    Entrecote grille

Have been going here for over 30 years and very seldom, if ever, disappointed. This time with five of us, the restaurant was quiet, but the waiters looked after us very well. Foie gras and poached eggs with mushrooms (as shared starters), then entrecôte, chateaubriand, duck and two different types of fish as main course. All enjoyable although my wife's pasta (which came with the xxx) was rather greasy. Dessert was Ile flottant, crime brûlée and chocolate moelleux ( the first is the best) then coffee and digestiv. So food was great, ambiance pleasant; overall a lovely evening. PS if you do think of going back again, or going to the other brasserie's in the "chain", then I recommend you get the "esprit de brasserie" loyalty card. Gets you 10% reduction, plus points towards free wine, appetizers etc. Hadn't used mine for three years but still worked fine.

AH-MAZING. Thank you, Yelp, for pointing me in the direction of this gem of a restaurant in such a questionable area. We literally walked 3 blocks from our seedy hotel area and all of a sudden I found exactly what I went to Paris looking for. Charming and friendly staff, decor that is reminiscent of old Paris, a crowd mixed with locals and tourists, and the most delicious but simple food. We both got the 35€ starter/main/dessert menu. Started with the duck foie gras and the half dozen oysters. I won't comment on the foie gras since I have never been a fan every single time I've tried it. The oysters were big, juicy, and fresh! For mains I had the grilled filet of Norwegian salmon and my boyfriend had the farmhouse chicken plate on top of seasonal veggies. I don't even know how to describe how much I loved everything. I've never had chicken so juicy and tasty! Dessert was creme brûlée and the apricot gazpacho. The creme brûlée was delicious and had a subtle hint of bourbon. The gazpacho was interesting! It almost reminded me of syrup, but not so sweet? This might have been on the bottom of my Flo totem pole along with the foie gras which is on the bottom of my life totem pole. If I am ever in Paris again, I'm definitely coming back here!

Another five star experience! Host gave us English menus this time! We had the salmon, daily salad, and molten chocolate cake. My fella mirrored my meal from the other night. We got a full meal for two for 93 euros this time! So far I have counted five staff that were fluent in English and one older tall fella with white hair who had to warm up to the Americans useless at French. I still give them five as he replaced himself with someone who could work with us.

My GF and I were looking for a restaurants where we could eat oysters before leaving Paris. We came across this restaurant during our yelp search. First off, the food was really good (we give it a 5 star rating);however, there is NO WAY this is a two euro sign (8-20€ per person) restaurant. The cheapest deal is 30€ for a starter and entree or an entree and dessert. The a la carte menu probably averages to 20-25€ a plate. Now to the food. The oysters are really good. Very fresh. They are accompanied with a vinegar and onion dressing/sauce/topping (very tasty on the oysters). My GF ordered the salmon which came with potatoes, tomatoes, and zucchini. I had the duck which was like a piece of steak. The side dishes to the duck were also very good. It came with a fried mash potato ball that was delicious. It also came with the dark meat of the duck breaded and fried. For dessert we had the creme brûlée which was fantastic. Very creamy! Highly recommend if you're looking to have a good meal; however, don't expect a small bill.

We arrived early at 7:30pm and were worried because it was empty. They were filled by 8:30pm. Great food and very fresh seafood tower.

We started with Oeufs mayonnaise, which is a hard boiled egg topped with mayo. This was quite a simple dish, but definitely got us prepped for the meal. They initially made a mistake on our order and sent us the veal fingers. After rectifying the mistake, they ended up comping it, so we got an additional appetizer to try. The fried fish went well with the tartar sauce. For the mains, we got the bavette frites with bearnaise sauce and steak tartare with frites. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying, the flavors were excellent and each bite had me wanting more. If you haven't tried tartare before, give it a try here because it was delish! For dessert, we shared the Paris-Brest, a choux pastry topped with mousseline, pralines and roasted hazelnuts. We enjoyed sharing it and it made for a sweet end to our dinner. Overall, this was a great meal to start our trip, everything we had was delicious and my expectations were met!

