One look at this place and it draws you in! The outside is so adorable and a sight for sore eyes after seeing tons of fast food/chain restaurants. Per usual we couldn't decide so we ordered a little bit of everything. Pickle fries: why doesn't everyone get on this bandwagon! This is the best cut of pickle to be deep fried, amazing pickle to crispy goodness ratio. Onion rings: incredible Chicken and dumplings: ummmm so I just got engaged, can I have this at my wedding!? What a saving grace driving through from out of town! Great local spot that has quick service, clean everything and food that is so stinking good I wish I lived closer. I got the Sasquatch (roasted shaved turkey with bacon and chipotle sauce) on a croissant with the potato salad and man was it good. My friend got the same but pickle fries (they are pickles, cut into fries and fried) and that was really good, too! They have desserts, coffee (full espresso bar) and serve alcohol. Worst breakfast I've had in ages! Eggs were cold, sausage and tater tots were so greasy my mouth feels slimy. Biscuit was okay. Coffee was good. There is definitely more to find here than bread and butter. Expecting bakery smells, we were instead greeted with the enticing aroma of the house coffee. It filled the restaurant with a nutty, almost sweet treat of aromatherapy that tasted as wonderful as it smelled. The only disappointment was the hand scrawled sign-of-the-times on the door informing customers to "be kind" to servers. Fortunately for all, we encountered no reasons to be otherwise. A meal on their own (even when shared) the Loaded Fries were a nice cross-over from corn chips to crispy-coated fries with slow burn of ground chilis and jalapeno slices. The California Salad was tasty, though not one bit of a Californian was found (we looked all through it. Twice!) The Avocado Bowl was also enjoyable. Well..we stopped here for breakfast , because it said breakfast on their sign outside, and mediately were told they were out of biscuits. They have only scrambled eggs, no fried ,and sourdough toast. So we settled for a burger, which was good. Our grandson got a "kids meal" of mac and cheese. It was kind of bland. It was supposed to be a "meal" for $5.99 but they charged an extra $2.79 for the small fruit cup. Seemed a bit pricey for what we got. It was extremely hot inside. Bad service, worse steaks. Everyone has been raving about this place so I was so excited to try it. Sadly, it was very disappointing. The inside is cute, new and clean. The waitress was unfriendly from the beginning of our meal but as a former server, bartender and restaurant manager I "get it" sometimes you have a bad night or whatever so while I thought to myself this server doesn't have the right demeanor to wait tables, I dismissed it. She did keep our drinks refilled and our appetizers (focaccia cheese bread and spinach dip) came out quickly and were great. Our salads came out quickly and were also very good. That's when the meal took a turn. We ordered salmon and steak (maximum 20 minutes to make), they weren't busy, maybe 5-6 tables total while we were there. We waited...and waited...and waited... the table seated after us got their steaks and had eaten them before we finally asked about our meal. The server said she put in our order after the appetizers, the kitchen was backed up and they were plating it now. By this point we had been waiting for an hour. I believe she just forgot to put the order in...which is fine, it happens but fess up and just say that! Another 10 minutes go by (the other table has paid and left by now) and finally part of our order comes. Then, again we waited and waited...and waited another 10 minutes passed before I finally walked up to the register and asked for the manager. I asked about the rest of our meal and told her how long we'd been waiting. She did apologize and got the rest of our order out. The server offered a free dessert, as did the manager and also offered 10% off. I declined both as I wasn't there for anything free I just wanted a good meal and to experience what everyone else loved about the restaurant. My guest said her lemon garlic butter salmon was really bland, that's when I cut into my Ribeye. Fat, fat and more fat. I love a good Ribeye and I know there's always a little fat on them, that's what gives them that delicious flavor but this amount of fat was ridiculous! I showed the server and the manager after I cut the fat off and all they did was say they "see it". Service was slow, took so long to be greeted/sat we almost walked out. Despite having tablets for orders, waitress could only take one order at a time. For example: we were sat, she took the drink order for the table next to us, went to the kitchen for a bit, finally made drinks, dropped them off, then came to take our drink order. My husband had time to go to the bathroom and then sit at the table for a few minutes before she came for our drinks. We were one of 3 tables at the time. Very slow! Ordered chicken tenders & country fried steak. Both were frozen entrees sadly. Everything else on the menu looked to be fresh so we were very disappointed in the meal all around. We have frequented this place every time we are in the area, and every time it's a knockout this time was definitely not. The place was not busy maybe a handful of people in the restaurant so seating shouldn't be that difficult like they were trying to decide who needed to sit us. Took at least 10 minutes for the same girl to ask us what our drink order, and appetizer was while waiting for our server. 20 more minutes until we get a visit from our server and she informs us that our food was getting close to being done, and I inquire about the appetizer as she wasn't informed about it. It gets there, and our food gets there about 5 minutes after we finish, and our server is nowhere to be seen 15 minutes go by both of us use the restroom, and my wife tracks down the girl that sat us to get our ticket and boxes. Absolutely missed the mark this time I could understand if the place was slammed and they were struggling to keep up but from what I saw there were 6 tables with patrons so this is unacceptable given the above ravings they always strive for on service and attention as we were never asked if we wanted refills which we did need. Sad to see it severely miss the mark hopefully it gets better next time we come through the area. read more

Slow and inefficient. With only 4 other people in the restaurant when we arrived, it took 30 min to get drinks after ordering and even then didn't receive them all. At least 45 min to get food, which was not warm when we got it. We never received our full order. Took several requests to get the appropriate silverware and condiments. Manager/owner came to the table and apologized, but also stated he had just arrived, 90 min after the restaurant opened. It's good side food for when you're drinking, like the onion rings, they were nice and crispy and cheese fries have a good spice to it. The burger was good but a lot for what it is. I upgraded my side to broccoli and cheddar soup and I couldn't even eat a spoonful it was really goopey, salty, and gross. What made this experience worse was the food poisoning I got later that night. Food poisoning and flying, not a good combo. Let me tell you how god awful & petty this place is. From the outside it looks like a family local mom and pop business. Which is why I chose it. I ordered some food to go which was below mediocre (steak tips & avocado bowl) I wanted to get some cake for my niece. She's sensitive to certain ingredients (soy, corn syrup, fructose syrup, ext.) when I asked the lady at the front what's inside their cake she said the baker refused to give me the ingredients because it's their "special recipe" HUGE RED FLAG. How is it possible you REFUSE to give a customer ingredients that are inside your pastries??? I've never once encountered that. I did not want to leave this review because this place probably struggles to keep the lights on as it is judging by vacancy it had on a Friday night. Okay so let me tell you about this great little shop here. I went a little while back and the food that I had was good. My sandwich that night was the BLT with avocado on it and it was perfect. Not too crazy on the tomato and the right amount of all the other ingredients to make this one enjoyable sandwich. I paired it with a basic house salad, again yummy but nothing super amazing. I also got an order of the bread and butter, yes that is an actual menu item. The combo was so good. The bread was light and fluffy and had the right taste. The butter was the right amount of sweetness to compliment the bread nicely. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place. Glad to have stopped in while down there for work.
