I have never had to write a more conflicting review. My husband raved about their smoked/grilled meats and we decided to stop by one Saturday so I could try. The place is surprisingly clean, as it looks as if most of the grilling is done outdoors, and plated inside. We ordered the chicken wings, rib tips and several sides. Service was swift and we were out the door in 10 minutes. We arrive home and the sides are barely filled! For almost $20 of sides, this was laughable. The meal.... the wings were good and the rib tips were a tad salty but still good. Now, we take a turn for the worst.... the sides. The COLLARDS WERE HORRIBLE. They were tough and tasted like nothing but sugar and water! I had to toss away. Beans were almost equally as bad because there were bits of char all throughout. Again... tossed! The macaroni left nothing to be desired so needless to say, almost $60 of food, with all of it belonging in the rubbish bin. We called in our order, we were told 45 minutes. We showed up 55 minutes later and STILL had to wait. We paid $4.99 for the sides, which came in two separate 5.5 containers- my one container was gone in three bites, it was Mac and cheese made with Velveeta , not worth $4.99 . These baked beans are TOO sweet with cinnamon and nutmeg. Ribtips were tough and the bbq sauce was nasty. We gave it a try, but will not return. And I'm still hungry. read more

This included a pulled pork sandwich, an order of fries ($1 upcharge), a small container of slaw to top your sandwich if you choose to and a small container of sauce. Service - Service was great! They're taking precautions because of COVID. The lady that took my order was friendly. Service time was fast. It was about 10 minutes from the time my receipt was printed until I got my food. Very reasonable since they had to cook the fries. Food - Food was great! Large portions! The sandwich was a good portion of meat...enough to where some fell off the bun while eating the sandwich. The pork itself was seasoned good, tender and juicy! There was just slight bit of fat in it...which is expected and how it should be...and had a bit of good bark in it as well. Which is something you don't get at a lot of these other BBQ joints! The sauce was a little sweet, but not too sweet. It was a little thinker than a vinegar base, but didn't have that think molasses base either. Which worked well for me since I'm more of a fan of a vinegar based Carolina or Georgia style of BBQ sauce. I'm not a fan of super thick overly sweet sauces. Fries were crinkle cut fries. Had some good seasoning on them. Huge portion. The coleslaw was good. A little sweet. Small little portion...just enough to top the sandwich if you chose to. I tried everything separately...which I believe that you should do with BBQ! Try the meat unsauced! That will let you know how good the BBQ actually is! Then try it with the sauce! The BBQ by itself was great. The sauce complimented the meat good. And then the last little bit a had I topped with the slaw, which paired well with the meat and sauce. For me, I'd say this is real good backyard BBQ! And that isn't a shot at the food or the pitmaster! That's a compliment! Apparently this business is satisfied with their customer traffic. The sign advertises their closing time to be 8:00 PM. I arrived at 7:50 PM. The person, I believe to be owners, was very sharp in speech announcing that they were closed. I mentioned that the sign states 8:00 PM. He said that they shut down 1/2 hour early, I suppose, to run out at 8:00 PM. Let him know that all I was trying to do was patronize his business. Will not be back! read more

Apparently, it's a already sauced sandwich topped with Cole Slaw minus the availability of Fries, Onion Rings, or Brunswick Stew. Yes, there's something to be said about "low and slow", but I think in this case it refers to the long lines at D Q or Chick-fil-A. Authentic Memphis BBQ uses paparika based dry rub, this place smoked the meat then dumped some sugar and seasoning on top of the meat after it was cooked. New Bbq joint in town..... Location is kind of off the beaten path... Did not even know it was there until driving by and the smoker smell hit my windows.... And boy Im glad it did! Very nice owner/chef, and friendly staff. Portions are great and price is reasonable for amount of food.... But ohhh my the taste is superb! Barbque is always a matter of individual tastes but these folks have nailed it in my opinion for the real bbq flavor. Sauces are sweet and spicy enough, and the rib rub is amazing.... The Pig Out is a small local business I felt like it was in an odd location because its really hard to see and I never thought to stop until seeing the smoke from the street! I've been here 4 times now the first time i didn't eat my mom ordered ribs and she absolutely loved them [like running off the road trying to eat them] I came the second time and ordered a pound of pulled chicken and it was literally the best thing i just wish i wouldve had more bbq sauce! Of course i wanted more so when i returned a week or so later i ordered the same thing i found the chicken to be shredded a little more than i could handle the texture was off A LOT. I always give a place three tries especially if the customer service is good. All days aren't good days right? Today i went in and asked for the pulled chicken not shredded so much and instead of just making quick money i was informed that it may still be the same so i decided against it and went with 10 smoked wings [warning: they are the whole wings , i didn't ask before hand] half way through i was full they were actually really good. I don't like when i can really taste the smoke like it's overpowering (idk weird, i guess) but i couldn't and i was happy about it! So i will be returning and trying something different i'm glad i gave this place another try! I saw this place after playing a round of golf at the course that's across the street. I saw smoke coming from a really nice smoker and suddenly got a taste for pulled pork. This place is new, but it just seems like it open way before it was ready, like the owner just and decided one day that he wanted to open a restaurant. I love bbq, even enjoy doing it myself at home, but this place just missed the mark by A LOT!!! I wanted a pulled pork plate, but they told me they don't do plates. What!!?? What real deal bbq place does not have plates to sell? Turns out, they don't have any homemade side dishes to choose from. All they had was fries, baked beans, and chips I think. Also, the only meats the had were pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. Now for the taste. This is where the 1 star came from. The pulled pork I ordered was just bland. Not even a hint of some special rub or injection at all. Not even the taste of a marinade. It was like the cook just put the meat straight on the smoker and thought the only flavor he needed was the wood smoke from the fire. It was tender, just no flavor. I could tell that the baked beans were dumped straight from a can and just warmed through. No taste of any seasoning or brown sugar. Could have at least bought Bush's baked beans or even just add some spices. And the sauce, I could tell it was store bought and not even a good one at that. This place claims to have real deal "Memphis BBQ". Well, i've had bbq in Memphis and this was nothing like it. I was completely disappointed. Maybe, if the owner would sit down and do just a little more planning or get some advice from someone on how to season food, this place could be one of those great places off the beaten track. I have had small plates from here and it tasted good but today the food was horrible!!! Slab of ribs were dry and falling off the bone, not sure how this happens if they are cooked on a grill. The rib bones were Disintegrating as soon as they touched my mouth. I think they boiled these ribs and added liquid smoke as they were not very seasoned but they left a heavy smoked flavor in my mouth. Also bought a pound of pulled pork it tasted watery and some of it was burnt.
