When learning a new language, it should be fun and exciting. I looked into Language Door and found our forever home. First, the owner Natascha is fantastic. She's multi lingual and very hands on. She loves what she does and it shows with all the students. She knows what teachers would be best for certain students. Second, I love love love Susan and Lupe who work as administrators. Susan is Hungarian and speaks so many languages, I can't keep track. She's kind, a world of knowledge and gives the best hugs. Lupe is smart, multi lingual and wonderful! Every student who walks in is greeted in the language they're learning. There are adults and kids learning Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, etc. The teachers are worldly, my kids love their classes and can't wait to go to school even on Saturday's. While I'm waiting for my kids I get to speak with all the parents who are lovely. Walking in I feel transported to an international setting where people are open minded, multi cultural and inclusive. I wouldn't hesitate making the call! Thanks Language Door for embracing the love of language!

What really makes this place stand out (and believe me I did my research) is that if you want to take a foreign language class with them you can sit in on a few classes before you decide to sign up for the new start date. The owner, Natascha is also extremely attentive and you can tell she loves what she does and goes the extra mile for her students and teachers. I am quite impressed with the level of service provided and it was more than worth it for the price! I plan to sign up for German & Arabic courses shortly after my Advanced Spanish course commences.

Our son has gained so much confidence, and it has been amazing to watch his personal growth. Even more importantly, his health has improved in his time here. He was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood epilepsy, and in the short time he has been at I Can Academy, we have seen his seizure activity cut in half. I believe this is due to a few factors including the positive environment and less stress. We are incredibly grateful for the support, understanding, and positive environment he has received. The teachers are amazing. A few of them are teachers my children have had in the past which made for an easy transition for my son. I hope our experience helps another mom who may be on the fence about homeschooling, just like I was, because for our family, the benefits have by far outweighed any of the negative ideas I had in my head.

The office staff was so warm and welcoming, and our daughter loved picking out her supplies to create her own I Can Academy bag. Her teacher was incredibly kind and created such a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. During the class, I even heard my daughter shout, "I can read!" When it ended, she was smiling and excited to bring home new flash cards to practice blending sounds. A few days later, she had an assessment at a private school for kindergarten, which included sounding out letters and blending them. She did so well--and I couldn't believe how quickly the lessons from the academy had already made an impact. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a warm, child-first learning experience. We highly recommend it!

In all that time, never once, has either of my children ever complained or said anything negative about Miss Evelyn! I think that is amazing. Now that my children have "graduated," they always ask to go back for a visit because they miss her so much. She has unlimited patience with her students. She is always gentle, consistent and playful. My children felt very safe there in all regards. It was like a home away from home and all the while they were learning Spanish. My daughter has the prettiest little accent and my son hit the ground running in his Spanish Immersion Public school. Although elementary immersion programs don't require knowing any of the target language prior to starting, many of the native English speakers find the first few months very intimidating and challenging. My son was already used to school in Spanish so it was such a smooth transition for him. His teacher said my son understood everything and that I had made a good choice with his preschool. He caught on to reading, writing and math very quickly because he was developmentally ready in Kinder and had a firm foundation for the language. I think if I had chosen a very academic preschool he would have been frustrated and unhappy. I'm not saying Miss Evelyn is not academic, she teaches letters and numbers, and provides arts and crafts, but it's not overly rigid. I believe these precious few years should feel safe, relaxed, exploratory and playful; children will have the rest of their school careers to be stressed and told what to do, why not them enjoy preschool. Miss Evelyn's gentle consistency, patience and nurturing teaching was exactly the experience I wanted my children to have. I remember feeling lost and lonely in my large preschool and I didn't want a repeat of that. Miss Evelyn home is always extremely clean and organized. It's evident that she is vigilant about safety. She is always mentally present and engaged with the children. She has a lovely large back yard with lots of grass for running and games. My children have spent countless hours running, playing and giggling on that grass. I know they always get good sunshine and exercise when there. She also has playhouses and little gardening tools. When the weather is nice they can eat outside on the child size table and benches. As I parent, I question all the time the decisions I make. If I could have done better, chosen better or handled something better. Sending my kids to Kiddie Spanish Academy is a decision that I don't question. I do not worry I could have picked a better school. Both my children were very happy, very safe and learned so much! I feel so good about that. Thank you Miss Evelyn!!!!
