We had an enjoyable breakfast with a nice conversation with the owner and the waitress. Growing up in the south we had chocolate gravy as a child and seeing it on the menu brought back memories. I enjoyed the meal and it had a nice local diner feel which I enjoyed as well read more

This small diner is located next to a gas station with a full service kitchen that's locally known for their "soul food", so I wonder how they've stayed in business. Their food is perfectly good, but the location isn't worth going out of your way for. read more

We were served by Marylin Monroe (Halloween)! Great burgers and outstanding BLTs. Lemon meringue pie and coconut cream pie were excellent. Lots of regular local customers. Get off the highway and eat here! Pork chops looked amazing. We'll be back the next time we're here. read more

Doesn't look like much, but friendly staff, decent regional food, locals, and inexpensive. You could do a lot worse, and if you're looking to get out of your bubble and see what small town America is really like, this is the place to do that. Being a very loyal customer I was looking forward to trying Jen's Diner for the first time, hoping to find a new breakfast spot. Sadly that did not happen! My party sat patiently waiting to be acknowledged which also did not happen! As we waited 3 other parties came in to dine each of them greeted and handed a menu. Jen's did not earn my loyalty in fact just the opposite, my party got up and left and will not be back. so if you want good hospitality don't go to Jen's diner. Sorry not sorry read more

On our way to TX, we chose this place based on the 4.5 star rating. Thought we might've stumbled on a hidden gem because it looked like a used car shack. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich. It was a small, tough, flavorless pork chop on an oversized bun. Son had the French toast. He didn't even want to eat it after the first bite. Hubs got the Truckers Special. He ordered his eggs over easy, they came out hard. The bacon was raw. Everything overall was lacking in flavor. Only thing half-way decent was the in-house made pork rinds. We have eaten at Jen's a couple times now. Both occasions were excellent. The atmosphere is a quaint, family own diner. Both times, the place was filled with locals. We enjoyed the catfish and fried pork chops. All the side dishes were great too. We will definitely return if we are in the area. It's even worth a few miles drive out of the way. read more

We stopped here on Election Day because of the reviews on Yelp. There were a steady stream of locals who had voted, and regulars. We got a complimentary basket of pork rinds before dinner. Bags of them were taken as to go orders. My husband had the catfish dinner with mashed potatoes and creamy coleslaw and I got the last order of chicken and dumplings with cornbread. A few bones in mine but I guess that's how you know it's homemade. One star down due to the pie. I ordered lemon meringue but was served coconut custard. My husband loved it and the owners comped it. Sadly I got the last piece of lemon meringue and it was a bit old tasting and gummy. Looking forward to giving the pie another chance sometime. read more

This is a new restaurant located at the former site of Hart's Catfish. It operated for several months under the name Poplar Bluff Eatery, but now is under new ownership as of about a month ago. We ate lunch there and had catfish with good-sized fillets and the pork slider, which was tasty and tender, served on a deep-fried roll. Service was quick and attentive, and the apple cobbler and banana pudding were delicious. Definitely worth going back to! read more
