My high school sophomore was stressed and having difficulty grasping geometry in his second semester. I called Berktree and Kiana set up an evaluation session for my son and presented a plan of two sessions per week to get him back on track. After a month, my son's test scores went from C's to B'a and A's and his test anxiety was alleviated. Our daughter (Kinder going to 1st grade) took reading and math lessons with Kiana over the summer. The best part about the lessons is actually learning from Kiana on how to teach/assist our daughter to read and do math (and how to keep it up!). My husband and I have learned so much from Kiana. Long over due Yelp review! Berktree Learning Center was a great find during my daughter's elementary school years for her reading and writing deficiencies. She was struggling with reading comprehension tests and had poor writing for assignments & tests. I discovered Berktree Learning after calling around & getting estimates for in-home tutors. Kiana Berkman was selected because of her kind, patient, & friendly demeanor with my daughter. My daughter was very insecure & lacked confidence in her reading & writing ability after being so unsuccessful since 2nd grade. Kiana & her tutors focused on getting my daughter up to speed within 6 months & shortly after began assigning my daughter with advanced, challenging & above grade level reading & writing assignments after each tutoring session. We utilized Berktree Learning Tree for 3 years, once a week for 1.5 hours. By the end of 5th grade, we decided to give my daughter a break from tutoring as long as she maintained As in her Language Arts classes in her 3 years of middle school which was no problem for her. My daughter became a strong & confident writer with Berktree Learning Tree's help & guidance. My daughter has started back up again in Sepember 2019, now getting Accelerated Geometry tutoring with Kiana on a weekly basis. I don't often write reviews but Kiana and the Berktree Learning team have been a lifesaver since the transition to distance education. Physics has always been difficult for me to grasp, and medical physics felt like I was trying to learn a foreign language. When my university made the decision to close, my access to office hours/help rooms/etc drastically decreased and I was starting to feel defeated. We came to Berktree because my son started to struggle in semester 2 of high school algebra I and his grade had fallen to a C. With four months of tutoring from Katia at Berktree, he gained an A- on the final and a B+ in the course. It was such a good experience that we decided he would take geometry online, guided by Berktree. With Kiana's instruction, he has maintained an A in the Brigham Young University online course with a couple months to go. My son is on the autism spectrum. Both Kiana and Katia not only have been great at explaining the concepts to him and keeping him on track, but they've been very patient and understanding of his quirks. Kiana, his current tutor, is flexible when we need to reschedule and even goes above and beyond, such as treating him to lunch for good work or staying late to talk with him on some of his favorite topics. I strongly recommend Berktree, not only for neurotypical kids, but also those on the spectrum or with unique learning styles. read more

Kiana is AMAZING! My daughter has always struggled in math and we have worked with several experienced tutors, who we thought were quite helpful, but unfortunately, her test scores never improved. These guys had an odd advertisement pitch for their SAT tutoring. They claimed they could bring my younger brother's score "50% closer to perfect". Kind of an odd claim, until you think about it ... basically, in the pre-tests done before the tutoring, my brother was scoring close under 1300 out of 2400. When all was said and done, my brother's SAT score was above 1800, exactly what our family wanted him at for college applications. Since I was the one paying for this, I was afraid I would be short-changing my brother by not getting him to one of the more common places like "Princeton Review", but for a lower price, my brother was able to get premium one-on-one SAT tutoring, and I couldn't be happier for it! read more

Love this Academy! Our son wasn't doing well in an online homeschooling program. We wanted to keep him in. Kianna and Danny are fantastic teachers! They motivated and pushed our son, through the homeschool program, taught him how to play Chess, and garden! it was a great experience! One of the best advantages to BLC is that they are very felxible and have an array of opportunities for students. For instance they offered me many different programs and if i needed to they would of been willing to customize a plan for my needs. If i ever had problems understanding difficult concepts or equations the tutors would break down or relate them to things i can understand. Also they have a surprising amount of patients for difficult students( Personally i would go crazy if i were them). Ive been attending BLC for 2 years now, and i have never seen or heard one of the tutors disrespect or yell at their students. We have been coming here for 3 months now for private tutor sessions. My daughter who is in 1st grade struggled with math and we spent many nights in tears trying to get through the homework before coming to Berktree.
