I have been a patient of Dr. Bradley, Thomas and David Tu for several years and have always had excellent care from both of them. I recently went to a UCLA orthopedic clinic for pain in my right hip. The UCLA doctor proceeded to treat me with Physical Therapy a PRP injection and I have had no pain on the right side of my hip. I decided to go for a second opinion to Dr. Bradley Thomas and he informed me that I do have a gluteus medius tear however, that's not what was giving me the pain instead it was trochanteric bursitis and he treated me with a steroid injection. I am already feeling relief from Dr. Bradley's treatment. I can't express how grateful I am for both Dr. Bradley, Thomas and David Tu for their expertise. they are a great team. read more

This is for the front desk. We have seen multiple drs at both Torrance and MB locations with no issues. However, today we are seeing Dr. Thomas for my 15-year old son who was pulled out of school for this appointment. When arriving, we were told Dr. Thomas was over 1.5 hours late. I said it would have been nice to receive a text or courtesy call knowing how long the wait would be. The response...he's always this late and people here have been waiting longer. Unfortunate to be getting a poor review because of how poorly your front desk treats their patients. Understand that everyone runs late, especially in healthcare, but just keep your patients abreast on long wait times. read more

The feeling I had about this place initially was very good and I thought they were quite professional HOWEVER I now see it as a FACTORY. Dr. Bradley Thomas is fantastic, doesn't try to upsell you on different procedures available...in fact, the opposite. My friends in Sherman Oaks recommended him and at first I was like..."WHAT?? Manhattan Beach?? Seriously?" But after going there and hearing about the unpleasant experiences others have had at Cedars, SM Hospital, etc...I decided to give it a try. Just had a surgery with Dr. Thomas last week and the procedure went well and the staff that he works with is awesome. I came to him for a second opinion and thank goodness I did because he prevented me from having a surgery that seems to not work out so well in the end. I have been battling a left knee problem since 1996 and recently this last dislocation blowout was the last straw for my leg. The regular MlD that I visit was talking about a heavy duty procedure and it was pretty scary, so I went to Dr. Thomas and he agreed about certain areas that need to be corrected but he explained that he could do it in a way that was not so invasive. To make a long story short; the other Dr. recommend a prodecure that opened up my leg from mid thigh to mid shin; and Dr. Thomas explained how that wouldn't work in the end and recommend a procedure that just opened up 4 inches from my knee cap to mid shin. It was an outpatient procedure which was great! Whew, I'm only 24 and I'm falling a part! He also has in house physical therapy and I am currently working with Arlene! I just really appreciate the time he took to explain things out and the wait to see him was not bad at all. Give Dr. Thomas a try! I went to see Dr Thomas for a torn rotator cuff. During my first visit I was seen by his PA (Steve, I believe) who was efficient and friendly. He took my history, and said that Dr Thomas "is very busy to today, and running very late" so I was offered to have x rays, and was scheduled for an MRI. The second visit was for the MRI, and I was given a third appointment, w Dr Thomas, to review the tests. When I showed up today I waited 40 minutes, and when I asked when I'll be seen I was told that Dr Thomas "is very busy to today, and running very late". I left without seeing Dr Thomas. I drove 1:15 hours RT for each of the 3 visits, w no resolution. If the office were run efficiently they would have told me, when I called for an appointment, to come in for x rays and an MRI (both on the same day) followed by an appointment w Dr. Thomas. read more

