Ace discovered that the prior roofer(2017) had failed to seal a gap between the shingles and the edge of the chimney. The roof that was replaced was two layers, and when it was replaced with one layer, that left an inch or so gap between the shingles and and chimney, which they failed to seal and also failed to install proper flashing so that water would drain away from the chimney. Ace repaired the issue and their price was very reasonable. Recently, I noticed paint cracking and dampness in a ceiling. I called the company that installed the roof-as it is nearing the end of the warranty. They sent someone who said he saw nothing wrong, and claimed they might need better ventilation. He said someone would call. No one did. I called Ace, he went up and saw the source of the problem, a bullet hole-likely there from someone's errant New Year's celebration. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. Ace is responsive, and most important, he acts with integrity and his assessments are credible. Irrespective of 'warranties,' I trust him and will always call him first.

He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. We have a 91 year old home with the original cedar shake siding that was in need of replacement. We…read morehad been putting this project off for several years because we hadn't been able to find a company that provided the product and/or the color we wanted, but Home Genius Exteriors was able to provide an American made product that resembled the original siding color and style. The coordination of the process went smoothly, even when minor issues arose, of which there were few. They even had to replace some rotting window frames and sills and were able to do so in the same style as the original. There's only one other issue that needs attention, but based on our experience with how other issues have been resolved, we are confident in a positive resolution. We want the professional installation and finished product for which we contracted and paid. Two additional windows are under contract and a deposit was paid, but because we made a warranty claim, Home Genius is now seeking to not measure, order or install those two contracted windows. The original installation was performed by a two-person crew. One installer brought a newborn infant and was simultaneously caring for the baby while working, including feeding and changing the baby in our home and keeping the baby in a carriage near the work area and ladder. The workmanship was extremely poor. Windows were not properly centered, caulking was started and abruptly stopped, windows would not properly open or close, and a screen was damaged. The problems were significant enough that Home Genius sent an entirely different crew per our demand several days later - they initially intended to send the same two. The second crew spent approximately twice as long correcting the first crew's work as the original crew spent installing the windows. Although some problems were corrected, we discovered that visibly scratched and painted old vinyl frame material remains incorporated into the finished appearance of our new ProVia windows. HGE's own contract promises professional workmanship and makes HGE responsible for proper completion even when subcontractors are used. Two additional contracted windows have not been measured, ordered or installed, although our deposit was paid. We do not believe making a legitimate warranty claim concerning defective workmanship permits Home Genius to abandon or cancel its obligations for the remaining windows. We have only asked that Home Genius to honor it, properly address the defective workmanship, and complete the two remaining windows as agreed - but this is a company that does not care and retaliates.

After 4 weeks nobody had show up yet, so I called again and the receptionist said again some one will show up with in a week. Another month passed by and no one had still showed up. I called back and the same lady answered and denied telling me they would show up with in a week, saying no she tells everybody 6 weeks before they show up for an estimate and didn't even have my information when I called each time. No apology and extremely unprofessional response. It's sad that discrimination of such proportion exits in even businesses in today's USA.

I was impressed with how Bone Dry presented themselves and just had a good feeling about calling them. They setup an appointment with a salesman Gordon Rodgers and he was very nice and helpful with determining what the house needed and what we wanted to be done. Price was reasonable and we received discounts depending on certain things which helped. Scheduling was easy. The day before the roofing crew came out I was given a courtesy call who to expect and supervisors name . The next day the crew came out and began working at once to make sure things would be covered for safety to the landscape and windows. Program director appeared to make sure the crew was on schedule and helped out with getting things hauled away from clearing the roof. Supervisor came to help with directing the actual install of the roof and later the chimney flashing. When all was finished , the crew did an exceptional cleanup up of the surroundings . Appreciated their bosses came out to check on how things were coming along and if I had any questions. Liked the fact that pictures of each step of the process were forwarded to me until they were done. Work was done nicely and very satisfied. . My husband flew his drone upnand we could see it wasn't sealed. Plus we had rain that night and yes it was wet. 2. Husband called and they said they had to order supplies to fix it. They would call us because it could take 3 WEEKS to get the supplies. 3. Husband called back and they were shocked it wasnt fixed yet. 4. Scheduled to come out. Didnt show. 5. Sxheduled to come out. Didn't show. At this point do we trust the work they do if they come out? What is going on?
