Stopped here on a road trip - friend and I were trying to avoid one of the million Subway's or McDonald's and get an authentic experience. The decor: is it tacky? Kind of. Is it enjoyable? Oddly, yes. It was relatively empty because we were there at 1pm on a Monday, so we enjoyed sitting at a table right up against the window overlooking the duck pond. Sure, the theme might be a little overdone, but it was certainly better than sitting under fluorescent lights at a fast food chain on the side of the highway. The food: delicious. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap (which was filling but actually surprisingly fresh and didn't make me feel gross), and the fries were some of the best I've ever had, no joke. I'm usually not the biggest fan of french fries: they're either too bland or just too unhealthy, but I'm glad I have Brady's a try because they actually tasted like potatoes (!!), weren't drenched in salt, and went very well with the delicious honey mustard. Only complaint was there were more skins on my plate than I would like. Oh, and dessert? The mudslide brownie sundae, was phenomenal. Tasted deliciously homemade (no store bought brownie nonsense) and big enough to share between two, although I could have finished it myself :) The service: Our waitress was a young woman who didn't say much (maybe shy) but nevertheless an excellent server, very accommodating and efficient, and it certainly helped that the food was quick due to there not being many people there. And yes, feeding the ducks is fun. Overall, we were very glad we drove the two miles up the road from the exit to get the experience. Good food, good times. read more

This place could easily be a 5 for some people. The celery sesame seed dressing is as excellent as advertised. The ambience is fitting to the style restaurant they are shooting for. I had the ribs and they were ok. I've had awesome ribs so I may be judging too harshly. There is a lot on the menu and I was too gutless to try some of items marked as "favorites". Over all it was average. Taking into consideration this place is in the middle of nowhere, I was pleased and I would eat here again. read more

Best experience of our long weekend in the area. My husband and I travel to eat, and this spot can't be missed. It is the quintessential classic American restaurant. It is the little things that they did well that many establishments miss this days... like heating up the marinara sauce for dipping and bringing hot rolls. I'll give you 5 stars for your food because it is excellent. However, I was very disappointed today. My husband and I went for lunch and had a great meal. But right before we left, a really big saw fell off the wall and smacked me on the arm. It did hurt and it cut my arm (small cut but still there was blood). A waitress ( not ours) came over and said " when you move, I'll pick that up". No " are you ok? Did you get hurt? ". The only one to ask me if I was ok was the table next to us. We were just stopping through town and found this little place from our hotel's front desk. The food was good, the service was quick, but the best part was the staff. I'm sure reading reviews you noticed the definite "locals vs. travelers" vibe....Well, I'm a local who is embarrassed by the attitudes of other listed here (more on that later) First off, the ONE STAR rating is because of the cleanliness of Brady's & ridiculously slow service. Both issues have gotten progressively worse to warrant this rating. Take a seat, hope you're distracted enough by the duck pond view & country decor to NOT NOTICE the air return ducts in the ceilings and the ABSOLUTE FILTH on ceiling surrounding them. Look up at any grill in dining ceiling, above salad bar or bathrooms!!! But don't breathe deep & cover your food cause that nasty air is circulating everywhere. Bathrooms are so bad, use the McDonalds gas station instead!! Check out ceiling grills here too. There are local seedy taverns with bathrooms in better shape. Bathroom doors don't even close - NO PAPER TOWELS, So I assume the servers hands are as clean as the air quality. Why hang signs that all food servers must wash & dry hands when you can watch the teenage waitresses leaving bathroom wiping hands on their jeans/hips. CHEAP, CHEAP, cheap!!! Automatic paper towel dispensers control costs & your customers would appreciate the option over that stone-age air hand dryer!!! Save your $$$ & don't bother with the Stewart's Rootbeer varieties. They are attractively displayed on a shelf BEHIND the salad bar, but they serve them right from that NICE WARM SHELF!!! Great, charge me nearly $3 bucks for a single serving WARM ROOT BEER! Thank you ..... I recently stood for 20+ minutes to pick up a $50 take-out order for our office. OWNER HIMSELF stood at cash register discussing weather with another local for the ENTIRE 20+ minutes, did NOT give a crap if I wanted a table or needed help. That weather conversation was priority!!! I finally stepped into waitress station area & flagged down waitress I know to get our order (which was cold of course!) WAITRESS APOLOGIZED FOR THE OWNER (doesn't that beat all!!! ) Owner then checked me out, asked how the tourists are at our business, but never acknowledged my wait or apologized for not getting someone else to get out order faster. We no longer order there for office lunches, that's saying something considering this was my crew's go-to for 1-2 days week!! Back to the attitude of the locals. Brady's illustrates my point perfectly!!!! Our community is fueled by tourists & the chamber of commerce & others work hard to bring that demographic here. Yet many locals need a reality check. Whether directly or indirectly -your paychecks come from the tourist flow as well!!! Would you prefer tourists travel to Somerset? There are MANY better lodging & dining options there, so be careful what you wish for!!! Brady's is making a killing off the tourist trade but not bothering to spend anything on even basic maintenance OR cleaning. ? ?? How's the kitchen if they don't care to clean where customers can notice the dirt??!!! And customer service doesn't thrive if even an owner's attitude is sorely lacking. I hope it turns around, used to be a local gem. But someone needs to take a hard look at things as they are now. read more

