Brought in an old car because the brake pedal had to be pushed down super far to stop. Was told it needed master cylinder and stuff to fix. $1,000 later, I picked it up and there was zero difference. They said it was a faulty part. Ok. A couple of days later when it was finally finished I was told it needed another $2,500 worth of work to make it like normal but it's "better". It's hardly better. But whatever....its an old car (2002). Would have been nice to have been told all of this upfront. However, I really didn't appreciate how dirty they left the car. Since this is an occasional driver, told to replace and check to see if drums could be turned, yes they can. Rear brake job about $200. They did not do the full job just installed new cylinder and charged $345.00. My rear brakes do not work. Becarful, they are not full service at all. read more

Was quoted 5k to have the entire brake system redone. Went to the dealership and all they had to do was re-calibrate the system after a repair I did myself prior to the visit. Made a complaint to regional and was told to send prof. Sent the prof and no respond after about two weeks of emailing, followed up and nothing. Got my truck's front and rear rotors and brakes pads replaced by this place. Of course I paid for the premium brake pads which are "lifetime" warrantied. Well, the first issue was that when they replaced the left rear rotor, they disconnected my parking brake. Took it back for them to fix, and it's better but not the same as before. Second, front brakes started screaming like a panther in just a matter of a month after getting the work done. Took the truck back to them and the mechanic said he could not replicate the sound. I lived with the squealing for a few months longer, but could not deal with it any longer. I finally filmed the truck and the sound as proof, took the truck back, and the mechanic mentioned there was wear on the rotors just 7 months after being replaced. However, since labor is only warranted for 6 months, and I was in month 7, I was going to have to pay the labor for them to fix a complete brake job that I complained about squealing months ago. Needless to say, stay away from this place and go get your vehicle taken care of by the dealer. You may pay more, but at least you can be sure to get quality parts and workmanship. My concern is that NONE of the employees are wearing masks to help prevent Covid and only some customers. I'm losing faith that any brakes shop is going to do an honest days work on any of my cars. I went in for a new carbon vent and to replace the hose for my windshield wipers. Just Brakes did not fix either issue, charged me nearly 300 dollars for nothing. I Waited 3 hours for a part that cost less than the "labor" it took to install it, and my windshield wipers still don't work. They wanted to charge more labor to fix the additional issue on my wipers, and on top of that, quoted me the price for a 2 year old battery + labor, that cost more than a three year battery at Auto Zone. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because one of the mechanics/manager a few years ago really helped me out when I was in a bind financially. I really wanted to leave a better review, but I just left feeling disappointed and let down by yet another auto shop. read more

Stopped in real quick because they were the closest place to me when driving down the highway I heard the underpinning of my car flapping as it was Previously damaged and just pieced back up in there as a temporary fix to try and hold me over a little longer. Went in there and they didn't even hesitate to get it back there and take a look for me... Come to find out the previous place completely lied to me when they told me I was only missing one screw these guys confirmed I was missing five screws and that's why clearly was not holding even temporarily. They fixed it up within five minutes for me I saw several guys trying to help out to get it done quicker and they were also the sweetest. I will definitely be using them if ever need in the future! I got my car towed to the shop next door but had to park it in the brakes plus parking lot and my man Scott came out and asked me what was wrong with it and i had told him the problem i had with it and he offered to check my battery, alternator, and starter for $15. He told me i was gonna have to get a new battery and alternator and he told me the price and i asked him how long it would take and he said a couple of hours. This Brakes Plus location deserves 5-star! I went there on a Friday afternoon after making an hour earlier. Mike checked me in and got my details. I told him what the car issues were. He then arranged for a shuttle to drop me at work. An hour later, I get a call from him giving me the details of the issues that my car had and he made sure that they have my approval before they get started on the repair work. Prior to calling me, he also made sure that they had all the spare parts ready. He gave me an estimated time on when I could call back to check. When I called back, the car was all fixed and ready to go. The general manager came to pick me up at my work and dropped me at the location. He also helped me with the check-out process. I found a bunch of coupons on their website that be used - he made sure that the best deal was given to me. My repair was about $75 cheaper than what the dealer quoted me - not surprising, I guess. Brakes Plus is an honest and reliable maintenance shop. They have always taken great care of me. Unfortunately, I was trying to get a quick inspection today at a place near my house - Kwik Kar on Custer. I should have just gone straight to Brakes Plus for an honest inspection. Kwik Kar said I would need thousands of $$'s of repairs - overhaul of my power steering system, new belts, coolant system repair, transaxle repair, etc. Suspecting that they were scamming me, I took my car to Brakes Plus. They inspected my car and said that it passed easily. In addition, they are able to see what other shops have tried to inspect my car and they looked at the results from Kwik Kar. The database showed that my car had actually PASSED inspection!!!!! Kwik Kar lied to me and was trying to steal from me by recommending unnecessary repairs. Thankfully the guys at Brakes Plus were honest. I will not make the mistake of using someone else again. read more

Sometimes these corporate automotive stores can be sketchy. They always seem to try to get deep in your pocket. Of course the management and employees can make all the difference. Took a 100k mile car in thinking it needed brakes. They could have scammed me out of brake job. They didn't and were completely transparent of the condition of the pads. Plus checked the oil and it was also in good shape. They did do my state inspection in record time and Didn't try to sell me some useless items. First, Anthony and Matt are hilarious and made waiting in the waiting area a blast. They also have wi-fi here so I was able to work while I was sitting there at one of the two little mini desks they have. (Convenient and awesome? Yes.) I think the main reason I wanted to post this review was that they were honest with me about what I needed. I had come in because I'd done my original brake job on my 8 year old car at a different Brakes Plus location and wanted to come back when I thought they were squeaking and the pads might be low. Instead of just telling me I needed to replace them and taking my money, the guys were honest and told me I had 1/2 the pads left and didn't need to worry about it. They did mention some other things I could do, but there was NO pressuring sales tactics. It was just a "hey, FYI, if you wanna do this since you're here." I ended up doing one of them and they even gave me a coupon that was floating around that I hadn't had!
