Turkey sandwich was bomb. It's a very sophisticated approach to the traditional turkey, the mustard with the peppadew is delicious.

So far I've tried the 5th Avenue, 43rd Avenue, Cabrillo, and Beef Blvd sandwiches. All have been super delicious with extremely tasty and fresh ingredients. Follow their instagram page to see some of the sandwiches that aren't shown on the menu; they will gladly make it if you ask. I love the vibe of the shop and I'm always greeted in a friendly way. The chip selection is great (I checked the bags and they are made in Spain) and there are a good variety of drinks and cheeses available for purchase too. read more

I work in Little Tokyo and have random cravings for sandwiches during lunch. I always went to Subway and Urth out of routine, but one day, I finally decided I needed a change. Breadlam was the first option to pop out, and I left no moment of hesitation as I ran out the door. I never knew a gem was hiding just around the corner! It's a reasonable walking distance, but I would prefer to drive to maximize my lunch break. Unfortunately, parking absolutely sucks in that area fyi. I got there as soon as it opened, so I'm not sure how the usual crowd is during lunch rush, but service was quick, and the food came out very fast too. I got the Mount Vernon. Spiciness is very subtle. I really wanted to try the sandwich on Baguette, but I wasn't sure if it'll be the type that would cut the roof of your mouth. I wasn't willing to risk it that day, so I opted for the ciabatta instead. Overall, the sandwich was really, really good! It was very flavorful. However, I felt the portion was a bit small for $12, but I guess you're paying for quality. read more

So yummy! I didn't want any particular sandwich so they let me make my own. I got turkey, avocado, Gouda, red onion, greens and spicy mayo. The bread basically melts in your mouth! Obviously I got the truffle chips as well. Can't wait to come back for more read more

The sandwiches are amazing! The ingredients are fresh every time and the staff is always friendly. I love turning people onto this place everyone I know is a fan! read more

This place is located in the super trendy, instagrammable area of DTLA and is somewhat hidden. The owner is really friendly and constantly asked if I needed help or recommendations for any of the sandwiches cause I looked like I was struggling to choose. There were so many sandwich combinations I liked so it was definitely hard to choose but I ended up gonna with the Raymond. It had a turkey base with a sharp cheese and spicy mayo. The bread was chewy and the sandwich did not skimp on the meat. You could tell the meat and cheese this place used was high quality. I will most definitely be coming back to try more. read more

Without a doubt the best sandwiches in LA, the 5th Ave and Beef Blvd are literal staples of my diet. The bread they use for their sandwiches is fresh and tasty and the meats and cheeses are always a hit. They normally have 1 or 2 daily sandwiches which are literally always good. If you're on a keto kick or just trying to cut back on carbs you can make any of the sandwiches into a salad as well! They also do reallllllly good charcuterie boards . read more

Easily the best sandwiches in Los Angeles. I can never order a sandwich from anywhere else! The combinations are amaaaazing and you can even make your sandwich into a salad. They have great drinks and super tasty chips. They also do Charcuterie Boards!!! Such an amazing spot with high quality sandwiches! Also- the team is so sweet and soo fast!! read more

Too little toppings inside but a very nice location and friendly staff. I would not recommend the sweet sandwiches. I recommend the savory ones. read more

What a cute little spot hidden in the Art District of DTLA. Mom and pop store to its core. The young lady behind the counter is always SO NICE. She always gets my order exactly correct. Plus she just has an A+ attitude. They have a single but great vegan option. Or you can alter your sandwiches to make them vegan. Either way youre in for a treat. Outdoor atmosphere is superb too. read more

Not sure why this is averaging 5 stars. I ordered the Mount Vernon and it was average at best. The ciabatta was comparable to the ones at Panera, and the sandwich itself was pretty underwhelming. I was debating between Breadlam and Bread Lounge, and wish I had gone to Bread Lounge instead. read more

