The BEST Italian restaurant in the area or anywhere. The marinara sauce is so yummy. Large menu offering a variety of Italian dishes!

Family and I stopped in after spending sometime at Irvine Regional Park. The location is a bit inconspicuous, as it's crammed into a tiny space a couple of doors down from an Albertson's, across from John's Cafe. There wasn't much in the way of seating, as it was all out on the front patio. There are no high chairs available, so make sure you bring something for young kiddos to sit in (we had to use a stroller for our daughter). The owner was present and stated they had expanded from their operations from a main branch in Anaheim. Next time I come here, I'll be taking the food to go. The regional park is right around the corner with some beautiful picnic areas. Now onto the food... the portions here are big, and the food is great. We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, which was delicious; we split this up amongst the three of us and there was more than enough to go around. We also ordered the magherita pizza, which had a soft, delicious crust and a nice balance of toppings with zesty pizza sauce. The pizza was Sicilian style, and reminded me of a pizza you come across at an Argentine take-out. Really good stuff. The garlic bread is soft, chewy and bursting with garlic. Make sure you love garlic before ordering it, it's very garlicky! What really pushed this over the top into five-star territory were the prices. Since all the entrees are meant to be split, you end up spending less than a comparable restaurant. I love getting high value for a low price. We ended up with wonderful Italian dinner for three at around $30. The service was great and the owner was very attentive and concerned about providing a great dining experience. We're looking forward to coming back and grabbing a pizza to go for Park Day. read more

No indoor seating; outdoor tables are broken; place is next to a smoke shop and the owner of that shop was smoking and refused to close the door so all we were smelling was smoke. Food was so so. They also made a mistake on the order-- we ordered a small pepperoni and didn't realize they forgot the pepperoni until we opened the box. It wasn't that crowded so these kind of mistakes shouldn't be made imo. read more

This is the best pizza I've had EVER, and I've eaten a lot of pizza across the globe in my 31 yrs. My wife and my first time at Brava Cucina tonight. Mark, the owner, was very friendly and gave us great suggestions on what to try. He has been in the restaurant business his whole life and has perfected the pizza! I wish we had the appetite to try more items on the menu, but this review is just for the pizza. What makes or breaks a pizza is the crust, and Mark's crust was the best I've ever had. Crispy, yet soft, and done just right. I wouldn't have changed a thing. You can tell that he spends time on it and that it's not his first rodeo. Also the service was excellent. Mark went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience from the moment we ordered, to keeping us entertained with conversation while we waited, to making sure we had enough plates and utensils and dipping sauce. He even gave us re-heating best practices to ensure that we enjoyed the leftovers. This is our new favorite pizza spot in Orange County. We will be back and refer to our friends. read more

UPDATED: This is now one of our regular spots. We live in the complexes around the corner so will call ahead the order and walk over just in time to eat outside. Always get great service and delicious food, yet I still haven't been able to have their lunch which looks amazing. Wait time is still a good 20-30 minutes typically so again, always call ahead! But the owner is so nice and the food excellent! ------------------------------------------------ I've only been here once, but based on my first experience, I will be back soon! Ordered a basic pepperoni pizza which was delicious. Service was great and I do agree that ordering pick-up is the best way to go. They quoted me 20 minutes. Compared to a couple that was there ordering in person who were having to wait 30 minutes. Can't wait to come back and try many of their other menu items! read more

Came here after a 16 mile ride in blackstar Canyon. It was our first time. The service was beyond exceptional. They don't have indoor seating but I experienced better service than any indoor place I've been to. The food was amazing, pizza crisp and light. Pasta al dente. Meat sauce just right. This is a small take out cafe owned by the folks that own Conca D'Oro (Ive eaten there since we moved to Orange in the 60's when I was 9 or 10.) Happy to say the food is EXACTLY like Conca D'oro. Order came up quickly, the gal that waited on me was helpful and very courteous. So happy this place is here with Conca D'Oro closing in April! My husband and I came by to pick up dinner on a Friday night and realized they had quite a few regulars despite being new to town, which is always a good sign! Mark was very welcoming and friendly, and even gave us a sample of their pepperoni pizza and a craft soda on the house. For dinner we split the Spicy Penne pasta and garlic bread. It was a huge portion and was soooo delicious. We are hooked and come here once a week now! These guys are doing everything right. They have amazing food & customer service! read more

