I've been here a few times, it's not a huge park at approximately 400 acres, but it is big enough,…read moreand absolutely beautiful at certain times in the spring with an abundance of azaleas and rhododendrons producing a plethora of spectacular blossoms. There are two popular running and hiking trails, Eames Pond via old Bringham Road (1.8 miles) and Davis Hill Field/Laurel Hill Loop (1.7 miles). We hiked most of these two on this visit. There are many other trails for hiking, walking and exploring including the Black Hill Road Trail, Azalea Path and Judy's Secret Garden Loop Trail. Many of these feature beautiful azaleas, rhododendrons and other flora to be admired in the Spring. Eames Pond offers nice views, from the bridge and some of the trails. There is also a lovely cascading stream, small waterfall, sawmill and other historic buildings. There are some picnic tables scattered about, I could argue Moore needs more of these! That said, Moore needs a lot more parking. The lot is small, and many people park alongside the road, making it difficult for two cars to pass. Overall, this is a very pleasant park to visit, and you can take dogs on a leash. Note that there is no swimming here.

The trails at Moore State Park are pretty nice to look at, and they make for some decent nature…read morewalking as well. Tip: Unfortunately, the trails are poorly marked and contain no signage with any kind of background information. Despite the down sides, we read about this park in a magazine, and enjoyed our first visit enough to come back some day.

Love this park... Went with the BFF this past weekend when in Marlboro…read more.. She had been talking about it & considering my son isnt LOVING water at this stage in life, I was apprehensive... But Im SOOOO Glad that we went... First off the parking is weird & far away, but at least glad there is ample parking... The park is enclosed & this is a HUGE plus coming from the mother of a very curious little boy who wants to run all around at times... I am not worried that he has wandered off (I dont usually let him out of my sight for 1 sec, but still the gate is good) The sand box might have been the biggest "OOHHH" moment for me, there must have been 754 Dump Trucks & other little sand things & I asked my gf rather excitedly "Do these come with the park", because as I had noted earlier my son tends to be very curious and will almost climb into or onto other peoples strollers/bikes, so these being the parks toys was super exciting, he could play & I wouldnt have to continually tell him NO & keep apologizing to other parents... The climby, slide thingy (what are those called anyway) was rather large & there were several things that could be climbed up & down & ran across with several slides on it... I even climbed up there... The sprinkler pad was not on when we went - they close at 4 on Saturdays (will keep in mind for next time) There are picnic tables & benches all around & there are basketball courts AND A PORT-A-POTTY!!! How cool is that, not that I would use it but the conveinence is still pretty cool! I will def be back soon (prolly this Sat)...

A lovely little park to appreciate some truly remarkable and under appreciated history in the area…read more Goddard was born and raised here in Ma, and paved the way for us to land on the moon (his science helped launch the famous Apollo flight, among many other accomplishments.) he created critical scientific developments during both world wars. He's worth googling in my humble opinion. There is a nice walking path and lovely views of the water with ducks and crickets. I took a star off because it's right on the main road so you hear the traffic and football practice at the high school across the street. Also to access, you pull into the fire station and park along the back row, or else park at the library and walk over along the sidewalk.

"I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no no no I'm a…read morerocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone" (Rocket Man -written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin) We've all seen city parks, right? Some are big, some are small. But how many parks will you find behind a fire station, across the street from a shopping mall, with a full size replica of a rocket aimed at the sky? Goddard Memorial Park honors the memory of Dr. Robert H. Goddard, considered to be father of the liquid fueled rocket. He launched over 30 rockets between 1926 and 1941. The very first one was launched right here, from an Auburn, MA farm owned by his aunt, on March 16, 1926. The park and it's eye-catching centerpiece was dedicated by the Rotary Club of Auburn in 1970. A plaque near the rocket reads: DR. ROBERT H. GODDARD PARK FIRST LIQUID PROPELLANT ROCKET LAUNCHED IN AUBURN MASS. MAR. 16, 1926 BY R. H. GODDARD THIS PARK DEDICATED TO HIS MEMORY BY THE ROTARY CLUB OF AUBURN 1970 A nearby sign reads: THIS IS A TRUE SIZE DUPLICATE OF THE WORLD'S FIRST LIQUID FUEL ROCKET ENGINE. THE FIRST SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT WAS MADE 1/2 MILE EAST OF HERE ON MARCH 16TH 1926 BY DR. ROBERT H. GODDARD
