It's my neighborhood gas station and I stop by once a week for gas and more frequently for Diet Cokes. The owners are super pleasant and always say hi and ask how things are going. I've only once in 10 years had a problem with the credit card scanner at the pump; otherwise, it has always worked for me and so has the air pump. Space is clean. Trash bins get emptied. Windshield washer cleaner thing is always there. Good snack and soda selection. On occasion I get there in time on a Sunday morning to score a Chicago Tribune before they sell out. Traffic pattern does take some getting used to as it is built on the intersection of two busy roads but I can usually pull in off Ridgeland and get what I need and get out going north on Ridgeland. I normally wouldn't Yelp a gas station but I feel bad they only had two stars. They are much nicer than that. It's not posh but GoLo is a safe and clean place to buy gas in the area.

(Unsure about how it would fare as a percentage of income or anything nerdy like that.) seeing gas as high as $5.99 is not an uncommon sight at the moment. I was in Oak Park over the weekend and it seemed like a good idea to check since the suburbs are usually cheaper, and this was no exception. $5.22 per gallon may be the cheapest I've seen it in weeks. There may be a reason for that. I don't know about the quality of the gas, and perhaps I should have stopped at the Shell across the street that was 5¢ per gallon cheaper. But it's powered my car. This station is small, six pumps. It wasn't terribly busy when I was here. There's a small convenience store, and they have a vacuum and air pump (positive about the first, pretty sure about the second).
