They take alot of interest in the animals here and provide well for them. Willy loves playing with other dogs here although sometimes they break up the play too much... How do I know that??? There is a webcam you can use to watch your dog during his/her stay. Not sure they have updated to support MACs yet. Haven't tried the overnight boarding yet, but Willy loves going for day care. He can hardly wait to get inside. OKay they got the MAC webcam configuration set up and it took me less than 5 minutes to get it running! awesome! read more

I am really sad that I have to write this review but after hearing of several bad experiences with Mary (the owner) from other professional groomers and dog trainers in the area I felt justified to share my experience of what happened to my 4 month old puppy at Bow Wow Fun Town. I brought my puppy to Bow Wow Fun Town for doggie day care 3 times. On our third visit I was notified by Mary (the owner) when I went to pick her up that she had gotten a "scratch" on her neck from one of the other dogs but it was no big deal. I tried to examine the "scratch" before taking her home but she was too excited to sit still at the time. I asked Mary if I should take her to the vet to have it looked at just in case. Mary was adamant that it was just a scratch and nothing to worry about. After we got home I got a better look at her neck and was horrified to see that my puppy had a very deep puncture wound. We ended up taking her to the 24 hour emergency vet. The wound was cleaned & she was put on antibiotics. The vet was very glad we brought her in. Given her age & the severity of the hole it could have gotten badly infected. The next day I called Bow Wow Fun Town to talk to Mary about what had actually happened. I ended up leaving a message with Sam who assured me that Mary would review the video & call me back. Almost a week went by and I did not get a response from Mary. I finally got in touch with her and she stated that she did not know she was supposed to call me back! She also admitted that she never personally looked at my puppy after the incident. She was just taking the word of her staff member who clearly did not look carefully at the wound either. I am just sick by the lack of any concern or accountability by Mary. I understand accidents do happen but this was negligence. read more

My dog Bentley is 16 months old & has been going to Bowwow for puppy play day & now goes for day care 2 to 3 times a month. I just learned how much they have taught him. My sister came for a month & brought her 3 very small dogs & Bentley played with them & when he would start getting to be too much all it took was a quick yell from me to stop. I was totally amazed. Just moved into the neighborhood and walked into the lobby with my very calm German Shepherd. The person who greeted me (owner?) was rude and irritated that I came in with my dog during the busy time. She has this "only one dog in lobby at a time" and how am I suppose to regulate who comes in and when. Very unwelcoming. Few days after that I saw her at a local park with two dogs. One was in a river by himself and the other was by her side watching her. She was not paying any attention to them and was too busy on her smart phone. I've used dog daycare in Seattle and at least they interact with the dogs and give them exercise when at a park. Not positively impressed with this company. Don't recommend. read more

We've been with Bowwow for over 5 years, with 2 different pups- one very old senior and one youngster now coming up on 4 years (very spoiled-swimming fiends), have talked often with many of their extremely caring and resourceful staff and I can say without hesitation that this is THE best place to leave your companion, buddy or dog "child" if you prefer when you cannot be with them yourself and want them to be in a happy place when you're away. The amount of attention, respect and all around playfulness of the personnel cannot be overstated. These folks will love your dog. They are a mom and pop business and very accountable with many amenities. It is clean, spacious and well lit from 'bow to stern'. The owner is solid, compassionate and has made this a warm place to have in the dog community. This is coming from someone who actually uses their services and considers them an extension of our Fam by way of our pup- Happy every time// and tired out! How fabulous can it get? A big doggie swimming pool, deep enough that dogs really swim, with a ramp for easy/safe exit. That's one aspect of this fun place. Next there's the dog wash stations where you can scrub your own pup. They even provide towels, aprons, ear cleaner, a wide variety of shampoos, and a tear-free face wash... and they clean up after you, woo! Then there is the indoor/outdoor play zone for daycare, where I watched pups play. One dog was barking a little but the others ignored her. Everyone was doing their thing, some snoozing, some playing. And of course they were supervised. It was a happy scene. I have no need for daycare at this time in my life but I will definitely use Bowwow if that changes in the future. One of the gals there dog sat for me a few times a while back and did an outstanding job with my 3 boys. So it's great to have someone I trust there. read more

Came back to give my dog another bath, since I needed to go in the general direction anyway. Big mistake! 1. The bath area's floor was littered with hair from some really sheddy dog. 2. It happened to be a pretty hot summer day, and it showed in this bath area. Really hot, really humid, rather uncomfortable environment to wash your dog. 3. It's 75+ degrees out, and the outdoor play environment has virtually NO SHADE! So you have dogs laying out in the sun. There was a very small kiddie pool out, but none of the dogs were in it. You'd think they'd take precaution during hot months of either A) Keeping the dogs inside, or B) Having sufficient shade for them. I'll stick with Petsmart of Masers for grooming, and will continue avoid their care facilities. read more

