My daughter has been coming to Mathnessium ( Foothill Ranch location) since October 2024. From the first approach we had with Grace ( the owner) Lexie and Josh ( the managers) we felt very welcome. I was really stressed with teaching math to my daughter at home. But since we have come to Mathnesium she has been progressing really well in her math. She was assessed 3rd grade but she had already moved up to 4th grade math. She has also built interest in the subject and excited to come for her classes. Grace, Lexie and Josh are very accommodating with classes. Attending classes have changed to drop in system which makes it much more convenient . This way you don't have the stress of being early or late. They manage to have the perfect number of students for each teacher so they can give enough care and attention to each student. Teachers are chosen very carefully therefore they really know what they are doing. Our overall experience has been amazing with this place and they are not all about money . I love this Mathnasium! I researched a lot of places and Mathnasium is the only place that does not pile on additional homework, rather they help your child with the homework they have from school. They also teach the common core method which is consistent with the school. Mathnasium is perfect for a child that truly needs help with math. Most places seem to be suited for parents who want more homework for their already smart child. Plus, THIS Mathnasium is the best because of Grace (the owner). I was at a different Mathnasium doing a 1 month trial, and I missed the "back to school" discount by 1 day because the 31st was a Sunday (and they were closed), I called first thing Monday to sign up for a year contract and was told they could not give me the discount because the deal expired. A week prior, I had told them about a family emergency and that I will sign up on Monday the 1st and they said ok. But when the time came the said I could sign up but not for the discounted amount. They said their "system" won't allow them. I asked if there's anything they can do, and they said no. I found Grace and explained what happened. She immediately gave me the SAME deal, with extra points for my child (so even better), without any hesitation! She has been so amazing and accommodating to us and all our friends that we have referred. She even sponsored our school's Teacher Appreciation Week! This is by far, the best Mathnasium! My daughter struggled with math for a while, and after just 2.5 months at Mathnasium in Foothill Ranch, she made great improvements. She just had her iReady math assessment, and it showed that she went from being a whole grade behind to being ahead of her current grade - in just 2.5 months of tutoring. We are so happy we decided to have her take math lessons at Mathnasium in the summer, so now she is not just ready for the new year; she is ahead. Her confidence is higher, and her interest in math has increased. I am so thankful for what her tutors did. They are very friendly, answer questions, and make her feel comfortable. The studio also gives out points that can be turned into prizes. They do not rush students to complete work, which was important to us as my daughter was already used to hurrying through her homework and thus making more mistakes. Mathnasium taught her to slow down, pay attention, and understand the problem before solving it. They also allow her to bring in homework questions and help her solve the problems she has a a hard time solving. Yes, they are pricey, but they are worth every penny! read more

Our 8 year old daughter joined the Math program a few months ago and we see a huge progress in her academic growth. She attended other programs in the past but going to Mathnasium has brought in a lot more progress in her Math skills. The owner and the tutoring team are very talented and wonderful. I don't even know where to start. I've never been so insulted so quickly and had my child treated so poorly in front of me. Everything started out fine, and I had pleasant conversations with the owner prior to our assessment for my son. When we arrived we were told the assessment would take at *least* an hour and a young gentleman led my son to a table to begin. Once I realized how long it would take, I asked the lady there (don't know her name, because she never introduced herself but it was obvious she had a place there because she watched us like a hawk with her arms crossed) if my other son could work on his homework at one of the many empty tables. She said it would be fine and showed us to a table in the back. So far so good. My son noticed some of the artwork on the wall and got out of his seat to take a closer look. Again, we were in a back corner and far away from anyone else (the place was almost empty). I am very conscientious of appropriate behavior and trust me, looking quietly at the art was appropriate and non disruptive. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the lady watching us with a disapproving look. My son whispered to me that he liked the art, and she shot over and scolded him (for? Really- why do you decorate the walls if no one is supposed to look at it?). She loudly told him he would have to remain in his seat and could not talk or get up (??) He was so surprised and embarrassed his eyes welled up. Ok. First of all, *I'm* his mother. If you have a problem, you address it with me. You do NOT take the liberty to chastise my son or address him in that way. For looking at the wall?? Really? I highly value and instill good behavior in my children. He WAS behaving. After that, I was obviously feeling very uncomfortable. This is not a place I would leave my child. I told her we were done, and she condescendingly told us to, "Have a nice day!" with a big smile. Very professional and mature. There was never any effort to find out why we wouldn't continue or what the issue was. It's clear this has happened before. She was ready. Then when I went to retrieve our contact information sheet, she said loudly, "Oh, you can DEFINITELY take that!" Unbelievable. Was that really really necessary? I don't think your clients or staff were terribly impressed by your behavior. But hey, good luck. Her childish and unprofessional behavior was ten times more disruptive and inappropriate than my child ever was. Also, there is a growling dog that just roams freely, so caution if your kids have dog phobias. So my son had to deal with that on top of trying to focus on his assessment! This place was just... unbelievably unprofessional. read more

I can not say enough good things about this tutoring location. My son had been struggling with math for years. We had a tutor that moved away when my son was in his second half of junior year and I was desperate for help for him. I called and spoke to Roel. He assured me that my son would be in good hands and that his grade would be turned around. They were very flexible with my son's sports schedule and my son went from a D- to a B that semester. From this point on my son's confidence in himself was restored and I am happy to say that he received excellent grades in math for his senior year. Beyond that he understood for the first time what he was being taught in school. He loved working with the highly competent staff at Mathnasium Foothill Ranch. As good as a tutoring center can get! The staff at Mathnasium is wonderful, they are very attentive to my daughters geometry needs. Math isn't everyone's favorite especially when your child is frustrated. With Roel's help he taught my daughter just what she was expected to know and more! She now has an "A" geometry.
