My young artist focused on his next masterpiece
Anthony P.

We first came here when my step daughter was 4 for ballet lessons. She's now 13! Wow, time flies... Fast forward to my 6 year old aspiring artist. He just loves his intro to acrylics class and my 9 year old was excited for golf lessons (dad could have benefitted, too) but his science Olympiad team conflicted, so he had to withdraw. However, this place is more than community based classes. It's a great place for kids to come after school to meet and study together, play organized or pick up sports, or just hang out. It's clean and the staff we met seemed really interested in the kids. Parking is plentiful and the location is centrally located, albeit a little to close to the mall, especially since it's the Christmas season... If you get the community center flyer in the mail or on line, seriously consider an activity for your young ones. It gives them something to do and a little me time for yourself...

We had our wedding at the Brea Community Center, and we can't express how much we loved this quaint venue. We had a budget wedding, and the community center was a perfect fit for us. The facilities had everything we needed. From a kitchen to an ice maker and a beautiful area for our ceremony. Heather and Rebecca were a gem to work with, so understanding and patient! We appreciate them so much! Our wedding was in May and by that time the flowers had bloomed and were and the arts garden was beautiful! We are so happy with our decision! The venue is beautiful and pretty scenic. Natural lights are beautiful for photography and so are the overhead hanging lights. People working there are extremely helpful and accommodated our requests willingly, including a lovely lady Rebecca Hart who was super helpful in making our event a huge success. Would highly recommend the place.

Brea Community Center was the perfect venue for our wedding! We held the ceremony in the outdoor Arts Garden which gave the beautiful garden fairytale vibe we were looking for without us having to do much decorating. For our wedding of 120 we used the Patio Room (2/3 of the community hall) which was plenty of space for all our tables and an open dance space. Rebecca Hart was excellent to work with! She was very communicative and answered all our questions. We got so many comments from guests about how beautiful the venue was! Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking to save some money and DIY!

Do you have any pictures of what the garden and ivy on the walls look like in Sept and Oct? We've only seen photos of spring and summer so nervous about what it looks like in the fall and if it will still be nice?

Hi Pat, thank you for your question. Typically the vines still look full and green in early Fall, however things can of course vary year to year based on the weather our area is receiving.

The only communication I received was asking where an item I rented (the projector/VIBE) was placed. I told them, they found it, and that was the end of it. Shortly after, Alex (the COO) emailed me stating that my security deposit would be returned by this weekend. It still hasn't been returned. About 4 days after receiving the email from Alex , Chloe texted me asking if I had received my deposit. I told her no and sent her Alex's email confirming the refund. 2.5 weeks after my event, she suddenly claimed that damages were found after my event. This raised immediate red flags. - The venue had cleaners come in right after my event, so they would've notified her of damages just like they did after her other events. So I don't see what's so difficult about showing me the cleaners claimed that the kitchen door was locked. Obviously, it wasn't if she can't provide proof. - Chloe herself said she would come in the following day to confirm the rented equipment was where I stated. So again, why weren't these issues brought up immediately if there was truly damages done to her venue during my event. - I had already contacted her the next day asking about camera footage, and she told me the cameras do not retain footage past a short period Despite all of this, 2.5 weeks after my event, I received this message: "After your event, our cleaning team reported a few issues... 1. The kitchen door was locked and a locksmith was called 2. A crack found on the wall 3. A broken door stopper" When I asked for video footage or proof, none was provided. Instead, I was sent a screen recording of text messages between Chloe and her cleaning staff. Her cleaning staff said these issues occurred at another event the following weekend after my event. Immediately, when I said thats not the date of my event she unsends the screen recorded message between her and her cleaners.... They are now claiming that I locked the kitchen door, requiring a locksmith, yet when I asked for proof, I received no response from Chloe and Alex. As of now, I am still waiting for my deposit. This entire experience feels like an attempt to retroactively justify withholding a deposit. The lack of transparency, delayed claims, and refusal to provide evidence is extremely concerning and unprofessional. If you value clear communication, integrity, and lawful business practices, I would strongly suggest booking elsewhere

There were walking paths but I still recommend closed toed shoes since it's a bit sandy. They had many benches throughout for resting or handing out and admiring nature. We spent about an hour here, but to be fair I'm not that into nature. I GOT A BUG BITE and it swelled and was super itchy. Sigh. I think someone who super loved nature or wanted to take their time to hang out could take 2-3 admiring all the plant life. My FAVORITE moments here was when we came across wildlife. My favorite were the rabbit, turtle, and crane. It's beautiful. Great spot to get some steps in and absorb some sunlight.