The staff was all very friendly and inviting and were happy to recommend their favorite dishes to us. My wife ordered a French onion soup and one of their famously large salads, which are served in these big bowls. I decided to try the chef's special, which was a beef tenderloin a la rossini (truffle sauce and foie gras). I'm not typically a foie gras fan, but I figured since we're in Paris that I'd give it a shot. I'm very glad I did because it was absolutely delicious. The steak melded perfectly with the truffle sauce and fois gras. This was all served with potatoes au gratin, and blanched green beans. Everything was perfect. I also ordered two large beers. A Grimbergin blonde and a Kronenbourg ale. I love how both beers were served in their respective brand's glasses. Such a nice touch. For dessert, we ordered an Apple Tarte Tartin, upon a recommendation from one of the staff. It was light, sweet, and served with some ice cream and créme fraîce. This was such a great dinner all around. Great food, great vibes, which all lead to a great evening. Would definitely recommend!

Big disappointment this one. I bookmarked it based on all the positive reviews. Apparently I was…read moresupposed to order the big cheap salad with potatoes. It wasn't on the menu. For New Year's Eve they offered a special menu, 79 € per person. The host outside who convinced us to splurge for the special occasion said our kiddo wouldn't pay full price. Spoiler: that's not how it went. We were seated in back by the restrooms, with the sound of the hand-dryer serenading our meal. From what I could tell, apart from the staff, there wasn't a single French-speaking person in the whole place, a bad sign. For appetizers we had the escargots, which could have benefited from more garlic and butter, the foie gras, which was fine, and the smoked salmon, which was a generous portion, and very smokey. For my main, I ordered the duck in honey sauce, which would have been a good plate, served with salad, but for some reason they plated it with cold vegetables: green beans, bell pepper, and eggplant under congealing butter--Tasted like it was made ahead of time and they forgot to reheat it out of the fridge before scooping onto my plate. Total fail. My kiddo got the knuckle of lamb, which was fatty and gristly, although the mashed potatoes underneath were delicious, and my wife chose the fettuccine with shrimp and scallops, which were both overcooked and the scallops were crunchy, which was weird, served over way too much plain noodles. The desserts were good, but we paid over 240 € for three, with only one drink each, making it both the most expensive and also least delicious meal of our trip so far. Staff were friendly and attentive, and all addressed us in English, even though I'm fluent in French, which makes sense for a tourist trap. Would not recommend, unless maybe you just get the big cheap salad, seemingly that's what the 5-star reviews are for.

**EXCELLENT WINES AND SIMPLE RUSTIC FRENCH CUISINE**…read more Wonderfully friendly staff. Welcomed immediately with a glass of red wine. Very small restaurant. No tourists; only locals and repeat French customers. We sat outside. ORDERED: *FOIE GRAS House made and simply DIVINE on freshly toasted baguette bread. I wanted to take a bath in this. OMG! *DUCK CONFIT Beautiful leg served with scalloped potatoes. The meat could have been a bit more tender, but overall a good solid entree. *FRUIT TART Good, but not great. The pastry could have baked a bit longer. Loved the sweet plums though. We also ordered a bottle of their excellent Cabernet France for 17 euros. My darling didn't care for their espresso and I was not impressed with their version of a cappuccino. Dinner altogether was 73 euros. OTHER NOTES ============= Some of their staff members are from Le Mascote restaurant, but since the restaurant is currently closed; they cooked and served here. Same quality of food; cheaper in price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the wine, foie gras, and any seafood dish. They have great daily specials.

The menu consists of typical French fare with your duck confit and your steak tartar etc. The wine is sold by volume and all priced at the same rate. For lunch, we had the duck confit and the Lyon sausages (one of the day's specials). The waiter recommended a strong red wine to go with the duck and a lighter, younger chilled red to go with the sausages. He hit it spot on in terms of the pairing. Both main courses were simple and delicious. We ended our meal with wonderful house-made chocolate mousse. Having stumbled onto this little place on the last day of our week long trip in Paris, we were pleasantly surprised with our wonderful experience at Le Colibri. Simple and authentic, this is definitely our favourite place to eat in Paris.
