Wow. Probably the best breakfast sandwich ever. Worth a trip to Hull, absolutely worth a stop if you're coming to the beach. Real ingredients, prepared well, served with a smile. Even the coffee is pretty good. My sticky bun was just a tad over baked and a bit tough, but that wasn't the case last time I was here. It was still delicious. The bread puddings are wonderful. The customer service was exceptional. They made good suggestions on what to eat for lunch. The prices were reasonable and the food quality was amazing. The place was pretty good. My wife had a tasty mozzarella sandwich. The crab cake was tasty, but small. Service was not bad, but had its issues, which I confronted the owner about. Breadbasket, you may be getting a lot of my money! My second day on the job, my colleague introduced me to this little gem, conveniently located very close to my new office. I had the turkey sandwich, which was amazing. We are not talking deli meat here! The turkey in the sandwich was legit, sliced turkey, like off an actual bird, like at Thanksgiving! The bread was also excellent, with hearty grains. I went back later in the week to try their salads. The roasted red pepper and Parmesan salad did not disappoint. The staff here was super friendly and attentive to my nut allergy. I also like the atmosphere. They have cute cafe tables and an interesting selection of books, including books about bread (ok, expected) and Hegel (not so expected). My only complaint is that they don't have any espresso drinks. I was sad to leave the Panera near my old job, but this place has infinitely better food. Yay! Also, they have free wifi! read more

When you take a bite out of anything from Breadbasket, you can taste that your food was made with love! Amazing meals and bread. Great coffee. A nice choice if you want a delicious meal out the house, but don't have the time/desire to go to a sit-down restaurant with waitstaff. We came for breakfast and it was delectable. We found this little gem while in town for a baseball tournament. Super cute, clean and so many yummy choices that it was hard to choose just what to eat. Quick stop to grab some takeout. I am so glad I did. I came home with bread, muffins, salad and a roasted veggie flatbread. I am not sure how I got home with out eating it as it smelled delicious . I went here with my boyfriend and his mom. They both got veggie scramble breakfast sandwiches with cheese and meat, and they looked really good. I got a chocolate marshmallow muffin, which I thought was really interesting. The next day I got a veggie scramble sandwich with cheese. They are made to order, hot, and on a soft bun/roll. I went to breakfast this morning with my mom she ordered the crabmeat Benedict. It came as a single egg sandwich with a small dollop of crabmeat. The roll was stale and no sign of hollandaise sauce. She detected a tasted of lime flavor. The sandwich was very dry. My mom kindly asked the chef (and owner) if she may have an extra spoonful of sauce. He replied very rudely "yeah for $2 dollars. Pay over-there!" He pointed at the register and then turned and walked away. He embarrassed my mom by his rudeness. She walked back to the table took the steal bun off what was suppose to be an Eggs Benedict dish but clearly had no resemblance to one. We had a similar experience to this a while back but gave this guy the benefit of doubt that he was having a bad day. Apparently he is just plain and simple- a jerk , who doesn't care about his service or how he treats people. Not worth going back here even if I do live down the street. I'll drive by and go to Saltwater diner where they treat people with kindness, great prices and good food! The Breadbasket has none of those! read more

This is one of the few independent coffee/sandwich cafes on the South Shore. Their food is always fresh and homemade, and they have a good selection of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, pastries, and coffee. I'd highly recommend their bread pudding pastries. Been here 3x past few months for takeout breakfast sandwiches and lunch. Staff is quite friendly. While the food is generally very good, it seems they have been understaffed on each of my visits and wait times beyond excessive. If you are in no rush, give them a try. mmmmm. We ate at a lot of good restaurants in Boston but did not know that this was a stone's throw from the hotel in Nantasket till our last day. Too bad! The crab cake sandwiches were probably one of the best I ever had - and I lived in Charm City for 5 years so have eaten a lot of crab cakes. The bread was great, crab cakes not greasy and cooked perfectly through, just enough mayo to keep it together and we could eat it with no problem on the beach. The salad and chips made it a meal. My husband and I were looking for a quick to-go breakfast and figured we'd give this place a try. I had the veggie scrambler with bacon and cheddar and he had the steak and onions sandwich with hash browns. We ended up eating there and the breakfast sandwiches were really good but the bread was next level. We opted to get some focaccia to go and figured since it was a little after 11, we'd get some sandwiches for lunch as well. Good experience, good customer service, parking available and good food. We were "regulars" at another sandwich place on the beach but since finding the Bread Basket, we will not be visiting other place again. The greeting we receive every time is great from everyone-big welcoming smile and questions answered. The beef, turkey, tomato/mozzarella, lamb and crab cake sandwiches are outstanding! Every sandwich comes with a tasty side salad and chips. I am working my way through the rest of the menu. Sandwiches are made to order, bread is freshly made and all ingredients are delicious. I'm a local and was not at all impressed by the service. The girl working behind the counter did not acknowledge us when we walked in, not a smile, not a hello, nothing. After looking at the chalkboard of offerings, we decided on our lunch and had to ask her if they were open and if we could order. She practically rolled her eyes (long wavy light brown hair. late teens?) and finally took our order. The food was ok, not worth the price. I had to ask for more pesto on the pesto chicken sandwich as there was none on one entire half of the sandwich. Since we live here the view alone will not impress us. Seems like the owner needs to be more involved as he first was- when we've had decent service and food here in the past. I drive past this place daily on my commute during the school year and would love to pop in for some good bread/coffee/etc once in a while- but not if the service is going to be so bad. read more