A classic family owned restaurant. I've been here many times over the years and I know exactly what to expect. The decor is western PA to a tee complete with deer heads and fire places. They have a decent menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is always solid. The food is good, not fine dining, but never disappointing. I prefer them for breakfast or lunch as opposed to dinner. I would recommend dessert if you have room for it, as the pies are pretty good. Prices are very reasonable. You also have the added bonus of taking an old loaf of bread with you and feeding the ducks at the ponds after dining especially if you have kids. This place is quick and efficient. This is a nice place to stop in and eat. The breakfast we grabbed here had good flavor. My issue with this place was they served lukewarm (nearer to cold than hot) sausage gravy and biscuits. The bacon was good and the food came out in under 10 minutes which is helpful when one has three little ones. The coffee was hot and decent as well. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying their pie. This was the place recommended by our hotel and I can see why. It has a large interior and wonderful view of ducks at a pond. Definitely choose this place over Howard's Cafe. Stopped in here since there really isn't much in Donegal area. Has that outdoor feeling as decor. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was ok...needed more mayo. Portion was decent since I wasnt really hungry. My buddy had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and he said it was good too. Total bill with tip was under 30 bucks so not bad at all. We were staying at a bland Day's Inn down the road and wanted a breakfast spot with a little local color. The hotel recommended Brady's and it was just what we were looking for. Funky duck hunting decor, old school look to the place, friendly waitresses and lots of local folks having big breakfasts and saying hi to their friends. We had the eggs, hash browns, toast and it was all fine. Nothing amazing, but reasonably priced and just what we were looking for. Can't vouch for the rest of the day's menus, but it was great for an all-American breakfast. read more

Every single time I eat here, I am satisfied. This place is a must for all tourists and people who are from the area.

I dont normally leave terrible reviews, but I can honestly say that I had the absolute most disgusting meatloaf ever here! It had the look, taste (presumably), and smell of canned dog food. I even had my friend taste it to see if my taste buds were maybe messed up or something. She concurred! It was really bad. The waitress never asked how are food was and when she took our plates I told her it was bad. She never acknowledged the statement. I will definitely never spend my money there again. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Bradys several times. The food is ok. The ducks are neat but once the seating area where you can actually see them was closed off. Really? The service is average and.......Mike, the owner is the unfriendliest , if that's a word, man I ever met. He seems to walk around and say hello to some folks, regulars, I presume. When my husband finally made eye contact with him as he was walking past our table and we attempted to ask him a question about salad bar.... he gave us a quick nod and moved on. Seriously?? This breakfast was highly underwhelming. All the locals in the town were there but that didn't mean anything. My sausage had no flavor, my "home fries" were slices of cold unflavored potatoes and the cinnamon French toast had an unexplainable horrible flavor (think week old dish rag) along with also being cold. En route back from a road trip from a touristy place Brady's was a pleasant surprise and a fantastic deviation from the touristy food we ate (pizza and fries). The menu is large enough to please all kinds of palates of all ages. Their bread rolls come out warm and based off the smell, good enough for me to get off my gluten free diet. I had a chicken cranberry salad which was not only delicious (chicken was so tender), but it was also HUGE. Steak and mushrooms was good too. When looking at all the entrees at our table and others, it seems as though all the portions are large enough for a hearty eater or for two people to split. The decor is dated but that's what makes it so down home comfortable! They are also very patient and good with kids so it's extremely family friendly. On our way out, multiple waitresses let us know there were old bread rolls to feed the ducks out back. That was the highlight for the kids and it helped distract them from a "no dessert" meal since we had so much junk food days before. (We did not look at the desserts so we have no opinion on the desserts at Brady's) I wish I lived closer because I would take my family often as I believe it is a guaranteed hearty and good meal! read more

if i could give this place a big fat 0, i would. stopped in for a meal after visiting the area. not only was the food subpar, but we witnessed a blatantly racist display after a family of color left the restaurant (the only people of color in sight) and waitstaff proceeded to dramatically spray air freshener/sanitizer all over the place, scrubbing down the chairs...never in my LIFE have i seen this happen after customers leave their table and they certainly didn't do the same when white people left their tables after dining. then, noticing that one of the people in the party forgot an article of clothing, staff carried it holding it out in front of them pinched between their fingers like it was a dirty tissue and was obviously disgusted by it for lord only knows what reason. when management was told, you could tell he truly didn't care. absolutely horrific. read more

Good food at decent prices. If your some snooty tourist who is used to eating hormone injected slop that's full of who know's what, then don't come here. The meet is locally raised and some of the fish is from right up the road. The people who own this place are decent hardworking people who give allot to local charities. The original owner was a hard working business women who employed 100's of people in the area and never turned someone down in need. My family fell on hard times many years ago and Mrs. Brady was always willing to help us out and even brought us christmas gifts one winter when my wife passed away. The night she delivered the gifts, my children and I watched her through the candlighted window as she walked over 30 yards in her work dress through a snow drift to bring my kids a christmas ham and I'll be damned if I will stand for some jerk with a smartphone disparage her and the business she created. This place serves good food at decent prices. IF you want something fancy, then go up the highway . The Brady's don't need your cash. THIS IS THE BEST HOMESTYLE FOOD IN ALL OF THE EAST! No actually it was delicious. I had country fried steak and eggs covered in gravy. YUM!! I also tried two of the four soups at the salad bar!