With plenty a variety, the menu really offers something for everyone. The self-serve, natural, craft soda machine is an added bonus. The salads and pasta are delicious, but don't overlook the pizza. Solid 3.5. What I liked... the prices were exceptionally resonable. The service was friendly and fairly quick. The soda flavors, while a tad too sweet were enjoyable. Esp. if you mix them. The food... was just ok. A little lacking on flavor and what I like to call "crafting". They were definitely trying, it looked really good but cut some corners. My perperoni pizza had about 3 pieces of perperoni. The Caesar salad was iceberg lettuce, etc. The review that calls it "the best food he's ever had" was being way over generous. What I disliked... the girl behind the counter was pleasent but a little (saying this nice) "unsure" about the menu, ingrediants, etc. And then, with absolutely no one in the restaurant, told me in the future I "should really consider calling ahead with my order". What? I'm sure she was just trying to be helpful but it came off like "reservations required". Also, the seating is only outdoors, about 2 feet from the curb. I tried the margherita and the ham & pineapple pizza! Both were so delicious. Everything tasted sooo fresh. Mark was unbelievably welcoming and helpful, making sure my friend and I had everything we needed. Neither of us really drink soda, but we tried the craft sodas there and they were great too. We ordered salmon dinner last night. It amazing!! It came with a large salad and bread. The salmon sauce and seasoning was fantastic. Amazing place! Very high quality Italian food with BIG portions. We ordered the sausage, chicken parm, and meatball sandwiches. Happened to be in Orange County and looking for a lunch spot. Stopped by here due to Yelp reviews. Had the meatball sandwich and I have to say it was the best meatball sub I have had anywhere in Southern California. So good I had to write a review. Small place in a shopping center which makes it most suitable for take-out, but they have a few tables to eat there if you'd like. Person at the counter that took my order (and brought lunch to my table) was very courteous and pleasant. Their fountain sodas are with what I believe are Pepsi's line of "craft" sodas - Caleb's and Stubborn. If I find myself near northeastern Orange County again I will definitely be stopping by to try some more of the menu. read more

The family owned concha de Oro on Tustin Avenue where we went all the time for 40 years. but the rotten owner of the center waste prices where no one can afford to rent there. We called the restaurant and it rang forever and no one answered. We called back about a dozen times to place an order and they and they had taken the phone off the hook. We figured we'd order there and made the 20 mile drive out there. When we got there we were told there was an hour and fifteen minute wait for takeout. I asked why they didn't answer the phone so we could have known that and not wasted an hour driving back and forth and the lady at the counter couldn't care less and said they were really busy. We had 2 different friends bring us dinner from Brava Cucina because of a medical surgery. We were very lucky they did since we had never tried this place. We had the meat lasagna and veggie lasagna and they both were very delicious. The veggie lasagna was the best we've ever had, and the meat lasagna was a very good traditional dish. Even though they don't have indoor seating, or much seating of any kind, he made that dining experience better than most restaurants. Simple and delicious. We've eaten here a total of 3 times now and everything we ordered was fantastic. Clam chowder was light and filled with fresh seafood. Spaghetti and sausage in meat sauce was traditional and yummy too. You really can't go wrong with any of the food choices here but the real gem of this place is Mark. He is the essence of a great soul with the urge to fill everyone's belly with his family's delicious recipes. He goes out of his way to make each customer feel like family coming over for Sunday dinner. P.S. Get there early for their desserts. After hiking Peter's Canyon, my wife and I were unknowingly in Brava's parking lot and pulled up Yelp to find something close. Luckily this restaurant came up first. While I believe their intention is for takeout, there are a few tables out front so we ate there. Any other review on this site correctly praises Mark as a huge asset to the business - welcoming and serving us as though we were at his own home. On top of this, we had some GREAT food and remarkably low prices. I was so pleased with the visit that I bought lunch for my office later that week (partly so I could come back for the eggplant parmesan which was really tasty). Everyone at the office loved the meal. Brava Cucina is definitely on my short list when thinking of places to eat. read more

This place is a find! We really miss the restaurant that closed due to the shopping center owner being greedy and raising the rent so high they couldn't operate anymore. I hope they open another one soon,but on the mean time takeout fills the void. This is the only place I have found Arancini, and it's awesome. I recommend it with Ameat sauce, or Alfredo sauce. The spaghetti is a HUGE portion. We really miss the cooked Carrara from the restaurant. They were so sweet and a great side dish to the spaghetti. The only veg they have is broccoli. PLEASE START MAKING THE CARROTS FROM THE RESTURANT HERE!!! The garlic bread is also great. Eggplant Volantini is so good too. Really have not found anything that wasn't good here! my friends and I were super excited to try a local spot that was close to our home. We waited a bit over an hour to receive our order we placed online, and when we received it, it was horrible, the lasagna cheese was squeaky and chewy. The tomato sauce was bland and tasteless. The gnocchi is chewy and couldn't even tell that the "potato" that was supposedly inside.
