    Ube Coconut Mochi Brownie
    Miranda M.

I'm constantly amazed at the variety and quality of fusion/ethnic cuisine available in the area. I believe this was from the BK location (ordered delivery). Our food came fast and was incredibly fresh and neatly prepared. We ordered the BBQ Pulled Chicken Bowl with white rice, Hawaiian macaroni salad and crab salad, along with 2 Ube Coconut Mochi Brownies. The Hawaiian style macaroni salad came with onions grated carrots and was soooo creamy. This was hands down with us macaroni salad I've ever had in my entire life. The crab was a little spicy in a great way - seasoned with masago, spicy aioli and cucumbers. If you know me, you know, I'm not a huge fan of chicken, but there's seasoned and cooked to perfection, with Rice that was perfectly sticky yet not mushy. The real highlight of this mea were the brownies. I really expected them to taste prepackaged as they came in labeled plastic wrappers, and had no idea what to expect but all I can say is wow. The mild yet so sweet flavor of Ube blended perfectly with the chewies of the mochi and the delicious coconut flavors. I could eat 40 of these. Not too sweet but packed full of flavor. This will become a staple for our delivery rotation.

I was pleasantly surprised by this spot! I ordered for delivery and I believe it was my first time ever having Hawaiian BBQ. Very solid flavors and lots of food for a very good price. I know some of the reviews say otherwise but I was very happy with the quality of food and amount. My order came quickly and was packed very proficiently. I'm most certainly be ordering again.

    Overcooked soggy rice inedible

Their menu items are always different portions of sauce and preparation techniques ... but the last straw was receiving spam rice snacks and they are half the size as I'm used to and have been used to for weeks / the same price as when a few days before as well as weeks of purchasing them. I should also mention the rice of the sea seaweed spam snacks was inedible absolutely disgusting , so they came half the size and inedible ....... The texture of soggy rice was something I had to spit back out I'm offended. I feel scammed and I won't be coming back. The food portions keep getting smaller and smaller. Making an item half the size with no price change is so ridiculously disrespectful to the customer/business relationship in my opinion,....... The quality of the food isn't good enough for how much they're charging... I didn't mind though because they're open so late. Now they're just trying to vacuum all the money out of your pockets while leaving you hungry !!! Im good yall got it. Take your W on that one my friends... Itis upsetting as somebody who was eating here weekly. The food is not consistent with ratios of sauce and salad or preparation of crab salad or the size of the ham rice rolls. Actively looking for a new late night spot That appreciates their customers ... and shows that through respect...... goodbye

Ordered for delivery. It came so quickly!! The bowls were packed. I got the beef bulgogi and bbq chicken. On the website the bbq chicken looks like sliced chicken pieces but I got shredded so that was kind of weird. The macaroni salad and kani salad are delicious!

    Two Protein BBQ Bowl

One of my favorite takeout Poke places, love their build your own bowls where you can pick two proteins (salmon, tuna, or more), 6 toppings, or additional toppings, and then sauce. Economical that it costs only about $17. Also tried their two protein bowl where you can pick beef or chicken as well. They are always super quick in delivery, and they offer you $5 off once you order certain numbers (I think it is 5 times but please verify) Love and recommend!

Three Protein BBQ Bowl: Chicken Katsu, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, Bulgogi Beef
    Angela Z.

Honestly the worst Hawaiian food I've ever had, not even comparable to chains like L&L. I ordered on DoorDash without checking Yelp (big mistake), and immediately thought it was a small box for $20 worth of food when I received it. It seems like ordering the 3 protein bowl doesn't give you much more meat than the single protein options, just more variety. The portion sizes for the sides and salad base were also tiny, maybe 2 tablespoons each, while the rice filled the bottom of the container. Taste wise, everything was lackluster. Chicken katsu was soggy, BBQ chicken had a weird sour marinade, and bulgogi beef was dry and bland. The BBQ sauce on the side was also extremely sour, almost had a ketchup-y flavor to it? Mac salad was decent but not super flavorful, and seaweed salad was good but probably came pre-made anyways. Overall would definitely go with many other late night options on delivery apps over this.

The food was good and very tasty. However, they forgot the sauce that came with the item I ordered as well as the additional sauce I paid for. Also, there could have been more kale salad within the meal.

But, I like that they added furikake seasoning throughout it to add flavor. I didn't care much for their sides - the egg was too sweet for my liking and the pickled carrots were too soft. I ordered an addtl Kinko (mushroom) onigiri bc I was quite hungry and it was alright. Def a lighter taste. Overall, a decent spot for a solid, reliable, good bite! It is a small Hawaiian place that serves fresh food. The owner is friendly. The portion size of the food is a lot, so you will definitely not get hungry. Below are a few items that I had tried: Sushi Taco - I typically get ahi tuna or salmon (both are always fresh) mixed with spicy mayo. Hawaiian BBQ Plate - you have the option to do 1 to 3 proteins with 2 sides. The proteins that I typically pick are chicken katsu, bulgogi beef, or grilled shrimp. The sides that I typically pick are seaweed salad, charred broccoli, and crabmeat salad. Poke Bowl - you can't go wrong with picking ahi tuna or salmon (assuming you have no issues eating raw food) as your protein. Gyoza - it is fried and crispy, and I would recommend this over the pork dumplings. Pork Dumplings - it is so-so. The skin on the dumplings is too thick. Spam Musubi - it's just spam meat & seaweed wrapped over rice. Nothing too special. Overall, give this place a try if you're ever around this area!

You get to build your burrito by picking two proteins: charred chicken thigh, herb roasted chicken, tender prime beef, shrimp, ahi tuna (raw), salmon (raw), crabmeat, spicy tuna, or tofu. All burritos include cucumber, lettuce, onion, cilantro, pickled radish, wonton crisps, and avocado. I chose ahi tuna and salmon. I'm used to my scallion pancakes being crispy. Unfortunately, this scallion pancake was kind of soggy. I ate it at a countertop at the front of the store, so it wasn't like I was carrying it in a takeout box and it got soggy over time. I wanted to like it, especially since it's got everything I like: scallion pancake, ahi tuna, salmon, veggies, all wrapped up into burrito form. But the soggy scallion pancake was kind of a letdown.

Since it was delivery, I cannot say anything about the restaurant itself (service, decoration, vibe etc), I can only comment on the food. The portion wasn't small, but it certainly wasn't big. We were all still a little hungry after eating our bowls. Regarding my order, the goma shoyu tuna, the fish was good, but not great and for my bowl at least, I felt it was lacking in flavor. I did not taste any chili oil and the only real flavor present in the dish came from the seaweed salad. Chikarashi does not allow you to make your own poke bowl, which I feel is unfortunate. I usually like to get both tuna and salmon and add a bunch of toppings/ingredients and that is not an option for any of their bowls.

But if I had to choose between a bowl of ramen from a Japanese restaurant or this saimin, you can't pay me to choose the latter. It was like a whitewashed version of ramen, in which the broth had a vegetable flavor and not rich at all. The toppings were Naruto slices and bits of veggies. The katsu was ok but not memorable. We had loco moco from vert frais (jap French fusion eatery in LIC) recently, and that was so much better. The patty here was neither tender nor juicy. The sauce was pretty average but vert frais' was above average. I was really looking forward to the macaroni salad in the plate but they didn't give a lot (they piled it on some rice so it looked like more than it was). The Mac salad was also a little on the plainer side. Only had a couple of carrot shreds I'm tempted to come back to try their seafood but I have my doubts
