Enchiladas Zacatecan--great!
C C.

I had the Enchiladas Zacatecan and loved them. Soft corn tortillas stuffed with ground seasoned pork and topped with a mild green mole sprinkled with sunflower seeds. I liked that the flavors were not drowned in cheese and you could taste each flavor but all together it was a creamy flavorful bite. The side of rice was fluffy and the charro beans had a nice smoky bacon flavor. The ice tea was fresh and frequently replaced with a fresh new cold tea.

First coming here since I was in town, and was needing some food. Came across this place and actually had nice dining experience! The drinks were delicious, the food was fresh and service was decent. I appreciate that they accepted us late, even thought they were closing at 12. Very nice roomy place for families and nice date spot too! Delicious food, nice vibes and service all around. I would try again in future at this spot and see what it will offer next!

Oh my lord ... hands down the very best Tex-Mex I have ever had !!! And DaBid was the sweetest and most efficient server , very knowledgeable about the whole menu. At no time did I not have a full drink or needed for anything ... the atmosphere was traditional looking in Mexican decor with lovely music playing ... I will totally be back .

Our server was friendly and accommodating. I e been wanting to try TexMex food. Today was my chance. Coming from San Diego, where Mexican food is greatly influenced by Baja style cooking, my family is picky. I'm so glad I convinced them to give Braceros a try. I could taste the regional difference. I enjoyed the subtle nuances.

We had a large Guacamole and it was super tasty! Lots of salsa, I do prefer mine a little more on the chunky side. It had just the right amount of heat! My entree was Chicken Fajitas. I liked them too! Not too much seasoning on the chicken. Great waiter Jose! Thanks for a wonderful dinner!

Had a great meal while spending 24 hours in Amarillo. My drink was better than I could've asked for. Chips are a little disappointing. I didn't feel like I needed to eat them. Everything else was delicious.

What a great surprise! Great Queso Fundido foodies!

Ya'll! Was absolutely delighted with our service and the food. It was delish! Chips were served to the table with a CARAFE of salsa. Alriiight! We started with Queso Fundido. The beef was perfection. Lots of cheese served with 2 flour tortillas. Yum. Then my sis and I split Tacos Al Carbon. It was just enough for two people. We were full! Stop by have lunch or dinner. You'll be glad you did foodies!

Our server was very attentive and cheery. They have a very large two level dining area. The steaks are grilled in plain sight in front of the stage where the world famous 72 oz steak challenge takes place. They bring out fresh baked rolls with your meal. The half order of fried mushrooms was great. My son enjoyed his two 5 oz steak filets, my wife was very pleased with her Prime Rib. I was disappointed with my rib eye, I had to trim off too much fat. The desert was delicious. Overall, don't expect a steak you would be served at a fine steakhouse, but definitely give the Steak Ranch a visit.

We ended up ordering the 1/2 lb Cheeseburger w Mac & Cheese & the 10 ounce Prime Rib w a side Caesar Salad. As mentioned above everything was absolutely fantastic! Our server, Estefania, did an excellent job of taking care of us despite it being a full house & the prices were more than fair ( 2 Entrees, 2 sides & 3 Cocktails ) for $ 100.37. We liked everything so much we came back for Breakfast the following morning & that was terrific as well. The Big Texan is far more than just the novelty of the 72 ounce Steak challenge, it's the total package. Next time we find ourselves in Amarillo we will absolutely have Dinner here again. Thank you Big Texan for such a memorable experience!

This place was *PACKED*! We sat on the patio and I didn't even go inside to get my drinks - I just waited for the waitress to come outside. Fast forward almost a year later... A friend and I were looking for a chill place to get a drink on a Tuesday night. I didn't want to see anybody I knew from anywhere for any reason. So we came here. There was maybe five other people in the bar. Nice and dark inside, cool couches, awesome art and coffee shop-style tables for two or three. Excellent selection of high-end liquor. I ordered a Knob Creek and water, a drink I would never consider ordering anywhere else, a.) because most bars don't carry Knob Creek, and b.) because I usually visit cheap bars to pound drink specials and get out of the house. I really think of this as the coffee shop of bars. It's a place to sip on a nice drink and have an actual conversation, instead of yelling over Kid Rock on the jukebox. A little on the pricey side, but the drinks all come in doubles glasses and the ambiance is cool when it's not packed. I will be back soon, but not on a weekend night.

That should have been my first warning about this place. It's a cute bar but they are dishonest about their prices. The white wine I asked for was $9 on the menu. When I asked my server when I got the first bill I thought happy hour was going on she said " It might be applied to just our house wines." Then, when I pointed out there was a discrepancy on the menu vs. the first bill I received she looked at it and said " Well that might be because the register automatically just applied that charge to the bill". I ended up paying for the happy hour payment after all. It just seems sketchy she hiked up the price for one glass of wine.

The cocktails were excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the Pecan Goldie, served in a martini glass--a sweeter take on an Old Fashioned. Next was the Bomb City Cosmo, another refreshing cocktail also served in a martini glass. We ordered appetizers and dinner, and everything was great. The menu comes from Toscana Italian restaurant upstairs, and we enjoyed every dish. For appetizers, we had the spinach artichoke dip and pretzel bites--very creamy, and the pretzel bites were warm and delicious. We also tried two salads: the BLT Wedge Salad and the Shaved Brussels Sprout Parmesan Salad. Both were hearty and very filling. We finished with the chocolate pistachio cake, which was a delightful dessert. Happy Hour: Their website advertises $6 liquor Monday through Friday from 5-7 PM. However, the bartender didn't seem to honor it, saying happy hour is upstairs--though that's not what the website states. He did make it right by charging only for two drinks, which equaled the price of the three drinks that should have been on happy hour. Hopefully they begin honoring the posted happy hour pricing. Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I look forward to returning. Evelyn, our server, was very attentive and kind throughout our visit.

Having said that, this is a drinking and pool playing bar. We sat at the bar, and the waitress/bartender told us it used to be a strip club. There are no windows anywhere, so my wife had already predicted that. It was Saint Patrick's Day, so most of the patrons, and us, were wearing green. They had green clover wall hangings and other appropriate decorations. I thought that was a nice touch. Lots of locals, who know each other, hang out at this bar. They do allow dogs inside. The mood inside was boisterous and energized. Since it was St. Patty's day and we were in Texas, I ordered a Yuengling Black & Tan. This consisted of a porter mixed with premium beer. A clean, refreshing beer. After downing that, I ordered the ingredients to create a black trash. I poured a Guinness on top of MGD. You could substitute Budweiser for the MGD. This wasn't pairing well and the Yuengling was much better. I ended the night with a dirty blonde, Guinness on top of Stella Artois. Our waitress let me use a bar spoon to float the Guinness on top of both these drinks. The dirty blonde tasted better than the Black Trash and was more balanced. If you want some cheap drinks, friendly service and relaxation, than visit this local, "real" bar.
