My sister works in the Malate area, I always drop by her wokplace for a visit and we would head out together to share a meal. We don't see each other very often anymore because we are both busy, but a usual bonding activity between us is to try out restaurants in the Malate area and give them our own ratings. One time, we hit Hizons, which is an unassuming restaurant along Bocobo street. They have a small bakeshop that sells what my sister calls "pang-tita food": ensaymada, pianono rolls, delectable pancit and pasalubong stuff that mostly titas and moms enjoy.
There is also an adjoining cafe called Za's (which I'm going to talk about on a different review). There is a very popular catering service with the same name (and same spelling, too!), and Hizon's must get a lot of inquiries and have grown weary of telling peope that they are not the catering service , that they decided to plaster "We do not cater and we are not affilited with any catering business" on every box of their goodies, as if exasparated and exhausted of entertaining similar questions. read more
