I've been here a few times, it's not a huge park at approximately 400 acres, but it is big enough, and absolutely beautiful at certain times in the spring with an abundance of azaleas and rhododendrons producing a plethora of spectacular blossoms. There are two popular running and hiking trails, Eames Pond via old Bringham Road (1.8 miles) and Davis Hill Field/Laurel Hill Loop (1.7 miles). We hiked most of these two on this visit. There are many other trails for hiking, walking and exploring including the Black Hill Road Trail, Azalea Path and Judy's Secret Garden Loop Trail. Many of these feature beautiful azaleas, rhododendrons and other flora to be admired in the Spring. Eames Pond offers nice views, from the bridge and some of the trails. There is also a lovely cascading stream, small waterfall, sawmill and other historic buildings. There are some picnic tables scattered about, I could argue Moore needs more of these! That said, Moore needs a lot more parking. The lot is small, and many people park alongside the road, making it difficult for two cars to pass. Overall, this is a very pleasant park to visit, and you can take dogs on a leash. Note that there is no swimming here. read more

The trails at Moore State Park are pretty nice to look at, and they make for some decent nature walking as well. Tip: Unfortunately, the trails are poorly marked and contain no signage with any kind of background information. Despite the down sides, we read about this park in a magazine, and enjoyed our first visit enough to come back some day. read more

It's a pretty small park, with two short loop hikes (that can be cutoff to be made even shorter), including a nice pond and old mill. Tons of tree shade on the trails. Because of the small size, road noise follows. Bring bug spray in season. read more

If you're using Yelp to get directions to this park just know it's off a bit. The entrance is about 1 minute before yelp tells you to turn so look out for the sign. It's easy to see. Parking lot is not as big as I thought it would be but I went on a cloudy day. A few outhouses there and a map posted. They were out of paper maps when I went so I just screenshot the map with my phone and I always mark the gps location of where I park so as I can find my way back. Lots of great paths to hike. Beautiful Azalea bushes everywhere! Pink, white, purple! Incredible place for picture taking. You can bike on the paved roads but I noticed that a lot of paths have signage that say no bikes allowed. I saw a few people on horseback too. Their website says no dogs allowed but I saw almost a dozen people walking their dog. Fantastic views of the water and I bet the sunset/sunrise is amazing! There's and old restored gristmill with a beautiful waterfall that's so soothing to listen to while the birds are chirping away. Website also says you can kayak or canoe here too. I'm bringing my kayak next trip. Whatever you do here do not miss the Artist overlook. Great park! read more

Scenic, peaceful, and free! This park is well maintained, with some nice trails and views. This is our go-to spot for walking the dog. The only down side is the people who do not pick up after their dogs. This happens everywhere, so I guess it's to be expected. read more

This park has quite a bit to see - waterfalls, an old sawmill, a bat house, a pond, and woodland habitat with a lot of flora. I did not make it there during rhododendon season but still enjoyed it. The portable toilets had not been serviced in 11 days (there's a maintenance sign off sheet hanging inside) and were very close to the top. There was also no toilet paper. I LOVE Moore! It's really such a gorgeous place to go walking! My family and I often take our dog there. It's an amazing place for pictures, too! In the summer there are so many gorgeous flowers and other plants growing, as well as a waterfall, bridges, and an old barn structure that make unique and enchanting backdrops for any kind of photo! read more

We stopped by after brunch, nearby. What a breathtaking spot. Take your dogs, take your kids and explore. The waterfall is spectacular!

Hi, this park is lovely and has a lot of very pretty features but it is currently undergoing major reconstruction to the dam. So if you are into heavy machinery and noise this is for you, if not the work is supposed to be done in the spring. I met a friend here for a hike and she has been many times before and has had many family photos taken here. She was a little traumatized by the construction but was reassured that the remodeling of the dam and area is supposed to stay true to the parks original features and hardscaping. I think we will be back in the spring! read more

Absolutely the best place on Earth to spend a lazy day with Mother Nature. Trails for all skill types but beware they are dirt trails. Lounge chairs and picnic tables. The waterfalls are beautiful. The rhododendrons are beyond beautiful when they are in season. Dog friendly too! read more

Great place to go for walks either by yourself, with your dog or family and kids. Places to sit down for a picnic throughout the park, lots of walking and hiking trails. The views are beautiful there and the waterfall. read more

Beautiful park! Historic buildings are viewable from the paved path, but side trails allow you to explore further. Definitely check out the "artist's viewpoint" accessible by a relatively short dirt trail (I'm lousy at judging distances). The trails are groomed in that any leaves and hazards are removed, but they are natural, ie, lumpy bumpy with roots and rocks. One trail goes through a giant patch of rhododendrons.... I'll definitely have to return when they are in bloom... I bet it's beautiful! Chairs by the lakeside make for a scenic spot to enjoy the day. There is a toilet (pit toilet most likely, but I didn't check it out) near the main parking area. A handicapped parking area is further down the road and closer to the historic structures. My only complaint is that there is only one trail map, and that's located near the main parking area. It'd be nice to have one near the pond/pavilion. read more
