They encouraged me to keep coming back over the course of three days without any pressure to make a decision. They also assured me that if I made a good choice but not a great one, they would allow me to return the mattress and support me in repeating the process until the right fit was found. We shopped for several days and visited multiple places because we have small children (under 5) that have severe allergies to certain materials. Shane assured us over and over that the 100 day trial was completely risk free and that in no way would the children be in danger of coming in contact with the material. I have that in a text from Shane. Low and behold the children did get sick and when we called to process the return Shane did everything except respond. When he finally did respond they sent out two guys who admitted they knew absolutely nothing about mattresses but they were instructed to leave it if it looked used. Shannon stated that in order to process a return they needed to be able to sell the mattress at a discount rate. But neither of the "professionals" in this instance ever evaluated the mattress. Only took the word of two movers who openly admitted to knowing nothing about mattresses. Still no response from Shane. Shannon however was brave enough to respond and stated that Shane would call me as soon as he finished putting up shelving in the back. Must be a large custom job because we still haven't heard from him. This is a completely different Shane than the one who was working so hard to get our business. Who seemed so knowledgeable and confident in the product he sells. Seems like he cared more about making money than he did for the safety and concern for our children.

After that was completed, I returned to purchase a new mattress but Robert was not available and another salesman assisted me. I was happy to complete the warranty process (which was fairly simple), I now find myself wishing i knew more about the refund process than i was told. First, the refund was a credit with the store, not an actual refund of cash. Second, although the refund could be used on any brand mattress FM sells, the warranty on the NEW mattress has the same expiration date as the OLD mattress. That is, the 10-year warranty on my new mattress will expire in two years. Third, i was told if I'm not happy with the new mattress, too bad. There are no exchanges or returns on mattresses purchased with a warranty credit. So looks like I'm stuck with a brick of a mattress that is nothing like the comfy one i tried in the store. After checking out competitors like Casper and Purple, we ended up ordering their "Mint" mattress after trying it out in store. The mint mattress is their middle range mattress which focuses on cool sleeping, reliable support, and elevated comfort. I love it because it's considered medium firm but softer than their original and is ultimately optimized for side-sleepers while being slightly more plush for pressure relief. I previously owned a queen spring mattress and this is a major upgrade! If considering any of the "bed in a box" options, I would highly recommend you check out Tuft & Needle as it blew Casper and Purple away in terms of comfort and price.

They are not lying when they tell you they offer lower prices. They are able to apply any available sales prices from Helix, Avocado, etc. and they have the ability to add discounts on top of that. My husband and I were not sold but then we went home and crunched numbers before going with ordering from OSG. It was hundreds of dollars difference for the same product. Our shipping was slightly delayed but overall not a huge issue for us.
