They advertise on the sign outside hibachi supreme, what they don't tell you, is they close that at 9 no, if you're open till 10, you should have it till 10. Don't even bother with this buffet, especially if you like an early lunch. Opening time is 11am, but absolutely nothing is available then--just empty trays, some with ice. By 11:20 maybe 20% of the trays had food, and no one was in a hurry to address the issue. Servers were more interested in their cellphones. Sushi, when it finally came out, was a joke: 90% julienned celery, no avocado, almost no fish; a few pieces had a little fake crab but no other seafood. The staff member preparing sushi knew I was waiting but took her time, with nothing out until 11:30. The roast pork did not come out of the kitchen until 11:55. No mustard or duck sauce for the eggrolls, no diet soda of any kind. Entrees were standard quality, just mostly unavailable half an hour after opening. The fried sweet plantains and steamed shrimp were the best things offered. Go to the other Chinese buffet in town. For a dinner buffet at 4:30 there was barely any fresh food. The food that was provided tasted like it was reheated in the microwave from the previous day. Absolutely horrible. There are so many different options close by within minutes that serves warm, fresh food. Go elsewhere! They have various health compliance procedures which continue to be broken as well from the taste of the leftover food. One for instance... FAILED "Reduced oxygen packaging (ROP) is a method where food is sealed in a package with reduced oxygen levels to extend shelf life. ROP requires specific temperature controls and HACCP plans to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria like Clostridium botulinum." Worst meal in my 63 years I have ever had. Service was good, but the food was just awful. Literally not one thing was good. Chicken with broccoli had a rancid fishy taste that I could not get out of my mouth. Chicken on a stick was dry and hard. There's a lot of good,cheap, Chinese buffets around Johnstown/Altoona. This isn't one of them. I should have gone by the overall Yelp rating. We arrived on a Sat.nite around 5:30. It's a big place, but was nearly empty. When we left it was about 6:60 and about 1/6 full. I had previously called about the crab legs on the weekend since this is a selling point on some of their internet listings and they said yes,they had them. When arriving, The sign on the crab legs said " 3 per person each trip". o.k., cool. there were 4l legs in the tray, I took three. They were small, I'd wait until the next batch. The help appeared very busy,but they would bring out a new, empty tray, and put the two spoons full off the old tray in the new, empty ones. This was all entrees. It appears every 25 min or so they refresh the crab leg's with new ones, and they put another 7 smaller ones in the hot tray. They were gone before I got to them. I'm not a glutton for crab legs, but 5 or six would hare been perfect. I usually go to a place at least twice before reviewing. This place, I will not be going back. It has been under new management for three years. Three years to get it right and they failed on all levels. It cost us $25 individually. read more

Extreme disappointment! We drove more than an hour to get here for the all you can eat crab legs. We had been here about three weeks ago and there was no sign up warning that they would be stopping the crab legs. With Great Expectations, we showed up today ready to dig in. No crab legs. One person told us that they don't have them today but maybe next time. We then talked to another person who said no crab legs anymore. What a shame! The restaurant is good and the food is delicious but we can find this kind of food just about anywhere without having to drive that far. They did not even lower the price when they removed the crab legs. I guess if you live near or in Johnstown the restaurant is a hit. For us anymore, it's a miss. read more

Food was ok. The best thing on the buffet was the mushrooms, because they were very hot and good taste. I've had better and I've had worse. The waitress was very nice and pleasant, and kept my drink filled 100% of the time. Even when I just took a couple sips, she still refilled it. Lol. (Water). I REALLY would like to give five stars because the food here is very good and they also have bubble tea which I have never seen before in any Chinese buffets around home (I am from the Pittsburgh area). The closest place for bubble tea is a good 45 minute drive from home, so stopping here and finding out they had it was a very pleasant surprise. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because their sushi selection is not that great. Even on the weekend, there are no "special" rolls, just extremely basic. Don't get me wrong, the sushi they had did taste good, I was just expecting a little more. Will def come back here if I'm in the Johnstown area again. read more

Took the family there because the wife wanted to try it for a long time. I am a person that loves frog legs and decided why not. I can honestly say that I love the place. I started off with the frog legs and moved on to everything else. I was not very excited about the hibachi steak but then I dont really think I would eat it anywhere else. The service was great and the place was very clean. We have our sons try something different every place we go and my 10 year old found out he loves sushi. I on the other hand will not try it. We can really look past a lot, but yesterday we took our daughter to eat here for her birthday dinner after the kids soccer game. We arrived with over an hour before they closed, but when we were seated they were putting away food and the staff spent the entire time we were eating the stale food up at the front staring at us talking crap in Cantonese to each other. We weren't asking for any birthday celebration, we just wanted to get what we paid for (which is extremely expensive now) and leave. If your hours are until 9PM and you want to leave at 8PM, close at 8PM. Worst experience I've had in a long time, but the worst part is them making my daughter cry because of the way they were acting towards us. Won't be back at any point in the future. Sushi was non existent at lunchtime and the chef has a real attitude, very unprofessional. I patiently waited for 30 min and another guy came out to ask me if I was ok. I like this place. Good selections. Sometimes the food could be hotter. The weekends have steak sometimes, and it's good. The staff is bad. There is an older lady that can't be bothered to even set the phone down when you pay your bill. She speaks great English if you ask about leaving a tip or something positive, but if you have a concern, she suddenly can't understand a word you say. If you have a complaint, they ignore it. Great food, great service & I even left my takeout on the counter by mistake & when I came back they had it waiting for me.

Quite simply, the best Chinese buffet I have been to. The place was clean, the staff were constantly filling the food pans, the hibachi grill was spot on. The cuts of meat included steak, shrimp, and chicken with all of the veggies. For $12.99 it was great. The owner and our server were very friendly and made you feel right at home. We arrived after lunch at 1:40pm and expected 'older' buffet food. Boy was I wrong. The food fresh and hot. We sampled many items. This is an enormous, comfortable, clean, attractive restaurant offering a good option in an area which is largely a restaurant desert. The buffet is reasonably priced and extensive, and there is something for every taste, including many American foods. The service is attentive, but not overly friendly. I regret that there is no mixed vegetable dish and no tofu dish at the buffet, something which is in scarce supply in this area.
