incompetent staff and very rude owner! My box was lost while in their possession and the owner was indifferent.

We shipped a box of presents right before Christmas with the Box Stop and through a clerical error it was sent to wrong address and to top things off porch pirates made off with the package/Christmas Gifts. I met with Michael at the Box Stop to discuss what remedies might be available and after a couple of discussions, Michael and the Box Stop stepped up and made things right. I mailed a very important letter from the Box Stop. I paid for tracking and trusted their experience and customer service. The letter was never scanned and there was no tracking information available. After a trip to 2 Post Offices and an unpleasant conversation with an employee. I was told that I would have to contact the owner, Christy Adkins. I called her and left a voicemail, no response. Today, I went in and had an unproductive and unpleasant conversation with Christy. She said she was just asking questions but clearly she understood that I wanted 1. wanted my money back 2. wanted to make sure no other customer had this problem. I left without a refund and was basically called unchristian and a liar. Additionally, I incurred a stop payment fee from the bank. I have used this business many times before. Beware. If there is a problem, it's your responsibility and fault. read more

This was a wonderful one stop shipping place next to the post office. They offered UPS and Fedex shipping, had many size boxes for shipping and wrapping gifts with wrapping paper available. Very helpful and friendly as well. read more

Went in to send a Christmas gift box to my grandson, I was met with a tall brunette man with a grizzly bear attitude. As he asked me questions while he was looking up my information, (as I've used this box stop service since 2003, when it was owned by a gentleman with THE nicest, most compassionate, caring, polite, genuinely kind soul), this guy was shut down, cold, rude and used a forceful tone with me. USPS was going to charge me $106. for the box and the destination, Box Stop: $103., so he cut my box down, to make it smaller in order to charge less, then shoved one of my very bendable items down into the box , I said to him that I put that item at the top of the box so it wouldn't bend, He said, oh it will end up at the top anyways with the box tossing and turning in shipping! I said the items on top would keep it on the bottom (the box contained too many items for that to happen, especially after the box was cut down on the sides! Der!). He printed out the label and receipt , slapped it on the box and whipped my receipt at me and said coldly, there you go! I immediately had the afterthought : I wasn't offered insurance and I forgot to ask! I then felt my expensive box, with expensive items was completely at the mercy whatever now! I will not be returning, I wish the owner from 2003 was still there. As I was putting things back into my purse, another lady came into the store, I watched the guy treat her the same cold, rude and shut down way, she was so shocked and intimidated by him and his abusive demeanor she could barely speak as he towered over her barraging her with questions! I suggest reporting any financial disputes to the CFPB under the FTC! read more

I'm posting because of the excellent manner in which the manager today facilitated my shipping need and the entire line with speed and class. It was the first sunny, slightly warm day after Christmas and they were getting slammed. In line there were customers sending packages all over the place with special requests ( wrapping, etc). Nancy? greeted everyone when they came in the door and asked if they just had a drop-off and eliminated confusion. They were busy, but when you see they are working competently and trying to save everyone some headaches and $ the line wasn't a concern. The line moved more quickly than I expected. I'm quick to get irritated when I feel like I'm cattle and wasting my time. Today they handled us with care, stayed open after closing and earned the repeat business. This might sound like a cheesy plug, but it amplifies my experience above. Stan and his team have been helping me quite a bit on shipping strategy. How to ship for the lowest cost within certain shipping radius based on size and weight. We've saved and learned plenty. It eliminates that concern about 'did I just spend $60 to ship something that might have cost me $20 if I knew the sizes and shipping options between carriers'. The staff at the Landsdowne location works the line with professionalism and personality. Lots of regular customers who know the routine, but lot's of patience and wisdom for people shipping random sizes and weights. read more

Older lady with grey hair was absurdly rude. I wanted to price a shipment overseas and she kept making excuses about how expensive it would be etc. Made an audible sigh and eyeroll and started to complain about having to type information into the computer to get a price. I cannot imagine someone being so put out by doing their job.. It wasn't even busy.. Thursday morning 11am no other customers in the store.. Ended up next door at USPS..I will never go back here and that lady should no longer have a job!! Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this place. read more

I had to ship some things out of state. I called and was directed to Stan. He took complete care of everything. They picked up all the stuff from the house, over 500 lb. They palletized it and got it shipped for me to a residential address with no problems. Would highly recommend. read more

Poor service if anyone besides the owner takes care of you. If the old lady with grey hair waits on you she doesn't give you a proper receipt unless you insist on one. The 20 something young man with a cast on his leg isn't much better. I had one package to go usps. The other one for UPS. He sent them both USPS then raised his voice at me when I asked for tracking numbers!!! It wasn't until I got home and entered the tracking numbers did I realize what he had done. Now the expensive package due to arrive on 11th won't get there until 13th Maybe. I hope I never have to use this store again. read more

If you enjoy profoundly incompetent and childishly rude people, you'll love this place. If you use the usps for shipping be prepared for attitude. You can spend 10X the cost at this place or go next door to the post office. After spending $50 in the store on packaging material, I was accused of stealing ONE FOOT of packing foam. After offering to produce the receipt, the haranguing continued. We all know about that sweet, sweet street price for packing foam. On an unrelated note, there are terrific medications for menopause. On the plus side, brick and mortar stores are biting the dust. read more

Unprofessional and unresponsive. Books shipped by Box stop arrived with the postman carrying a box to try and hold it together. The boxes used were of below shipping standard and books had just been thrown into them. Even contacting before shipping did not insure safe shipping. They were unresponsive to follow-up emails. A friend had boxes shipped as well that he never received as they so badly damaged they were sent to postal recovery. read more
