(I forgot to update the review) The new manager called me & left me a voicemail about seeing this review on Yelp. She was super understanding & very sweet. She told me I could come in and get the money they owed me and the whole staff knew I was coming in so it wasn't a surprise. She told me she preferred if I came in when she was working just so she could talk to me & start all over with my experience with the store. I'm hardly around that area.. Only when I go get my hair done. I went in and she wasn't working, which I would have loved to meet her. But instead I was greeted by the most adorable guy ever! He was every welcoming and talked to my sister, niece & myself as if we were long time friends! I forgot his name since it was a while back. This place just needed a better manager. And they got her! If you love anything out of the ordinary definitely come here! This place has a lot of things that are difficult to find in other stores! Whenever I need to buy anything anime, comics, comedy, and fantasy this is the place to go! They have a variety of Disney, Harry Potter, and Game of thrones merchandise! Although their merchandise is pretty pricey, but it is worth it, especially for a birthday gift! They are stylish both in clothing, bags, and essentials needs! I absolutely love it! I didn't know this place existed until I started my Christmas shopping for this year. Such an awesome store! The 90s kid in me was overjoyed with nostalgia! They have super cool pop culture t-shirts, games, accessories, etc. Lots of throwback type stuff and new things as well. I've gone in a few times already and each time the staff was super friendly. Can't say enough positive things about this location! Such an awesome eclectic mix of items that are always fun and great for gift giving and receiving lol! This store is currently providing me with the worst customer service ever and is refusing to work with the customer service department to resolve my issue. Literally refusing. Prices are way higher here than other locations and product quality is poor. Bought a Rick and Morty sun visor for way too much money given the fact that within a month of buying it, the image on the front has come off in peices all over my car. Bad first impression. read more

My boyfriend and I love this place. There is a Northridge location closer to us but we'd rather sit in traffic for an hour than deal with the terrible customer service at Northridge. We've been really into the little mystery box packages and they have the best selection here. My boyfriend went last week and he said Chris and the assistant manager sat on the floor with him for almost 30 minutes trying to figure out which characters were inside each one so we wouldn't end up with the ones we didn't want. There is no such thing as better customer service than what we experience here time and time again. Five stars to a store that truly works hard to deserve it. read more

Most of the staff is very friendly. Really cool nerdy (if not overpriced) knick knacks, clothes, and appliances. But I did have a pretty lousy encounter with one of the managers named Shakima. Apparently there are a couple people who have commented below about his attitude ( tall, lanky, snazzy clothing). I went in to exchange an item and he gave me attitude from the start. He sounded like I was an inconvenience for him to do the exchange. He rolled his eyes, gave big exhales, and had a pretty lousy demeanor. It was also a bit late when I went to do the exchange and him and a few other employees were sort of playing around since it was dead. He acted like I interrupted him. I get it, I've worked in customer service for 10 years. You're underpaid, overworked, and have to deal with customers who feel entitled. I agree the customer is not always right. But this guy is just rude for no reason. Super bitchy attitude that might come off as endearing with friends but it's very unprofessional and mean to strangers. read more

I was walking by casually and saw the great selection, walked in, completely blown away by the great selection of items spanning many genres. After about a half hour of browsing I came across a night sky planetarium projector for 26 bucks. On my way to checkout Shannon the store manager made sure that I knew about the clearance deals and exactly where to find them, so I was able to get 2 more items for my wife. A word about Shannon, she really made the experience there for me warm and friendly. She had great recommendations, very personable, and quite honestly, I was having a rough day, like one of those days where you just give on people altogether...but her energy, helpfulness, and effervescence really changed the day for me. She's great, I hope she makes it to the top of that company. So 5 star review for the store and a special 5 star review for Shannon. read more

I love coming in this store. Although I always have to sneak in here like a ninja so they don't greet me. I know it's their job, but I like to do my own thing. I always leave empty handed because of the prices and there are some interesting gems in here. BoxLunch is a fun place to look at but not really purchase. So you can offer your help but I'm not looking for anything in particular. I couldn't afford it even if I was. People always say this is like a kid hot topic but personally it looks like they stole some of the interesting items from hot topic and put it on the shelf. This is a 5 stars for me! read more

I was "helped" by a tall very thin African American man and I remember thinking he was very stylishly dressed. If only his attitude were as good as his style. He was very rude, annoyed, impatient, and really made me feel like I was bothering him. The only way to describe his attitude was "bitchy". I will not be back to this store ever.
