This is my second review where I go to places with food-tech friend (FTF). The thing about her is that she knows her food down to the technical details, especially when applied to the food industry. She has keen and sharp senses for anything gastronomical. My experience with her lends a more critical eye to my reviews as well.
This time, we had merienda/dinner at Brazo in Maginhawa.
PROS: It's a classy quiet place with a wide open area, but also has air-conditioned interiors for those who prefer it; It's a perfectly relaxing place that's great for bonding and good conversation; They have good coffee and Brazo de Mercedes.
CONS: It's not really for the young and hip Maginhawa crowd that we're used to; Their prices are expensive; The burger was sloppily made, as FTF pointed out. The patty was dry and the bun was squishy. The lettuce was soggy as well; I don't even remember the other food we had. It's either our conversation was that engrossing, or their food is that uninteresting.
TL;DR: Food is a mediocre and forgettable experience, to be perfectly honest. But it's a good place for long, heart-to-heart chats. read more
