When we inquired about enrollment, the teacher specifically told us it was too early to enroll but that the time slot we wanted was available. We were instructed to wait until closer to June and were assured someone from the studio would contact us to finalize enrollment. Since no one ever reached out, I called the office on May 27th to get her enrolled. To my dismay, I was informed that the class was completely full. It was a big surprise, especially since we learned there had been a family on a waitlist for that same spot since April, a detail that was never communicated to us during our May visit.

The kids have so much fun and they gain experience and knowledge about Laguna Beach by doing activities such as: -exploring the marine preserve -riding on a paddle board -riding the trolley -swimming in the ocean past where the waves break -exploring tide pools ...and more. I especially loved hearing about how my child's day went after exploring and experiencing more of Laguna Beach every day. My kid went to this camp for 1 week and it was a lot of sun exposure for them. I'm not sure if they could do more than a week but if it were me personally I would try to do this camp for two weeks atleast in the summer (spread out between weeks) to gain more confidence in these ocean activities. Chad is trustworthy and fun. He teaches the kids "ocean smarts" and I am truly grateful that we stumbled upon this camp. You will not find any cheap plastic or overly stimulating toys here. Paige carefully selected all furniture, play structures, and toys, to eliminate contact with hazardous materials or chemicals, and to give the babies a natural, open exploration experience. When you walk in, you feel a sense of serenity and calm as a parent, that your child will be able to play and explore freely without constraints. Paige's philosophy in our play group is to maximize the baby's sense of freedom and give them a completely open "yes" space to explore. As a parent, we are of course encouraged to intervene to make sure our baby is safe and that other babies are safe as well. Most of the time, we get to discuss the experience of parenting with other moms and dads, and watch our daughter explore this nicely designed learning space. In the "seeds" class (4-10 months), we begin by discussing what new behavior or movement we observed in our baby. Then we allow all the children to play. I cannot express enough what a joy it is to see my daughter interact with others in harmony, and explore her own interests and abilities. During the play time, Paige will also discuss parenting tips and strategies, often based upon a theme in articles/write ups that she sends to us the week before. Paige then wraps up the class with super fun songs, such as Clean Up, Mr. Sunshine, and many others that both parents and babies enjoy. I have heard stories from other parents about play groups that were unsafe and not entirely conducive towards free play. At My Village, you will be amazed at just how wonderful your baby can play with others if given the right space and teacher. Paige is such a great teacher and host (thanks for the coffee and tea), and always there for support and discussion. Try checking out from her little library too, which offers baby story books and wonderful books on how to parent with respect.

One afternoon I told him I'd pick him up an hour early, and he actually asked if he could stay the full day because he wanted to finish his coding project. As a mom, that was amazing to hear. We receive detailed daily reports that include activities, meals (what and how much they ate), nap times, diaper changes--everything. For example, my son initially didn't know how to eat with his hands, and Ms. Joana and Ms. Katherine patiently helped him and made sure he was always well-fed and supported.
