Trio Cafe did not disappoint! I had a party catered by Trio Cafe and I have zero complaints. The food was excellent and certainly exceeded my expectations. The sausage peppers and onions as well as the chicken broccoli and ziti were both cooked to perfection. The food was delivered right on time and was nice and hot. This place is good. I went here for lunch and got one of the best roast beef sandwiches that I've ever had. It was roast beef, american cheese and mayo on marble rye. I completely dislike mayo and it was still really really good. The size of the sandwich was huge and it filled me up. The people are either Bulgarian or Belgian, I can never remember. The service was slightly slow, but for the quality of the food, it was well worth it. I also had some of their black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream and holy crap was it good. What a charming little cafe! We were referred to Trio from Tony at Tony's Auto Works down the street. And, boy, am I glad he told us where to go. The soup was chicken lemon with rice and huge chunks of chicken. Ordered a small, and it was enough for me and my husband to share. I got the chicken ranch club, and he got the Italian meat lovers panini. Both were fantastic. They use fresh ingredients and make everything to order. There is an assortment of pastries to choose from, so we split an apple strudel. We were very happy with our meal. They clearly do catering, and you can call in your order for a pick up. I checked in on Yelp and got an immediate 10% off coupon. So glad we stopped there! read more

Several years back when Trio opened I refused to go for months because I thought there was no way a business could stay open at that location (no direct parking). Well after hearing from someone how good it was I broke down and went in. Ellie and company really have the recipe to overcome the parking problem. They have delicious food, served by extremely friendly people with generous portions at a great price. Whatever you get is delicious!! I have tried all the panini's and they are excellent. The soups during the cooler months are great (any vegetable broth based soup is amazing). The vegetarian pizza is well deserving of the awards it has won. The specials are always good as well - the turkey tips are awesome and the large portion (usually under $10) can feed 2. I recently moved a couple towns away and still find myself there at least once a week - usually more. Ellie and Illian make you feel like family when you are in there. read more

The Trio Cafe is right in Whitman Center, it is owned and run by a Bulgarian family. Ilian Tchourilkov, is the pastry chef/owner trained in Europe. Everything they make there is made by hand from scratch! It's great to get such a high quality product in such a small town. The location is an old barber shop, they only have a handful of small tables inside. It is a cozy place. They serve breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and even pizza. They have a grilled chicken Cesar wrap that is about as good as you'll find anywhere. The croissant with an egg and feta stuffing is my favorite item they have there. The only downside is the lack of parking. You'll have to park at the bank across the street, or in the center of town and do a little walking, but it is well worth the extra trouble. I hope Trio is around in Whitman for years to come. It's a far better option than Dunkin Donuts. read more

I have to agree with Eric and mention that I just recommended it to a friend last week and she called me today to tell me she loved it and already wants to go back. Even their chocolate chip cookies are perfect. This place is Whitman's hidden gem! The other reviews give plenty of details. This place is a treasure in a town of pizza joints and fast-food chains. They don't deliver, but their food is worth the jaunt. Gourmet treats, excellent service, free wifi, and reasonable prices make this a key stop. Their pizza is especially excellent...made on flat-bread type crust--I recommend the pesto pizza. If you haven't been, this place is worth a visit. Don't plan on staying too long, though, because there aren't that many places to sit. read more

A place without the standard mediocre pizza and subs. This place has great sandwiches. The family running the shop is very nice. They also have freshly baked pastries and coffee drinks which are also fantastic. Prices are very reasonable as well and I'm pretty sure they have specials as well. Whitman has it's own "Adult Candy Store". My husband and I frequently enjoy having a meal at Trio Cafe. It's like visiting relatives - (the ones you like). We have never had a bad meal or dessert. We love the Trio and come back often. The sandwiches are oh so very good and of a perfect size. It is a wonderful family run eatery with seven tables. When we bring friends here, they rave about how good everything is and leave very happy. Not only are the sandwiches delicious, they also prepare award winning pizza and pastry goods. They are very personable and hands on - when i brought in my baby for the first time, Mama Trio held out her arms and insisted that she hold him (to give me a break)! They are a wonderful family and it shows in the care that they put into their cafe and catering service. The prices are reasonable and they only use the freshest ingredients. Just swung by to pick up pancake breakfast. Ordered a couple drinks too. The wait was about fifteen minutes or so and so worth it. The pancakes were out of this world homey good. My roommate got an extra pancake due to a mismatch of chocolate chips and thickness which I thought was super nice. Everything tasted great, straight out of a mother's kitchen. TRIO is my favorite place to eat in whitman. Their coffee and croissants are rediculous. Sandwiches are delicious and pretty big too. It is a very nice family owned business that I go to at least twice a week and I don't miss dunkin donuts at all. If u try it once u will go back. read more