We booked for a wedding on a very short timeline for a smallish group, and top to bottom, we had an amazing experience. They made planning so easy, from our amazing point of contact/coordinator Emily answering every silly question I had, to the digital planning offerings so we could make our own floor plans for the team. The owner Summer was also highly responsive when we needed to touch base. Day of, everything was so streamlined that we hardly had to lift a finger beyond getting our decorations out of the building. The staff was on top of every element and they were all so sweet. On top of that, EVERY SINGLE one of our guests commented on how gorgeous the venue is, with some family members excited to find a place for their own events. We booked a buffet style dinner and added the lighting package, the coordinator upgrade, cake cutting, coffee service, soft drinks, and signature cocktails for a cash bar. First of all, the food is phenomenal. It's easy to dismiss any sort of banquet service, especially a buffet style, as something somewhat less than a gourmet meal, but not here. Not by a long shot. EVERYTHING is good, from the meats and sides down to the bread (at one point in the evening one of our guests had a plate of about 10 rolls, which was completely understandable.) My husband is a snob about meat, especially steak, and basically cried at our tasting with how incredible it was. We got great feedback from our guests both the day of and afterward about how great the meal was. The other really standout add on was the cocktails. It's another thing that every single guest (who imbibed) commented on, telling us not just how good they were but also how they loved trying "the groom" vs "the bride" drinks. The Charleston takes its alcohol seriously as a craft, with these drinks being the most truly *crafted* cocktails I've had in a while. It added an amazing element for our guests that they really noticed. From the "executing our vision" end of planning, the coordinator upgrade was *invaluable.* Emily handled all of our decor setup and strike, including packing things. I overplanned tablescapes, decor, and timelines, which made her job easy, but she's such a pro that she's usually the one to handle such things. (As an aside, she took my concept and ran with it in ways I didn't think of, and I was so thrilled with her execution. Emily, I adore you and your creative brilliance.) The other item we are so glad we added for our vision of the day was the lighting package. It was the thing that took a gorgeous ballroom reception into what felt like a bespoke event, from our spotlighted entrance to the lighting on the floor for our first dance. There IS an add on package that covered both of these line items and more, but because we wanted to choose some of our own vendors, we opted for only the individual items. I love who we hired, but for simplicity's sake, the larger package would probably be much easier for a couple looking for a "set it and forget it" style of wedding planning. We loved our experience with The Charleston and I'd book our special day there a million times over. The building is gorgeous and with a rich history, but beyond that, it's so welcoming--not just the people but the vibe there. For us, there was never any other venue for our wedding than The Charleston, and I'll tell everyone who will listen how much we loved it. I know yall read these reviews, so to the team directly: thank you for everything. It was the day we both always wanted, and you all made it special. We are infinitely grateful.

The security guard and most of the staff are nice. I had an issue with one of the worker (Jessica?) being rude to me over the phone. Basically I called and got permission from their office that I could store some drinks/food in the fridge the night before my party. But they didn't tell me their staff also used the same fridge and I guess someone almost ate our cupcakes. Not a big deal but Jessica called me and accused me of breaking their rules and tried to go off on me stating I would have to pay for another day or something crazy like that. Very unprofessional. Obviously whoever told me yes (guy who had a very sweet personality) lied to her and told her he never did such a thing Long story short- write your name on all your stuff in the fridge!!! They have a smaller room (130-140 people) to rent up at the playground level which was also a great option and a lot cheaper. There they offer an attached patio and kitchen as well with the room and have close access to the water park and playground. Also a great choice.
