We stopped by around 1pm on a Sunday. Place had about 8 tables with customers which looked slow given the space. One person seating and one person running tables. Ordered the chicken bacon sandwich with potato soup, the original bread and butter burger and chicken and dumplings soup. Table service was slow because they were understaffed. Chicken bacon sandwich had too much bread for the sandwich type and the pulled chicken was dry with a bland sauce. The potato soup was room temperature as soon as it hit the table. The burger was decent but the chicken and dumplings was basically chicken and noodle soup, also room temperature. We also got our check at the end and noticed a few charges that were off, but we're adjusted at checkout. The desserts looked amazing, and there was a good coffee and cocktail selection, but we would not come back for an actual meal. Maybe your experience will be different! All the best! read more

Medium well with all the whites firm and the edges crisp. The bacon was the highlight of the breakfast with thick cut bacon. It had a great smoky salty flavor with a touch of sweetness. I've been wanting to try Bread + Butter since it opened up a few months ago. Once things finally settled down, tonight was the night to pack up the family to check it out. Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted the hostess and seated. The restaurant has an updated rustic/industrial vibe looking to cater to the hipster masses. Family friendly with outdoor seating made our night. Now that is out of the way; let's get down to the nitty gritty. They have a wide selection of sandwiches on their menu, including both hot and cold selections. Their salad menu was also quite vast. However, if you're in the mood for something more home style and substantial, you are limited to only a few items on their specials menu. Our food was brought us to us promptly and with generous helpings which really speaks to the growing stomachs of my two preteen boys. Everyone left satisfied and complimented their meals. Absolutely do not walk into this establishment if you are on any kind of low carb diet, or any kind of diet for that matter. You can't help but want to eat every last morsel of delicious, garlicky, toasted bread they have garnishing each plate. It was so bad my husband and I had to wait after we finished our meals so our boys could scavenge for the last pieces of croutons in my husband's unfinished salad. I really liked it here. I am lactose intolerant and I got a great turkey sandwich with really good bread. I also got a decaf cappuccino with almond milk that really tasted good! My grandson got the kids grilled cheese, chips , drink and a brownie. My daughter got the Mac and cheese burrito. My oldest granddaughter got broccoli cheddar soup bread bowl and a matcha iced . My youngest granddaughter got a pbj, fruit cup, brownie and a drink. My husband got half a Reuben and half a Cuban sandwich. After tasting my granddaughters iced matcha my daughter and my husband each got a large one to go. There was an amazing assortments of deserts but everyone was too full for more. This is a pretty good restaurant. I gave it 3 stars, but it could be a 4 star restaurant on any given day. I had the lemon garlic salmon with a baked potato and a side salad. I had to pick another side and I don't like carrots, so I got roasted potatoes. That was a little weird. The salmon was good. It was huge, actually. Good tasting. The baked potato tasted like it was just reheated and put on my plate. It was barely warm. Also, the skin was tough. I normally love the skin, so that was disappointing. The roasted potatoes were fine, although redundant. The side salad was tiny, but good. Service was good. No complaints there. The atmosphere was a little strange. It was kind of like they are caught between a sandwich shop and a fine restaurant. It was bright and open and if it wasn't for the "Please wait to be seated" sign, I would have walked up to the counter and placed an order. Then when they brought the food, the provided nice silverware with a beefy steak knife wrapped in a heavy duty paper napkin. This was nice, but it contrasted with the napkin dispenser on the table. So overall I have to give it 3 stars. If the potato was good, or if the salmon was amazing, and there was a better option for another side, then this could have been a 4 star review. Nope. Maybe everyone was having an off day. Food, service, and facility were poor. Bread was doughy and in the verge of being raw - in rolls and bread. Soup had chunks of cream of chicken that wasn't warm enough to incorporate into the soup. Avocados were too hard to eat. Waitress struggled with everything. Saying anything else here would be mean. There was no soap in bathroom. It was so cold in restaurant that I had to get my coat from the car to eat. I suggest lots of training and supervision on all shifts. We were attracted to bread+butter bc of its close proximity to the Highway and extensive menu selections. We were just passing through Poplar Bluff and wanted something that wasn't fast food and was hopefully fast. Their online ordering system is better than any I've ever used (trust me we have used many!) we were able to make our meals customized with ease. Our order was ready when promised, and it was PERFECT! The quality and taste were fabulous. They even had gluten free dessert for my daughter. The restaurant is cute as can be and clean. The staff was so friendly, kind, and organized. This restaurant was way beyond our expectations! Thank you for making our pit stop amazing! A Really Great Place To Eat At! My Family Loves Going There!!Avocado Pulled Chicken Bowl Is The Best!!

I visited bread+butter on their opening night, and I have to say, I was very favorably impressed. Our meal began with the eponymous bread+butter, which was a selection of fresh-baked yeast rolls with two house-made compound butters. We got a sweet one, which seemed to be a butter blended with cookie butter, and a savory one, which seemed to be a garlic and chive. Both were excellent, but the cookie butter was by far the best. As an entree, I ordered the charcuterie platter, which was an excellent selections of meats and cheeses, some roasted red peppers, cornichons, and toasted bread wedges. The only way this dish might have been improved would be with some olives, which would have been a lovely addition to the plate. My date ordered a Reuben half-sandwich accompanied by a baked potato the size of his head - and it wasn't even the largest one. Smothered with bacon, chicken, cheese, sour cream , and margarine (really? in a place called bread+butter?) He was full and satisfied. The restaurant's seating is utilitarian chic, with inviting surfaces and cute bench cushions, and a lovely selection of photographic art and retro signage on the walls. Smooth and bare hard surfaces, while easy to clean and appealing to a minimalist aesthetic, do nothing to deaden sounds, so it can get a bit echo-chamber noisy. It was a great opening night, and the meal went smoothly. My recommendations: Build on strengths - great food and service, and a nice beer selection. The planned menu expansion adding a selection of pastas will help to expand from a sandwich, soup, salad and potato place to something dinner-out special. Along with this, Adding table service rather than an order-then-sit would help the ambiance. Adding some screens to the decor could help divide the space into seating areas, and also help to deaden sound. read more

This is my 3rd visit to what I thought would be my favorite stop while working in the area. Let's start with the first visit, friendly helpful waitress, fresh tasty food. ( Jan 21) Second visit (Feb 21) long wait just to be seated at one of many open tables, 20 mins to get drink from waitress who seemed like she didn't want to be there. Food was not at all tasty, or fresh. Had the chicken salad sandwich, very bland. However everyone has off days.. Third visit, which will be final. Waited to be sat for 10 mins, followed by another 10 before waitress who was scattered and not focused took my water order. Then another 15 before she ever returned with water... another 15 before she returned to take order.. finally get Avocado bowl... let's just say I could not tell whether it was supposed to be hot or cold. Chicken was not hot no cold. Now waiting for more than 15 to pay so I can get on with my day. Sad I had such high hopes for this to be my go to place. read more

Our waitress never came back to check on us and just dropped off check and didn't even say thank you. They also did NOT wear masks and during this time, I think they should have. It's a beautiful location with a deli style flare to it. Please note that you order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. We brought the pup with us so we sat outside and enjoyed their elegant patio (umbrellas and string lights). We were both astonished and excited that they carry a gluten-free wrap. We enjoyed the free app (when you check in for the first time), which is some delicious bread with butter. My husband had the Roasted Red Pepper Caprese sandwich and although the bread got soggy quickly, he loved the flavors.