Located in whitman center is this quaint,humble & inviting resteraunt the Trio Cafe! walking in the door there is several tables, Plaques on the wall and chalk board menus. Very reasonable prices. I had ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. Delicous! my friend had ordered an italian wrap which he also found very tasty! the Cannolis are amazing! You could always find your great cannolis in boston but these ones are just as good! the owners are delightful! very nice people that are always ensuring your experience there is excellent! great place to have lunch and breakfast! if your ever nearby whitman center this is the one place you have to stop by and check out! read more

Within walking distance from our home, we are there quite often. In a town of Pizza joints this place is a oasis of great food. From their coffee, to sandwiches, to dinner specials, and yes even their Pizza all are very good. The sandwiches usually last 2 meals for me, and the dinners are pretty big. Good value for money. I had a chicken pesto pannini. It was fresh, well made. Really really good. Parking is awkward(kind of non existent, and it's not a sit down, waitstaff restaurant, it's just a small sandwich shop.). Review is late. I ordered back in October. We ordered a pan Mac n cheese, fruit salad, sandwiches for a basptism. The pan of mac n cheese was sour. I tossed it in trash. Owner did apologize, and refunded my money, but it was embarrassing. I had to tell my 50 guests to stop eating the food. This was my 3 time having food catered from trio cafe. Not sure what happened, but I will never order from them again. I would also like to add that the fruit didn't seem fresh, and the majority of the sandwiches were soggy. read more

This was our first time ordering from Trio so we got a few different options to try. PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA on Ciabatta CRANBERRY WALNUT CHICKEN SALAD on sub roll Meat Lovers Pizza Greek Salad and Coconut Macaroons The cafe is an adorable tiny spot in the center of town tucked away off the main road. Inside smells amazing and is reminiscent of a cafe in Europe somewhere only locals know. Staff are friendly and chatted with customers like family. The greek salad was freshly made, vegetables cool and crisp. The tomatoes tasted like they were fresh from the garden and didn't have that grainy texture that happens when tomatoes get refrigerated too cold. The Greek dressing is without a doubt the best Greek dressing I've ever tasted. Light and flavorful. The star of this salad is the feta cheese. OH MY GOD THE FETA! The feta is fresh crumbles, moist and the second you put them in your mouth they transform into creamy velvety goodness with the a pleasant slight tang. Just the way a perfect feta should be. I'm a fan of feta but this feta was a chart topper- absolutely incredible. The prosciutto di parma on ciabatta was also tasty. I've got a slight addiction to prosciutto. This prosciutto was light, thinly sliced, slightly salty and delicately textured. It melted upon tasting and was delicious. The sandwich had mozzarella and basil on a toasted ciabatta that was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Great sandwich. Next, the cranberry walnut chicken salad was also delicious and not heavy on mayo. The chicken was balanced with bright tart cranberries and chopped crunchy walnuts. If you're feeling brave in your arteries, the meatlovers pizza is a good bet too. The pizza dough is perfect and doesn't feel heavy sitting in your stomach. The sauce tastes like freshly made tomato puree, and the toppings were all deliciously crisp and perfectly balanced so one particular meat flavor didn't overpower the rest. Pizza was not greasy or oily. The perfect finish to this shared feast were the macaroons. Light fluffy sweet coconut drizzled with chocolate. yummm. Overall, the Trio Cafe was a perfect experience and will definitely be a first choice for catering any functions in my future. read more

The Sunrise Burrito is my favorite menu item! It's what kept me coming back I get it at anytime if the day, it's simple yet packed with juicy sausage, onions eggs spinach and feta. the portobello mushroom panini is so good. and try the cranberry walnut chix salad. a big plus is that theyre super nice in there. the owner is always handing out samples of his new menu creation. parking is limited to the street, but i dont usually have too much trouble finding some. read more