Wow! You cannot go wrong with any selection. Their sandwiches are incredibly well crafted and each have their own distinct flavor. We go here every chance we get and have even ordered in bulk for parties. Top notch quality ingredients, bread and service. I recommend it to all my friend and visitors. A gem in the arts district. read more

Love this place, came here for some lunch since they offer some vegan sandwiches and was welcomed immediately by the two kind workers here. I ordered the Masonic (vegan) and waited in my car and one of the workers kindly brought it to me, so nice. But gosh the sandwich was amazing, very fresh, full of flavor and so fulfilling and the little dill pickles on the side were delicious! Plus I got a German Coke from the fridge, pretty good, tastes like Mexican coke. Have been coming back at least once a week, can't help it. read more

Breadlam - the masonic (vegan), so fresh and delicious, my favorite, beyond bomb. - Sandwiches Near Me - Los Angeles, California

A tiny sandwich shop with massive flavor. High quality ingredients across the board. You can't go wrong with any sandwich (trust me, I've tried them all). There's even special daily sandwiches if you want to mix things up. For first timers, recommend the Beef Blvd for savory tastes or the Holder for a sweater note. The wait time for food is around 5min, sometimes up to 10min if it's really busy. There's a small selection of outdoor tables for the shop for customers, but most people seem to take orders to go. There are no restrooms. Hours are from 11-4pm 7 days a week. I wish they were open for dinner! Definitely give this spot a try for a quick bite in the Arts District and maybe head to Salt and Straw across the street if you want great ice cream to wrap up your meal. read more

So it was a beautiful November LA morning so I ventured out to the Arts District to enjoy the day. I stumbled upon Breadlam during my walk , I Google'd it and looked up the IG page and was very intrigued about the concept. I ordered a Beef Blvd and got a bottle of Lemonade and decided to pop open the laptop in one of the outside tables and enjoy the day. (There is public wifi available in the area). Based on first impression, the sandwich was about the length of my forearm with generous slices of Mozzarella and Roast Beef. The Spicy Majo had a nice kick to it. One of the memorable things was the tiny Pickles they serve on the side as they looked too hilariously cute to eat. The bread was very soft, fresh and really compliment the sandwich. Overall, it was a great place to eat, chill and enjoy a gourmet sandwich. The workers/owners were friendly and I would love to come back soon! read more

Thomas knows how to make a delicious Sandwhich. The deli meats he chooses are high quality and sliced to perfection. There's seating outside and trees that provide shade. It kind of feels like an urban picnic. Really nice lunch spot and one of those hidden gems in LA. read more

Don't walk, run!!! Best sandwich in Los Angeles by far! I think the aged Gouda is made from golden cows. The bread is softer than angel butts. The service is nicer than Mr. Rogers. Just go! read more

I had a sandwich here a couple weekends ago. And I still remember because it was simply delicious! It was the Glendale sandwich which was essentially a salami and cheese sandwich, and the bread was super soft. My quibble is that the sandwich was mainly bread and with exactly two thinly slices of salami. Two! I guess I just had a bread sandwich accessorized with other ingredients. Not at all worth the $11.00 charge, more like $5.00 given the super skimpy portion. But it still was good. The service was great and the guy working there was super friendly. That is why I still managed to give it an overall good rating read more

I visited this spot while visiting a friend in LA. We were in a rush and it was the perfect spot to hop in, grab a couple sandwiches to go, and then get back on the road. There is no seating inside, just some standing room while you wait for your sandwich to be prepared. I got the 5th avenue on a baguette and my friend ordered the beef blvd on multigrain. Both were really delicious and had their pros/cons. Each bite of the 5th avenue was mostly gouda and tomato, the flavors of the prosciutto and basil really didn't come through as much as I'd hoped. But, it was the perfect hand held sandwich and was easy to eat in the car. The beef blvd was a larger sandwich and proved difficult to eat while driving, but it was the tastier of the two. The mozzarella was less overpowering and the spicy mayo was a great complimenting flavor. I recognize that our bread choices played into the hold-ability of our sandwiches lol. Side note - the employee that took our order said the beef blvd was his favorite! Breadlam also had a collection of bottled drinks and bags of chips to choose from. Really just the perfect spot for a light grab and go lunch! read more

