunch meal

This review is only for the morning service. I work in the building where they are located. I love coming here to get my fresh juice and toasted jalapeño cheese bagel with cream cheese. The owner is super friendly & by now he knows our order. The place is old nostalgia but clean & cozy. I've never had an issue & in the morning (anytime before 9 am) is not that busy. As far as prices, this place is a heck of a lot cheaper than heading to Grand Central Market. A juice there cost 12 bucks for 16 oz @ Cherry Pick Cafe is $8.50. The bagel I order is a little less than $5. I've seen the lunch menu, the prices are OK & less than if you went anywhere else but I've never ordered lunch from then. As far as, I know, there aren't any bathroom.

Oddly, loved it! It's not appealing from the street and maybe not so much as you venture inside.. but the food is great! . Excellent service, great food. Myriad options... great choice.

Cherry Pick Cafe is about 10 steps from my office which makes it so convenient to grab some coffee and a bite to eat. Everything they serve here is delicious and gigantic, from the salads to the pastries. You always get a friendly greeting with amazing service. This small cafe also has a few tables and chairs inside if you decide to dine in. There is also a few parking lots near by and some metered parking if you are lucky. Definitely check them out!

My friend just flew in for a day because his relative had forgot her passport and needed to travel to Korea, so we stopped here. He missed a few meetings, a vet appointment and other things, but also saved the day, otherwise his relative wouldn't have been able to make it to Korea. While here, they ordered a salad with cherries and pecans that was pretty amazing. I think that may have been one of the better salads I've eaten. In addition to that, a cucumber burrata salad was ordered, and that was made well too. When my venison burger arrived, I took a few bites and it had the exact flavor I was hoping for and I thought the burger was done extremely well. Note: I think it is more difficult to do walk ins now, so be prepared to fight for a reservation online instead WHAT WE'VE ORDERED IN THE PAST (* denotes personal favorite/would order again) APPETIZERS - Baby Albacore: nice bright dish to start the night! I really enjoyed the fried shallots on top. - *Cornbread: a must get! The chile helps cut the richness of the dish so it's not so one dimensional. Butter and honey -- what more can you ask for? - *Cherokee Tomato Caesar: I was surprised by this dish. Four tomatoes used are so delicious and meaty and the dressing coats it perfectly. The little anchovy in the center of the tomato adds to the savoriness of the dish. It's so simple, yet delicious. - *Carolina Gold Rice: a table favorite!! The seafood was abundant and everyone enjoyed each bite. The rice was al dente and not mushy at all, but helped meld all the flavors together. Everyone agreed we would reorder. MAIN - *Beef Ribeye: delicious. It's good to share because of the richness of the ribeye plus the bone marrow. I personally could not eat the whole ribeye by myself. Medium rare is the way to go. - *Mushroom Crusted Pork Chop: cooked well and was delicious! Not dry whatsoever. The crust on the pork chop was great. SIDES - *Dressed Lettuce: their salad which is a necessity to have vegetables at the table. The dressing is citrusy and bright, which helps cut the richness of the food. DESSERT - *Sticky Date Pudding: this does take some time to make since it's in a skillet. But when it comes out, it's so decadent with the ice cream. I tell myself that I'm healthy eating it since it's made with dates. - Chocolate Cake: dense, rich, dark chocolate, not too sweet. I love dark chocolate so I was a fan of this cake. We even got it to go and it still tasted good a few days after the meal. It's pretty dense for a cake and I really only need a few bites -- so its a nice way to end the meal. If 2-3 people: recommend 2-3 app/sides + 1 main protein If 4-5 people: 3-5 app/sides + 1 main protein I think it's a great celebratory meal. Everyone that I've come with has stated they would go come back -- especially since the menu does change seasonally. Something happened and when we arrived there was a mix up with the reservation so we ended up sitting in the bar for about 45 minutes. This place is extremely casual, think shorts, t shirts, and flip flops and you won't be out of place. Servers and bartenders all have the eagle rock/highland park grunge vibe. I went there with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. We started with the cornbread. I thought it was good (4/5) but with the amount of butter and honey anything would have been good. Wife didn't care for it, thought the buttermilk made it too sour. Just know that it's tiny. For the four of us, each had one bite. The menu for mains is pretty limited. Steak, swordfish, or porkchop. We ended up going with the steak, 2 swordfish, and then added the brown eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and then wanted to start off with the pork chile (which is really chile verde). The chile verde was the star of the night. If I ever went back, this is what I would order. Maybe it's because all the chef's are hispanic, but it was really good. They serve it with homemade tortillas and it was excellent. The steak is a large 2 pound bone in rib eye. I ordered it medium rare. It was more on the rare side, which i don't have a problem with, but the steak was a little tough. Not super tough but for $150 I definitely expected a little more "melt in your mouth" rather that fighting some pieces. Bone marrow was a nice touch. probably a 3/5. The fish was well cooked, not dry but the flavor was not amazing either. Hard to explain but the sauce was a little too sour. I like lemon on my fish but the sour almost made me think the fish was past it's prime. It wasn't, but the sauce didn't really highlight the fish. I shouldn't have ordered two and would skip this one next time. My least favorite and a 2/5 The sides were good. Mashed potatoes with garlic and butter, nothing special but good. Brown eyed peas were really just white beans. They were good, but not steal the show good. About a 3/5 For dessert we split the chocolate cake which was more like a muffin with a hazelnut whipped cream. Don't think of chocolate cake, think of it rather as a small piece of chocolate flavored loaf with no frosting or chocolate pieces. I liked it because I like things that are not very sweet but I was the only one that cared for it. Overall portions are fairly small. Between me, my wife, and two teenagers we ate everything. Total bill with tip was about $510. Pretty crazy when you think about it. Would I go back? Probably not but the ambiance was nice with the grill and real candles.