Trio Cafe is within walking distance of my home (about 10 minutes). It's such a great alternative to the many pizza and sub joints we have around here. (we have some good pizza and sub joints- but sometimes you want something different!) They have a 4 cheese (and pesto) paninni that is out of this world (it has lettuce and tomato, so if you don't like lettuce and tomato, like me, be sure to tell them). All the baked goods are great (homemade). Huge cookies. They have Lavazza coffee which is so so soooooooo much better than anything you can get a dunkin donuts and other chain type coffee shops. The owners (husband and wife) are very sweet, and one or the other is always there, taking care of their livlihood, which I think is important. I def. give them 5+ stars. The only "con" might be no parking (but I can walk). There is a big parking lot across the street (bank) but you have to be very careful crossing. So many nuts driving out there! read more

Ok-while I can appreciate the reviews of the folks, previous to mine, I am compelled to offer an opposing view. I have been to this restaurant 2 times. I returned a second time, to give the place a chance to win me over. You should always return 1 more time to a restaurant, if you weren't satisfied on your first visit. You never know what may have caused your displeasure...waitress or cook fighting, overworked and underpaid employees, lousy produce from vendor, too busy, not busy enough, there are lots of reasons. Now, to my review... My first visit was to pick up a telephone order. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, and ended up with grilled chicken. I ordered a Chicken salad, because I'd heard great things about theirs, but actually got tuna. I ordered 2 choc chip cookies and got oatmeal. That's right. Every single item was wrong. Every one. When I arrived to pick my order up (thyey said 30 min) I ended up waiting another 30 minutes. And it wasn't even busy. 15 minutes into my wait, I ordered a bottled water, expecting them to comp it for my wait, but they charged me full price. When I got home, and called them on the wrong order, the woman on the phone (thick accent) tried telling me that my order was correct and that I just didn't order what I thought I did. She was not the one to take my order, so I don't know what happened. I suggested they offer me restitution, in a gift certificate, and she laughed at me, saying if I wanted welfare, to "go to government". So WHY??? would I ever go back a second time? I always do. It's the way I roll. Like I said, maybe someone just had a bad day. Visit number 2 was an order placed in person. I didn't want any mistakes this time. So, after placing my order, I went to the one of 4 tables in the place, to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait some more. The couple in the back, were fighting in a language I didn't understand, but it clearly was major fight. They were slamming pots and pans, and saying things that sounded like swears, but who could tell. I was feeling very uncomfortable, and was glad when another customer came in, and rang the bells for service. But, that service never came. The fighting stopped momentarily, then started again. Again the customer rang the bell. Still no response. He got angry ( I don't blame him) and stormed out, empty handed. I would have done the same, had I not already payed for my order. While waiting, I actually saw the cook sneeze on a pizza...thank god it wasn't what I ordered, then wipe his nose with his arm. The woman finally came from the back...30 minutes after I ordered, and told me they were out of something I ordered, but had the rest of my order all prepared. She asked me if I wanted something else. I replied, "Yes, my money back". She gave me my money, buit not without mumbling something in another language,under her breath. I don't think they will get a 3rd chance. From me, they get ZERO stars. But the website makes me give at least one. read more

Meze meze... I was excited to try a local place with such good reviews, but as a person with a LOT of experience in the kitchen, a discernible palate, and a strong Calabrese heritage, I was sadly unimpressed by my Prosciutto di Parma panini :(. Very sad. The ciabatta was wonderful, though. Very fresh, tasty, well grilled. The prosciutto was delicious and that was all well and good, but the cheese? Two dinky little slices of mozzarella? COME ON :(. I'm talking deli case cheese. For the love of GOD... You cannot have a good panini without fresh ball mozzarella. If you can't spring for the bufala mozzarella, at least use cow's milk fresh mozzarella!!! Disappointing! Where was the olive oil drizzle? I didn't taste it... And the basil?! A SCANT-and I mean SCANT sprinkle of DRIED BASIL! What?!?!?! Again, grow a damn basil plant and use the fresh stuff! I couldn't even taste it on my panini... The tomato was not fruity and red, more sallow orange and mealy. I would pay closer attention to detail, but that's just me. I'll go back to the Trio, because the owner is nice and don't get me wrong, the food IS and was fresh, I would just make better choices.
