Worked with Steve Reel, start to finish, along with other members of the team. Steve came out and figured out our problem, explained it well, and gave us an estimate (which they ended up beating when the work was finished.) The crew came out less than a week after I gave the go-ahead, and finished up in an afternoon. He came back a few days later and inspected it, and left the bill. Reasonable price for the amount of work they did. Easy to contact, easy to deal with, and no leaks.

But is the company reputable? And do you really want to go with a relatively new company even if is owned by your buddy. He decided, no. Newman is competitive with hundreds of 5 star reviews. He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. Yay! We have heat!…read more Our furnace started having issues about a week ago. It was making strange noises to where I felt that it was unsafe to keep it running. We called Midwest and someone came out to "temporarily" resolve the issue since it was close to end of business day. Pat came out and temporarily fixed what was causing the strange noises so that we could have heat again. The next day, Tyler came out and did a thorough inspection of the furnace and recommended that it be replaced as it was 20+ years old. The inspection cost $89. A few days later, Bill and another person came out and installed the new furnace. They were here from 9 AM - 3:30 PM. They were always proper and polite when communicating with us and when going in and out the front door. The entire crew (with every visit) wore booties when coming in and out of the house to avoid tracking in dirt from outside. The new furnace has been running great since the install! It is a little louder than our previous furnace, but seems to heat up the house pretty quick. The cost for the new furnace and install was roughly around $1300 which I hear is a pretty good deal. The new furnace also comes with a 10 year warranty! Thank you Midwest for your great services!

In the winter of 2013 I had called Midwest Heating and Cooling to look at my furnace. My tenants…read moreadvised me that the heat was running fine however there was a slight whistling noise occurring when it was running. When the technician got there he attempted to have the heat kick on by turning the temperature up so he could hear the noise. Once he noticed the heat would not kick on he immediately told my tenant he was going to have to take the furnace apart. My tenant then advised the technician that the hold button was on and asked if that was maybe preventing the heat from kicking on at the moment. He said no then went on dismantling my furnace. After a few hours of dismantling my furnace he had left and apparently went home for the day because it was nearing 6p. My tenants called and told me that the furnace had been dismantled and they had no heat! I was devastated and angry as hell. I couldn't believe.... 1) a company would break a furnace that was working fine and just had a whistling noise that needed attention and did not hold themselves accountable immediately. 2) they did not call me (the owner) and advise me the issue has not or could not be rectified. 3) they would leave a family of 4 with 2 young kids with NO heat!! Or NO solution of having heat until this situation could be rectified. After multiple phone calls and messages they agreed to bring my tenants a heater so they could put on the floor and plug it in until we were able to get a quote on a new furnace. Which their quote was outrageous considering they were the cause of my furnace not working. I had 2 other companies come the next day to give us a quote and we went with Airfast!! (See my review on Airfast). The only reason I'm giving this company 2 stars and not 1 is because they didn't send me some ridiculous bill for using their floor heater and I don't think they charged me for a service charge. Which if they did they would've been adding salt to the wound and I would have gone great lengths to bring them to court and for them to pay for my new furnace.

George showed up for the estimate about five minutes early. Communication was very prompt. He got up and crawled all over the roof, inspected everything thoroughly. Gave me a competitive quote in line with my insurance company's settlement, and with top-quality materials to boot. I had scheduled a total of five companies to do my roof, and I kept saying to myself with each one "these guys aren't George." Some competitors didn't even get up on the roof to inspect it! And one guy, when I was complaining about a heat problem and how best to solve it, scratched his head and said, "I really don't know what to do about that." George had an answer. His crew was run by his cousin. They were polite and professional. Finished product is beautiful and top-notch. Great cleanup job too. The only reason I'm giving GKG 5 stars is because I can't give them 6.

George was still a great guy to talk to and there's no doubt he's got knowledge in his field, but we have taken our business to another company that believes they can solve the leak without doing the whole roof over. END UPDATE George showed up right on time and it was very apparent from the get go that he was incredibly knowledgeable in his field. He was friendly and courteous and quickly located the problem with our roof.
