Walk up order with tables inside!
    Lorri D.

Rustic spot with a truly BBQ feel, where you order at the counter, take a number and your food is delivered to your table. This spot came highly recommended, but I was unimpressed with my lunch. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with fries. I was expecting sliced turkey from a turkey...instead I got what felt and looked and tasted like packaged cold cuts. The fries were crinkle cut like you get in the freezer section and several were still cold in the middle. 3 stars for the service and because the rest of my group, who ordered pulled pork and onion rings were happy with their meals.

    Fries and stew good too

Great did. Got a good parking spot too. Potato salad and beans my fav. Sandwich big. All good

There is nothing more authentic than a chop bbq plate with 2 sides and a sweet tea. This place does it right with a slice of Texas toast that I actually took a bite of before snapping the photo. The baked beans and Brunswick stew was 2 awesome sides.

6 bbq ribs, coleslaw, French fries, Texas toast

The restaurant is one block south of the square. Order a half rack of ribs (6), coleslaw, fries, and drink. Price is reasonable. Once ordered at the counter my food arrived in about 5 minutes. The restaurant has a rustic atmosphere. The young ladies that took my order and brought the food were pleasant. The ribs were very tender and meat was falling off the bone. Would have liked a little more coleslaw (mustard, vinegar dressing) even though it's not my favorite style. Fries were hot. The sauces didn't have much flavor.

First time I've been to this restaurant located a few steps from Covington Square and I'm satisfied. I heard the name of this restaurant from a friend, and I will come back without hesitation. First of all, you can park quite easily in the street or in the square. The restaurant is quite big so you can go there easily without a reservation during the week, but I don't know about the weekend. The restaurant is quite friendly and family oriented, I found the staff very nice. You order at the cash register, and you are served at the table. It seems to me that you can also order to go. I found the decoration quite cool and in the theme of the restaurant. The prices were very low for a restaurant of this type. I only paid $8.99 for the BBQ plate, which was pork, with a choice of two sides. I chose French fries and a Brunswick stew which I was eating for the first time. I also took a drink for $1.49 (soda). I thought the food was good and served quickly. I think it's a good place to go for a quick bite to eat and something cheap but of good quality. I recommend it!

First time coming in. The man that was fixing the sides in the back had no gloves on and was using a small portion bowl to put the sides in another small bowl. The ribs we ordered were burnt and should not have been served to anyone but the trash. The Brunswick stew was mushy. The pulled pork sandwich was old and should have been thrown away. It had hard pieces all in it. The potato salad taste like just cold mashed potatoes and not potato salad. The baked beans were extremely nasty. Taste like the barbecue sauce they tried to make on their own with big chunks of mustard. First and last time visiting here

I'm stop coming here. But that's what I get. I should have checked my food. I didn't expect to get a half of a rib bone . That's a tip not a rib bone. They know better

BBQ Sandwich and good baked beans. Vamped.

I'd have given 5 stars but the chicken wasn't ready by 2pm as it was supposed to have been. It's not a fancy place but they make up for it with food and service. The portions were enough for 3 days depending on your appetite. The taste of the food was awesome and I love their sauces. I look forward to going back again and trying some other items. P. S. I knew I had to stop at Cowboy's BBQ after I passed it a few times while looking at houses in Covington. Some of the best food that you'll find anywhere is often attached to a gas station. The good reviews and smells made me certain this was going to be great. At first glance, prices are amazing [more on this later...]. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken. I chose fries and mac n cheese for my sides. The mac n cheese carried an upcharge, but this is reasonably common for places to do. I agree with the one diner who said the brisket was amazing. I really enjoyed the brisket. The fries were also fine thanks how are you? Wish I had more good to say about this place. The ribs were very old and mediocre at best. I understand that food can't be cooked to order at a barbecue place, but even barbecue has a shelf life. The ribs that I was served should've long been chopped into a stew special or something along those lines. The smoked chicken was a disgusting insult. At first, I thought I was mistakenly served an additional side instead of smoked chicken. Unfortunately, their service style is off the bone and finely diced. Storing barbecue meats off the bone is a delicate process. You have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't dry up in the hot box. Unfortunately, no care was taken, so the chicken was dry and tasteless. The mac n cheese was very low quality. I'll happily pay an upcharge for the good stuff that's baked. I'll grudgingly eat Kraft mac n cheese. I will not pay an upcharge for Kraft mac n cheese. Honestly, all of this would've made the experience probably worth 2 or even 3 stars, but they have an incredibly dishonest, unadvertised upcharge for credit cards. The surcharge is definitely higher than their cost to accept credit cards. Some businesses eat the cost of accepting credit cards. Other businesses pass this cost to the customer. Cowboy BBQ uses this as an opportunity to improve their margins by cheating their customers.

I started with the goat cheese pesto bruschetta for appetizers. The flavors paired well together and it was a decent size. For lunch, my friend and I shared the taco platter, which comes with 9 tacos, chips, salsa, and queso for $35. It's a great price and it was more food than we could finish. The fried shrimp tacos were the best. Shoutout to our waitress for that suggestion! They were crispy, large shrimp pieces, and flavored nicely. We also got the fried fish tacos and the ribeye tacos which were very underwhelming. Unfortunately, the entire taco platter was extremely salty. Even though we drank water throughout, we both left feeling super parched due to how salty it was. This place has potential but I'm not sure I would come back. It might be a good spot to grab a drink and hang out, but I wouldn't come here to eat. Honestly the amazing service is really what stood out and was the saving grace!