As an Arts District resident, I really wanted to love this place! The ingredients are above average, the sandwich ingredients are inventive and they source their bread from Bread Lounge, another one of my favorites. However, after paying $45 for 2 sandwiches and a 2 person charcuterie platter, my boyfriend and I were still hungry! The sandwiches: we got one of each of the two specials and both of them were majorly skimping on the best part of the sandwich -- the filling! It was 90% bread on both of them. And on the one with the greens it was maybe 8% greens and 2% cheese/meat. The soft bread smushed together so thin that it completely consumed the very small amount of ingredients inside. So disappointing! Charcuterie: a little upwards of $15 for a charcuterie board for 2 isnt a bad price, what you get is pretty straight forward. My only complaint is that it didnt come with crackers or bread as a vessel for the meat and cheese. Got home and had to go to the store to buy some crackers. We also added our own jams, spreads, mustards and honey to make it more appealing and add some interest after the two lackluster sandwiches. What you get is 2 cheeses and 2 meats with nice marcona almonds and dried cherries, cranberries and apricots along with some small cocktail pickles. Won't be back anytime soon. If you're looking for an amazing stacked sandwich with high quality ingredients where you are fully satiated after just one half of the sandwich, try Baffo down the street. read more

Breadlam - Sandwich Special. Exactly 1 piece of meat and 1 piece of cheese - Sandwiches Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I have been visiting Breadlam since they opened and the quality has remained superb since then. My absolute favorite is the 5th Ave, and I also enjoy the Raymond (roast turkey). As a disclaimer I'm lactose intolerant and also cannot consume avocados--when I request to remove the cheese, they offer avocado instead...I found this to be a very generous substitute. With that, their sandwiches are still incredibly tasty and their ciabatta bread is so wholesome, soft, and tasty. Yes, the price is a bit up there but you are not buying a Subway style sandwich. Really friendly customer service too. You don't want to miss out, honestly one of the best sandwiches in the Greater Los Angeles area! read more

This space used to be Blacktop Coffee, one of my favorite places, but If it had to be replaced with something, I'm glad it's Breadlam. A seemingly simple sandwich shop, but all their options look great. I got the Geary, which had truffle pate, prosciutto, cilantro, cucumber and spicy mayo and it didn't disappoint. You can choose your bread as well - the ciabatta was excellent. Overall a great little spot and I can't wait to go back and try more sandwiches! read more

Cute neighborhood sandwich shop. I didn't really like the sandwich I got I felt like I could've gotten some thing that taste better at like Subway and I feel bad for saying that. I might come back just to try another sandwich to see if it was just the one that I got wasn't too, my preferred taste buds. read more

Great sand which place , their salads are great as well. Customer service is awesome I tried this one cbd drink which was flavored strawberry/lavender and it was great. Loved that i had options of different drinks I've never tried. Outdoor seating is okay , one corner attracts a lot of mosquitoes so just be sure not to seat at that one lol. Lots of nice sunlight and birds that want to eat your food so watch out for that. Overall I like this place. read more

Truly worthy sandwiches. Top tier meets and cheeses skillfully paired on REAL bread. The bread is reminiscent of what you find in a French or German bakery. Pick any sandwich on the menu and you will be absolutely delighted. read more