Dr. BT is the man. Both shoulders were damaged, requiring AC Joint surgery to remove bone spurs & repair tears. Definitely a life changing operation, at the hands of Dr. Thomas and his staff. I'm back in the gym with ZERO pain Recommendation: Listen to what Dr Thomas says, and follow-up with action... you wont be disappointed. I'd highly recommend his skills to anyone on the fence considering alternative solutions. Dr. Thomas performed surgery on my right shoulder (bicep tendinitis) last week and I couldn't be happier with the process and the results. From the moment I first walked in his office I could tell his staff was competent, friendly, organized and had a sense of purpose. Dr. Thomas was easy to talk to, confident, honest and down to earth. His new state of the art surgical center is first rate. The ambiance is not your typical sterile parochial medical office. It's lively, modern and fresh with the pleasant colors. I wrote this review in March/April 2012, but didn't post it yet. I thought I might have to go back here and didn't want to be discriminated against. I also know some people have had good experiences here, and thought maybe mine was a fluke. I also also thought that maybe I should wait more than 3-4 months to see what happened. My knee doesn't really feel any better than it did 2 years ago before surgery. I still have the patellar tendinitis. Review: I went to Dr. Thomas for what I already knew was a torn meniscus. I looked at the MRI with him in person, and we both could see a large meniscus tear, and a lasrge perimeniscal cyst probably from irritation. As a matter of fact, he referred to it as a "no-joke tear" and said "you're definitely one of the tougher ones in your generation being able to deal with it until now". I had surgery at the center that I believe he has part ownership in, Coast Surgical Center in Torrance. I have a few reasons for the 1-star review: 1- He and the office told me everything was in-network so I didn't call my insurance company to verify again. Turns out the surgical center is out of network, and so it ended up costing me close to a thousand dollars I wouldn't have had to pay if it was in network like they said. I'm also SOL about it, because it's not Dr. Thomas office's problem. 2- My knee feels no better than it did before paying thousands and thousands of dollars to "fix" it. In fact it feels worse. I have patellar tendonitis in the path of both incisions in addition to the usual knee pain from the meniscal problems. 3- I don't think he even removed the cyst. Although he pointed it out in the MRI, the post-surgical report (which was not even provided until my physical therapist had to go through multiple channels of request) did not mention it at all. When they called him to ask if the cyst was removed, he answered with something "oh... umm, yes of course". Additionally immediately after the surgery, I wasn't even given crutches to walk out on. That was kind of ridiculous. I've had shoulder surgery as well, so I have something to compare the experience to. My shoulder surgery was much much more complicated, multiple parts had to be repaired, in a more intricate anatomy. Apparently all that had to be done to my knee was to cut out the torn off meniscus flap, and remove a cyst (which probably wasn't done). I think it's obvious why I'm not so happy with how this whole experience turned out. read more

When I finally understood I needed an orthopedic consultation, I saw Dr. Thomas and it was clear that I could live with the pain or have surgery. Dr Thomas allegedly repaired my ruptured patella tendon in Sept 2015. After months of PT my knee remained swollen. Every month i told him this and he prescribed draining my knee, a prp injection, arp therapy, acupuncture etc. A true cash cow business. At 7 months he did an MRI revealing a detached tendon. 7 months later for an MRI? Thomas said he never had a failed surgery and the problem was my " protoplasm". Protoplasm? Seriously? I told him i wanted all my records and would seek a second opinion. He agreed and walked out. Never heard from him again other then his billing department who also screwed up. The records received were incomplete. No PT notes and no operative report. I selected Dr Peter Borden to repair my knee. After 7 weeks i am so far ahead and improving, hardly any swelling and excellent care. I recommend Dr Borden highly. Stay clear of Dr Thomas who i would never trust surgically. read more

Boy, was my shoulder torn up by the time I finally did something about it. My primary doc recommended Dr. Brad Thomas, as she also had her shoulder repaired by him. That was good enough for me, and am I grateful to her (and him!) for the excellent results. It was a complicated surgery, and Dr. Thomas is a brilliant surgeon with a very charming bedside manner. He's positive and very supportive, and best of all, very sympathetic and patient. I am very impatient (ok...maybe a tad stubborn, too), so between him, his top-notch staff, and the amazing OT staff, I am kept motivated and on the road to recovery. In many ways, I am even stronger now than before the injury, which is pretty remarkable. Healing is no easy job, but I'm very blessed to be in great hands. read more

