I had my first taste of Primavera Pasta, Beef Burgundy, French Onion Soup, and Soup in a Bread Bowl here. Sometimes, we would take-home a freshly baked croissant or a Blueberry muffin; these delectable pastries matched well a bowl of salad greens or other home-made meals. The distinctly non-Filipino flavors of the food in French Baker made me feel like I am in a different world altogether, and the ambiance of its old restaurant layout reinforced that feeling. There used to be four or five half-circular chairs with round tables in the middle, covered by plastic (but somewhat believable) trees. Those were my favorite seats in this restaurant. These have long been gone, but The French Baker has maintained its European vibe. It remains cozy with its wooden layout and comfortable chairs.