I had to add a review to this one to be fair to all 'yelpers'! Mainly due to the service...or lack of it. 4-5 star it is not! We walked into an empty restaurant this morning and the girl behind the counter looked up from her cell phone to take our order. When it was ready, she was 3 feet away form the pick up counter..still only us in there....and the chef tried to indicate to her that our order was ready. I heard him from across the room but obviously she was involved with something far more important than our order. I went and got it, which is the procedure, but she REALLY wasn't too busy to provide a little service!!! Food was OK, not wonderful. My husband got the crab cake egg benedict, served on a bland 1.5 inch white roll of some kind with a over/well done egg. My avacado toast was tasty, but again the bread was so toasted I could not cut it with a fork and knife, so had to pick it up to eat this open faced sandwich. Food OK, but NO warm fuzzy's here forks! Would give this place six stars if I could. The food could go head to head with anything in Boston or Cambridge. Mike, the owner is a talented baker and there is a fantastic selection of sandwiches, salads and flat breads. Field greens are organic, the dressing is lovely, and they come with yummy caramelized onions. It is not the cheapest place, but the quality is so high you will come back again and again. The offerings at this mellow hole-in-the-wall with counter seating and five small tables, cool music in the background and a lending library is neighborly, funky and chill. And the coffee is GREAT! I appreciate that there are a couple of vegetarian options. This is actually rare on the South Shore. Mike also does a great breakfast sandwich and has fresh baked bread, a pastry selection and mini bread-puddings in imaginative flavors like chocolate caramel. This place turns out seriously tasty food in a fun little spot right off the beach. Chef owned, everything made on site. My wife and I are working thru the sandwich list and no misses yet. The breakfast sandwiches on brioche are light and delicious, not the greasy concoctions you might run into. No espresso machine but really good coffee. Nice relaxed vibe with reggae and blues on the sound system. A couple reviewers mentioned price issues, but it seems fairly priced for the quality. Mystified by the Milton couple who had such a bad day. We've been maybe a dozen times and it's always friendly. So glad they've relocated from Norwood, a great addition to the area. read more

I went today with my mother to try this new place. The prices were slightly high. There is a sign at the register when you order and pay that request you inform the "server" of allergies. I paid $28 for a salad a flatbread and 2 teas. I assumed that I was to tip the boy ringing us up because he was the only one there other then the cook. And he had a large tip jar our front on the counter. I tipped him the customary 20% he took it gladly. After we sat he motioned for us to come get our teas at the counter. We did. I asked to use the bathroom they didn't have one. If I wanted to use the restroom I had to leave the establishment walk around the building into the back parking lot and go into a separate entrance that was a public restroom .I choose to hold it. In Hull on the water it was freezing. Then we sat back down. The only option of seating were uncomfortable bar tables. Set to high for my liking. He then yelled "your order is ready" . And left it on the counter. We again got up and picked up our own sliver ware, napkins and meals. No offer of water salt pepper etc... the food was very good. There was a waste basket by the door area, as you were expected to clean after yourself. I will not be going back. I should have tipped myself. Why is there a tip jar if your not doing anything to earn it? Important point to note : we were the only patrons in the place. My family has 50 years in this town. Hull has way too many great restaurants to pick from to choose one with no service or comfort. read more