I don't even want to give him any star. I had a partial knee replacement with this fool. He put a replacement piece on my knee that was 3x s too big. I couldn't bend my knee. PT was so painful. On several follow up appointments, Dr. Thomas blamed me, my physical therapist ...anyone but himself. I know docs make mistakes, but have the decency to try to fix the problem. I went to Cedars for 2nd opinion and learn just how badly he botched this surgery. Cedars held an investigation and spoke to several intern/residents that worked under him at Harbor. The results were frightening. Cedars has barred him from ever having privileges there and head of Admissions came to my room after the corrective surgery, and apologized to me on behalf of medical community. I was only looking for this doctor to have some integrity, and help fix the problem, but he is without honor of any kind...sad to think how he is raising his kids...money above all else Stay away from him read more

I had pain in my right arm. it ached, Also my neck ached. When I was lifting a very light object, by extending my arm sideways and it ached so much, that I had blackout for a moment due to excruciating pain. Dr. Thomas checked my right arm and neck, and advised to get x-ray,of the arm and neck. He examined the x-ray and then advised to have MRI, After examining the MRI, he mentioned I need surgery, since there is a tear in rotator cuff. He said there is no emergency. But I wanted it as soon as possible. He asked me to pick one of the available dates.I picked one and his office scheduled pre-op, surgery date and post-op appointments, gave me clear instructions necessary. Surgery was done without any problems, the physical therapist also was very good. I had checkups and Dr,Thomas would evaluate my progress, After 5 months I am completely recovered. First 3 months good progress. fourth month started driving. All because of Dr. Thomas's surgical skill and caring as well as his staff's. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas. read more

My review is more so about Dr. Thomas' WC coordinator Jina. And if dealing with her, JINA, is any indication of the level of service that I will receive I will take my medical needs elsewhere. I just met Dr Thomas one year ago so we don't have enough of a relationship for me to deal with the total lack of professionalism or consideration that is 'delivered' by Jina. When I email to speak to her about the status of my claim she gets back to me maybe one week later. When I call her to have a discussion I DO NOT receive a call back. Yet she has no problem calling my attorney, who works for me and NOT her. And since she, Jina is not a litigant in my claim against my employer, she has no legal necessity to speak to me through my attorney, yet she clearly places a level of importance upon herself that is over exaggerated. This is evidenced by the fact that when I was dealing with another scheduler in Dr. Thomas' office to have a procedure covered thru my private carrier, she, Jina, decides to insinuate herself into that interaction and tell the scheduler not to schedule me and then calls my attorney and NOT me. And for the record my attorney already knew my plans. So I of course call Jina. I'll let you guess whether I have received a call back. And just as a side not, i had to wain 1 hour and 20 minutes to see Dr. Thomas for my last appt. Perhaps more of a reflection of his staff over-booking than the Doc himself. But it is not a good look nonetheless. And once again, if dealing with Dr. Thomas means dealing with Jina and her lack of professionalism, consideration and other marketable skills..... there are plenty of other Ortho surgeons in the Greater Los Angeles area read more

Was not going to write anything, but since I have to see an ortho person and came across Brad Thomas, I felt the need to write about my husband's experience 3 years ago. He had a torn meniscus which Dr. Thomas supposedly repaired. He did not. My husband went to him repeatedly and told him that things were no better. He even wanted to sell him some vitamins which he carries in his office. After about the 4th visit, Dr. Thomas suggested that he could have a problem where, after surgery, blood does not reach the area. He finally figured this out and said, " Well, we could do an MRI." By this time, my husband had finally had it and went to another ortho doc who specializes in knees and hips. Dr. Andrew Yun, who is fabulous! He took an X-ray-- not even an MRI-- and could tell immediately that the so-called repaired meniscus was not receiving a good blood supply and my husband needed a partial knee replacement. Dr. Yun performed the surgery and my husband's knee is as good as new. Would definitely NOT recommend Dr. Thomas. read more