From the atmosphere to the service and, of course, the food--everything was flawless. The Main Event Blueberry Pancake: My friend ordered this, and it was huge and incredibly delicious. A total crowd-pleaser. Filipino Pork Belly Adobo: I ordered this and was so impressed by how rich and deeply flavorful it was. Absolutely delicious. World-Class Service & Hospitality The service here is incredibly efficient, but what really made our day was the staff. Rambo took care of us and he was fantastic--so pleasant, attentive, and proactive with everything we needed. We also had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner! It was so impressive to see her on the floor working just as hard as the rest of the team. She was incredibly nice and you can tell she truly cares; we watched her personally ensure the quality of the dishes was on point before they ever left the kitchen. That level of dedication explains why this place is so successful. Do Not Skip Dessert! Before you leave, you must hit the pastry counter. We grabbed a few things to try, and they were sinfully good: Kouign-Amann: Flaky, caramelized perfection. Basque Cheesecake: Rich, creamy, and beautifully baked. Chewy Chocolate Cookie: Perfectly textured and decadent. We had such a beautiful experience here. République lived up to the hype and then some. We will definitely be back, and we're bringing our friends and family next time!

The chopped chicken salad was actually so good and filling, I loved the vinaigrette, it was bright and refreshing. And the rainbow trout was cooked well. The cinnamon sticky bun was pretty good, but it was a little overdone so the bottom was quite hard. The black sesame matcha was okay as well, I didn't really taste the matcha or the black sesame.

Yall gotta try this delectable restaurant!!…read more Shout out to the Red Dining Book bc I never would have known about Linden, and I am so so glad it brought my friend and me here! The food is divine, the playlist on 100, the interior beautiful, chic, and homey at the same time. All the wait staff are so so friendly. We were able to find street parking but they do have $13 valet if you can't! We started with the Caesar brûlée which was solid, great presentation. 8/10 We next had the yucca fries in duck fat omg SO good. And I used to eat yucca literally every day when I lived in Paraguay. These fries were perfect GBD and the butter they come with? Absolutely heavenly. Perfect bite, perfect mouth feel, perfectly pillowy inside 10/10 Next we had the oxtail grilled cheese special. Yall, this was ooey gooey melty and the butter/oil/bbq sauce on the side was PERFECT for the sandwich. 9.5/10 for this We finished with the snapper and the agnolotti. The agnolotti was a great summertime dish;the corn and peas make it feel light. The agnolotti fell apart a little bit, but still delicious. 8.5/10 The snapper was perfectly breaded and cooked, and it came with the perfect accompaniments - the sauce, greens and fennel, and pink grapefruit rounded each other out perfectly. Great dish 9/10 I will definitely be bringing friends back here! It is a smaller restaurant, which adds to the homey feel. And my friend could not get over hearing Brandy and Janet in the same sitting. Truly great music!

Unfortunately, we left feeling more disappointed than impressed. To start on a positive note, we were seated on time, and all four of our cocktails were well-made and enjoyable. Unfortunately, that's where the positives mostly ended. Our overall dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours, which was simply excessive. We were seated outside, and for most of the evening we appeared to be the only table outside being served. Despite that, everything moved at an incredibly slow pace. Several items we ordered were either never entered or never brought out, which only added to the frustration. For appetizers, the Caesar Brûlée was the biggest disappointment. It honestly tasted spoiled and had an unpleasant aftertaste that made it difficult to enjoy. The Curry Corn "Ribs" had a nice flavor, and the Lemon Pepper Brussels Sprouts were easily the favorite dish of the night. The $23 bread basket, consisting of two fish-shaped pieces of cornbread and four small pieces of focaccia, felt very overpriced for what was served. For our entrees, we ordered the For Goodness Steak and the Bama Smoke smoked chicken. The steak itself was cooked to the requested temperature and had good flavor, but it arrived only lukewarm, which took away from the experience. The smoked chicken breast was tender but lacked seasoning, and the Alabama white sauce wasn't what we'd expect from authentic Southern-style Bama sauce. We were also excited to try the restaurant's famous oxtail pot pie, but unfortunately it had already sold out by the time we arrived. What made the evening even more disappointing was the lack of hospitality. When we expressed our frustration about the long waits, we were told they were busy inside--as if sitting outside somehow explained or justified the delays. Had we been informed that outside service would be significantly slower, we could have made an informed decision or at least adjusted our expectations. Even more surprising, during a meal that lasted over two and a half hours, not one manager or member of leadership stopped by to apologize, check on our experience, or acknowledge the obvious service issues. Overall, the food was average at best, with a couple of standout appetizers, but nothing that justified the lengthy wait or made us eager to return. Service and hospitality are just as important as the food, and unfortunately both fell well short of expectations. Based on this experience, it's highly unlikely that we'll be back.
