A sign on a black metal gate shows farm hours from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 2:45 PM, and indicates the farm is closed on Mondays.

This park is absolutely amazing!!! Well-manicured landscape from front to back. This park has so much to offer!! Walking paths, hiking trails, biking trails, a free farm to visit animals (with a tiny playground for younger kids), a playground for ages 5-12, little league field, soccer pitch, a lake, a pond with fountain, covered BBQ area, info signs about the trees, historical info signs. The pond is home to the most tadpoles I've ever seen anywhere! Overall, an excellent place!

A beautiful small bridge in the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.

If I could live in this park, I would. I am from Vegas and stumbled across this park while exploring Worcester. I first went into the area that has the Vietnam War memorial. I was so touched by the love and respect the builders of this memorial put into it. The letters home, the flags, the names of the soldiers, and the memorial to the service dogs. I spent a lot of time in there. Walked around the pond, took lots of pictures, and sat on one of the benches for a while. I then went over to the lake across from the memorial and took in the cool air, the view and the green. I actually thought I was done at that point. So I got in my car, started to leave, and... there was a small farm with animals. Animals?!? You know I parked that car so fast! Pigs, goats, donkeys, mini horses, chickens, alpacas... I had the best time hanging out with all those cuties. As I left the park, I noticed various play areas for kids in the middle of gorgeous green landscape. If I lived in this area, this would be my go to spot every weekend. Peaceful and beautiful.

He's worth googling in my humble opinion. There is a nice walking path and lovely views of the water with ducks and crickets. I took a star off because it's right on the main road so you hear the traffic and football practice at the high school across the street. Also to access, you pull into the fire station and park along the back row, or else park at the library and walk over along the sidewalk.

Some are big, some are small. But how many parks will you find behind a fire station, across the street from a shopping mall, with a full size replica of a rocket aimed at the sky? Goddard Memorial Park honors the memory of Dr. Robert H. Goddard, considered to be father of the liquid fueled rocket. He launched over 30 rockets between 1926 and 1941. The very first one was launched right here, from an Auburn, MA farm owned by his aunt, on March 16, 1926. The park and it's eye-catching centerpiece was dedicated by the Rotary Club of Auburn in 1970. A plaque near the rocket reads: DR. ROBERT H. Union Station - View of Worcester Train Station

At it's peak, 140 trains were making there way through this station, daily. Over the years it has served a variety of railroads and switched hands multiple times. As routes were moved away from Worcester, ridership decreased and in 1972 Amtrak boarded up the building and began to use a much smaller brick building nearby as it's station. By 1992 a group of locals began efforts to rehab the old station to it's original beauty. After several years of effort and planning, during which the building was purchased by the Commonwealth of MA, the building finally began restoration and in 2000 the building reopened to railway passengers. A small part of the station is set aside for rail passengers. Here you'll find a map of commuter rails and a MBTA ticket kiosk. There is no Amtrak customer service available here. You can purchase Amtrak tickets originating at this station through their web site. There is a small waiting area, a Worcester public library book vending machine, a police substation and a QR code that will link you to a walking tour of the Blackstone canal area. There is an elevator up to the platform level and ramps down to the bus level. Three vending machines are available for snacks and beverages. Public restrooms are older but clean enough as public restrooms go. The main part of the building is a beautiful vaulted hall that can be rented out for private events. This area is closed off during event and open to the public when not in use. There are also two dining areas off this main hall and a parking garage next door. The official website has information about renting the event space. Another example of the beautiful historic architecture you will find in this historic city.

About 20 years ago they decided to remodel it and spent millions of dollars to renovate it and bring it back to its glory. Every time we would drive by I wondered what it looked like inside and think that I needed to check it out someday. So a few days ago as we drove by my husband said "do you want to stop and check out Union Station?" YES!!!! There is a parking garage directly behind it with easy access into the station. The station is HUGE (well, not as big as the NYC!) and we walked throughout checking everything out. The station was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon and everything was closed (restaurants, coffee shop, police station etc), there was just a handful of people either waiting on a train or bus. The architecture was absolutely beautiful as most buildings built in this era were. I have no idea how well the ticketing and schedules work, but it is definitely a beautiful building worth checking out.

Still, from what I could see, this looks looks like a very nice city 'green space'. The Worcester Common Oval is where a skating rink is installed in the winter. Prices to skate are reasonable and if you don't have skates, you can rent a pair. In summer concerts and festivals are hosted in this space. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the late 17th century, the Common was 20 acres. The current site is just over four acres. At one point, the Common was used as the militia training ground. Later it was the burying ground and today there are still gravesites located in the park. There are three war memorials inside the park, one of which is a large water fountain, and we noticed two art installations during our visit. Behind the Oval is City Hall making for some really nice photos across the park. There are benches around the park and in winter the pathways were shoveled. I imagine in warmer weather the park is filled with locals enjoying the day. Having lived in a big city, I very much appreciate a public park where you can go and enjoy some open space and the city can host public events.