We love Breadlam! The sandwiches are fantastic, fresh and light. I'm so glad theyre staying open during Quarantimes. Staff: The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I'm a trash person so some of the ingredients were unfamiliar to me but the staff was always happy to describe them or give suggestions. I come in with my dog sometimes and they treat her with a bit of cheese too! Food: BOMB SANDWICHES. Youre getting high quality ingredients. Someone mentioned these reminded them of Europe and I definitely agree. This isnt your average American sandwich that's deep-fried then dunked in butter and stuffed with 5 types of animals. It's light, its fresh and I dont ever feel like I lost years off my life to grease. I get the Holder (cheese, honey and hammmmm!!!) for breakfast often and then Geary if I'm feeling spicy. You can't go wrong. I'm close to a point where I am going to order a 10 person charcuterie plate for myself cause we're on week 3 of quarantine. Its so tasty! They also sell cheese for $5 in their fridge! Parking: Street parking, its the Arts District. read more

This place lacks flavor and can't fulfill a pick up order correctly. Do not eat here.

I moved to the neighborhood a little over a year ago and have passed by this place almost every day. I cannot believe I haven't tried this place till now! Service is prompt and friendly. Ordered the beef sandwich, a baguette, and 1/4 lb of spicy salami. As someone who eats cheese meat and bread daily w a glass of wine, why have I been buying my goodies at the grocery store when I could have had breadlam?! Will be back to support this amazing local business!!! Edit-- side note, a lot of the negative reviews are people who think it's pricey for what it is and also the bread to filling ratio and I do think it depends on the person. Their reviews are valid and everything but I'd also like to share my perspective. Price wise I find this to b as much as anything in this area and plus w the pandemic I don't mind paying higher prices in general I work in retail and the margins for products and services I think should b higher in general (when my budget is tighter I stay at home and college student it). Fillings wise I personally prefer to have an even thin layer of each ingredient to taste everything equally. I don't like too much meat/filling in my sammies and often have to take it out so this is perfect for me. It all depends on ur personal preference so keep that in mind! read more

I've been to Breadlam four times now, and despite the impressive list of sandwiches, I've ordered the Beef Blvd each time. It's that good. At some point, I'll get around to trying all of the sandwiches, in the meantime I highly recommend this place next time you are craving a delicious sandwich! read more

Fantastic sandwiches. Gourmet ingredients in a casual easy to pick up from sandwich spot. I legit start to crave their sandwiches sometimes.

Breadlam - 5th ave - Sandwiches Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This place is stupid good. I've been twice in the last week and keep getting pulled in by the Glendale. The olive spread makes this almost a muffuletta, but not nearly as heavy because the bread is absolutely incredible. Light, airy, compacts down nice on a bite but doesnt get soggy due to the crispy yet thin outer crust. Man, I want to go have another. Someone else complained about the ratio of toppings to bread and I have to say I couldn't disagree more. A couple pieces of meat, cheese and greens, enveloped in that ridiculous, magical ciabatta, makes for a wonderful unique take on a sandwich. Not everything on a roll needs to rival the Godmother for stacks of meats and cheese. The flavors are nuanced and different than what you'll find most places and that's a great thing. Breadlam has carved out their own niche and I couldn't be happier with the result. Plus, the location is great. This is exactly what the Arts District needs: fast, easy, delicious and won't break the bank. If any of their selections were served at the more upscale fine dining restaurants around here on a lunch menu I'd expect to pay 50% more and leave fully satisfied. read more

Favorite sandwich place! My go to is the Raymond. Try not to order to close to the end of the day because they can sell out.

One of the better sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life. You can tell they care about what they are doing. I ordered the 5th Ave. prosciutto di parma tremendous aged gouda even better roasted tomatoes, basil, olive oil, greens all fresh read more

Amazing sandwich. Fast and friendly service. The downside is that it's $11 dollars for a pretty skinny sandwich. While it has quality bread, good ingredients, and delicious flavors, there's just not enough "stuff" inside to justify the price. A few benches for seating outside but not much of an ambience or an experience which only adds to the dissatisfaction of the steep price. I ended up taking my 5th ave home and added more spring mix to it. Despite my griping about price, I will be back to try the Glendale! read more
