First, Anthony and Matt are hilarious and made waiting in the waiting area a blast. They also have wi-fi here so I was able to work while I was sitting there at one of the two little mini desks they have. (Convenient and awesome? Yes.) I think the main reason I wanted to post this review was that they were honest with me about what I needed. I had come in because I'd done my original brake job on my 8 year old car at a different Brakes Plus location and wanted to come back when I thought they were squeaking and the pads might be low. Instead of just telling me I needed to replace them and taking my money, the guys were honest and told me I had 1/2 the pads left and didn't need to worry about it. They did mention some other things I could do, but there was NO pressuring sales tactics. It was just a "hey, FYI, if you wanna do this since you're here." I ended up doing one of them and they even gave me a coupon that was floating around that I hadn't had! Sometimes these corporate automotive stores can be sketchy. They always seem to try to get deep in your pocket. Of course the management and employees can make all the difference. Took a 100k mile car in thinking it needed brakes. They could have scammed me out of brake job. They didn't and were completely transparent of the condition of the pads. Plus checked the oil and it was also in good shape. They did do my state inspection in record time and Didn't try to sell me some useless items. *1/2 a star* I brought my Jeep in for a basic state inspection and was told by Brian my insurance card needed to have a current date. Which is stupid since you can clearly see on my current insurance card it's for a 12 month period. Nevertheless, I sent a picture of my insurance card showing August 1, 2016 to August 1, 2017 and he was still saying he couldn't do it! So basically, they had me and my coworker, who did me a favor and followed me up there to drop my vehicle off driving around back-and-forth. These knuckleheads don't even know how to read but they want to work on your car? They were argumentative and arrogant. I went back to brakes plus, showed the ins card and left with my Jeep. I didn't want them touching after this fiasco. I will never take my vehicles here again. My friends and family will know about my experience as well. I had an excellent experience at this location last Saturday for my son's Mini Cooper. They replaced pads, rotors, and sensors all the way around, flushed the brake fluid and did an oil change. I had the worst curb check of my life yesterday (how stereotypical of me, I know!) and was in a panic that I had severely damaged my car that I just dropped a ton of money on to fix. I came in 10 minutes before they were about to close. Brakes Plus had 4 customers waiting to pick up their cars and they STILL checked out my car without hesitation! T hankfully, they quickly figured out the problem (I had messed up my muffler so THAT'S why my car was "growling" at me haha) and were kind enough to fix the dent in it promptly with a giant crowbar... FOR FREE! I nearly hugged the employee because I was so happy but refrained because I didn't want him to think me strange. I had a great experience yesterday at this Brakes Plus location. I had all four brakes redone, a cooling system flush, oil change and wiper blades installed. Blake did a fantastic job of making sure the work was done on time and took the time to explain all charges. They even shuttled me to and from work so that I wasn't sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours. The fees charged were very reasonable (I used coupons from their website for all services). Worst experience ever. I booked an appointment to get an alignment done, and three hours later I call for an update and they haven't even touched my car yet. After speaking with the guy over the phone, he claims he can't find my appointment time. The guy was trying to argue with me on the phone, and I am the customer. I am so disgusted with this service that I will definitely stop coming to this location until new management arrives. I've been keeping my Honda Odyssey in top condition here for 5 years now, it's time to review :) My husband also get his GMC truck worked on here. They are always friendly and listen to my problem. After they check it out I get a detailed estimate and we decide on the best solution together. They have successfully fixed many problems with my van. I'm very satisfied with their service and will be back. Bonus: Brakes Plus on Ohio has also dropped me off where I need to go while they work on it and call me when it is ready. My only complaint is the waiting room TV but they happily change the channel for me if I ask so it's really not a complaint, I just don't like most things on TV! read more

So I came here to get my brakes done today. I feel like I have been kind of screwed kn the past because I'm a woman amd honestly I don't know anything about cars. So I actually spent 45 mins last night researching brakes and brake parts, etc. so I wouldn't go in without a clue. Let me tell you I wenr in ready to flex with new found car knowledge. But alas it wasn't needed. Anyways, the guys there were SUPER nice and honest. No stupid extra charges on my bill. Billing was short and to the point which I appreciated. Also their prices were VERY fair unlike other people. (Cough, cough...Midas). They weren't pushy with the upsell either. The inside was quiet and clean. Complementary water and coffee. I had on one of my brother's USMC shirt and was a small discount which was really touching. But instead I used on of their AWESOME online coupons. FYI-brake pads have a lifetime warranty. Another plus is that it is in a great location. Walmart, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, McDonalds (down the block), Sam's, Burger King and a whole shoppimg center with restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I recommend coming here and I'll def return for my car. read more

