The park was clean and was busy with family parties, softball games and tennis matches.

Love this park... Went with the BFF this past weekend when in Marlboro…read more.. She had been talking about it & considering my son isnt LOVING water at this stage in life, I was apprehensive... But Im SOOOO Glad that we went... First off the parking is weird & far away, but at least glad there is ample parking... The park is enclosed & this is a HUGE plus coming from the mother of a very curious little boy who wants to run all around at times... I am not worried that he has wandered off (I dont usually let him out of my sight for 1 sec, but still the gate is good) The sand box might have been the biggest "OOHHH" moment for me, there must have been 754 Dump Trucks & other little sand things & I asked my gf rather excitedly "Do these come with the park", because as I had noted earlier my son tends to be very curious and will almost climb into or onto other peoples strollers/bikes, so these being the parks toys was super exciting, he could play & I wouldnt have to continually tell him NO & keep apologizing to other parents... The climby, slide thingy (what are those called anyway) was rather large & there were several things that could be climbed up & down & ran across with several slides on it... I even climbed up there... The sprinkler pad was not on when we went - they close at 4 on Saturdays (will keep in mind for next time) There are picnic tables & benches all around & there are basketball courts AND A PORT-A-POTTY!!! How cool is that, not that I would use it but the conveinence is still pretty cool! I will def be back soon (prolly this Sat)...

The Worcester Common Oval - 7/19/2024

    The Worcester Common Oval

I visited the Common in winter when it was covered in snow, so I couldn't really 'see' the park…read more The ice skating rink wasn't open when I visited, so I didn't get to skate either. Still, from what I could see, this looks looks like a very nice city 'green space'. The Worcester Common Oval is where a skating rink is installed in the winter. Prices to skate are reasonable and if you don't have skates, you can rent a pair. In summer concerts and festivals are hosted in this space. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the late 17th century, the Common was 20 acres. The current site is just over four acres. At one point, the Common was used as the militia training ground. Later it was the burying ground and today there are still gravesites located in the park. There are three war memorials inside the park, one of which is a large water fountain, and we noticed two art installations during our visit. Behind the Oval is City Hall making for some really nice photos across the park. There are benches around the park and in winter the pathways were shoveled. I imagine in warmer weather the park is filled with locals enjoying the day. Having lived in a big city, I very much appreciate a public park where you can go and enjoy some open space and the city can host public events. Was wondering 3 or 4 but my bias got in the way to give a 4 stars…read more Why not 5 you ask? There's no public restroom or atleast I haven't seen one even after living here for a year and visiting it so many many times. Yes there are issues during times and you want to be safe but ask yourself, "Is Central Park in nyc safe around all time of the year and in every nook and corner?" It's in downtown folks. Be wary of the time you visit however big big shout-out to the city for arranging excellent events from time to time. Let's make #wooval kid friendly family friendly gathering place again.
