I recently had an experience where the pharmacist took the initiative to research alternatives on a prescription and how my insurance would cover the alternatives. As a result, he switched me from a generic to a name brand and saved me $140 on the refill. Not many pharmacies would think or bother to do that for you.

No explanation, no I'm sorry, etc. Totally ignored! Well, Pharmacist shows up later and asks what the problem is. I tell her this Rx is always $4.25 (Medicare). She tells me this IS the generic price $118 !! I asked her to check my records 90 days earlier to see the correct price. She doesn't want to hear it ‍ Just tells me it is $118. I tell her I am not going to sit in the drive thru and debate this; just refund my money. Well that was another can of worms ..... duh, we're good at taking money, but don't know how to give it back My refund came through and they lost three customers in my household alone !! I have SingleCare coupon for Concerta for $39.65 but because my insurance covers same drug at $59.76 CVS steals the $20.11 for perceived benefit to the customer. They blatantly stated that it was my "perception" that I was gettting ripped off even though the basic math shows that very fact. They were extremely nice while stealing my money though. So they have that going for them.