My car blew a hose for the a\c. I took it to Brakes Plus on Ohio and 121. After paying the 1300+ I drove my car home. shortly after leaving my house next day the car begins to die and every warning light was coming on all at one I was able to make it back to brakes plus before it died completely they then tell me its my alternator which was less then a year old they said it tested bad i asked for the part back I had it tested and it was good. they charged me another 360 for an alternator I didn't need. 3 weeks later the A/C is not working correctly i take it back and they tell me there is no leaks and its the compressor they give me a quote for the compressor for 900, I take it to a new mechanic and they inform me my compressor is fine but there was no freon in the A/C and that there was an OBVIOUSE leak i left that shop with cold A/C a new hose EITHER BREAKS PLUSE'S MECHANICS ARE NO GOOD OR ELSE THEY ARE CROOKS TELLING WOMEN THEY NEED NEW PARTS WHEN NOT NEEEDED. Oh and by the way...they blew my battery fuse and charge me 39.99 for the mistake they made. The battery fuse was probably blown when they did the a/c work. sent me home , it took 24 hrs for the battery to die and the cars has total electrical failure. but they lie and say Alternator. calls me and even says they blew the battery fuse. They wont admit to their mistakes but offer me 3 free oil changes. Hell if I want them touching my car again. Get a 2nd opinion whenever dealing with SHADY MACHANICS. I want my $ back for all the unneccessary car parts I had them replace before I realized they were incompetent. read more

Excellent service on my Mercedes SUV replacing brakes. I was hesitant to bring in my vehicle outside of the dealer. I was a walk-in,assessed my vehicle 3 hrs. I was in and out with new brake pads and rotors. Initially the guy that checked me in,told me he would not be able to service my vehicle that day, another associate who I believe is the manager walked in and said we will service it today! These technicians work fast! Fact: these technicians can work wherever they want as long as they go to these one day certification programs for the dealer. The only difference is the service you receive and on Saturday,I was fairly impressed minus the sticker shock. If you own a foreign car like me, don't hesitate to bring your vehicle here. read more

These guys are shady idiots. I took my Murano in because it would only idle at 20mph; like wouldn't go above 25mph. They said it was the catalytic converters but I already had one replaced at another brakes plus. So they said all 3 would need to be replaced. So I got hit with 1600$ replacing them. Car ran sluggish when they were done. After a week, it started the idle mode. I noticed the battery would have a low voltage. Replaced battery. Issues persist. Went to a different store (not a Brakes Plus) and asked them to check the alternator. It was alternator the whole time. This is only part of the story. The idiots at the previous store screwed up my acceleration thinking it had something to do with acceleration pedal. They kept my car 5 days before they transferred it to this "main" office with "specialized" mechanics. Lol. I wouldn't trust them to replace a light bulb.... read more

Had my oil changed and U joint replaced here, my drain plug was stripped which I guess could've been coincidence or stripped by the previous shop but the only way I found out was a puddle of oil under my car when I got home, thankfully the plug didn't fall out on the way home to cause an engine failure, I went back to let them know they left me a leaking plug and quoted me $1400 for a new drain pan. Also had to have my U joint replaced again within 18 months. read more

I had gone for 2 services First for 5000 Mile service which included Tire-Rotation along with topping of fluids and checks etc etc. Second was for Alignment. Firstly my car needs 5W20 oil, they just put the generic/bulk 5W30 even when i insisted for the recommended oil. They did not check things and top off fluids. They came to me with the drain plug saying that the threads are worn, and we need to replace the same, they charged me 9.99 for the drain plug (i checked online you get the drain-plug for around 1-3 dollars), and the new drain plug had a hard time to be turned into its place, i'm thinking they have screwed my oil drain pan's threads, requiring costly repairs when i go next for an oil change. While rotating tires the tire fell from the raised car on the plastic wheel cover cracking the same, as far as oil change/5K service goes i was utterly disappointed Alignment was done without a problem. When the car was finally handed over to me, my driver seat where having black engine oil stains on seat and head-rest, and dirt in the car elsewhere. I was not statisfied with the service. read more