Like most who take their beloved family members to doggy daycare, my biggest concern is for my dogs safety, the knowledge, expertise, caring and compassion of the staff. I would absolutely NEVER leave my dog with anyone I do not think is the absolute very BEST. They love my dog, they know her behavior and personality very well, her independent needs, etc. They are very loving and attentive with all of their 'citizens'. The daycare has great energy to it. I love talking with the staff; they are all very very happy there. They take the time to talk with you and really pay individual attention to the customers/moms and dad's concerns and needs. They also don't take their eyes off of the dogs at anytime. I have not seen happier dogs at doggie daycare. The space is perfect. They have plenty of room, toys, etc. and it is extremely clean. I just know that when I leave my girl with them everyday, she has the best time ever, she has the BEST CARE ever and she is very loved by the staff. She comes home exhausted, can't wait to go back in the morning. I trust all of them completely with my girl. I wouldn't go anywhere else. In fact, I am planning on moving to Mukilteo and I will drive way out of my way to make sure my dog stays with Bow Wow Fun Towne. :) read more

I am very disappointing and sad that I had to write this review. We recently moved here and I asked my community network about the dog daycare and boarding. People recommended here so I tried. My dog went to 2 times day care before he needed boarding. It went well and people work there are very friendly and nice so I thought it will be great. He stayed 6 nights, and the 6th day, I had a phone message while I was on the plane getting back home. I finally listened the message after my plane landed. It said " I have a question about your dog so please call me back". It was 8pm, the place was closed. I called many times but just connected to the voice mail cannot leave any messages. Finally after 4-5 times I called, they called me back. And I received a bad news that my dog was bitten by the other dog. We rushed to the place, and owner ( I believe) explained to me that my dog initiated and he got bit by the others. During the conversation, there was no apology I received. To be fair, she said she tried to take my dog to her vet, but couldn't. Her final word was " I thought you said your dog is kind of jerk". We paid full amount of the services and rushed to the emergency vet. Ended up we need to go back again to do surgery since the skin tissue wound area was damaged and caused infection. My dog had stay over night at ER with the big bill..... After 4 days of the incident, I received a call from Bow wow, checking on my dog. Again, there was no apology. During the 4 days, I was really questioning about if they even/ever care about my dog who had bitten by another dog under their care. I understand my dog wanted to play and jumped on the other dog and other dog did not like it and bit him. It would be great if they have better supervision to avoid incident like this, but I understand things could happen unfortunately. The thing I do not understand is why there is no apology for the incident, no calls until 4 days after, and I still feel there is no sign of any care or empathy to my dog and me from them. I hope non of others need to experience like I had and I hope they have better communication and services to show care to the clients even in the difficult case like this. read more

As you can see by her response, Mary can be quite abrasive....to her clients, pets and even the people who work for her, which I have witnessed first hand. I do not remember being late (but it's possible), but I do remember being told a specific pick up time (which I worked my day around) I never got a follow up call letting me know that our dog would be done quite a bit earlier bc they put 2 people instead of one to clean her. To address the other issue....maybe I could have remembered a temperament test from the one or 2 times I had to do it for my dogs... but I'm not sure the client is responsible for reminding the business what they need to do in order to board at their facility? It is not my fault that the person booking the board forgot to inform me, but it was my fault for trusting in them again. read more

Not a great area for dogs to play. No grassy yard, no shady trees, no wood chips, and seems like a very unpleasant area for a dog. Especially when you take into account it's loud, smelly, and stressful because it's a new environment. I also question the decision for the location at a fairly busy intersection with loud cars, blasting music, honking horns, and lots of pedestrians. I give it two stars because the pool is great. As it gets warmer I'll just take my dog to the lake, but the pool during the cold months for them is pretty good. It's probably the one good thing about the place. Took my dog here once, won't come back. The supervisor kind of spoke to me as if I were a child and said my dog did "great". I know my dog didn't do great because she was huddled in a corner of the "play area". At least be honest and not condescending to me, ya know? If you want to socialize your dog, take them to a free dog park. Or on walks and ask people if their dog is friendly to do a quick sniff. If you want to groom your dog, you'll find better and cleaner facilities to groom. If you need daycare for your dog, just train them over time to be comfortable and well behave to stay home alone. Or see if you can find a family friend, neighbor, or worst case an overpriced dog sitter. read more

I've been taking our boxer to Bow Wow since she was a pup (over 5 years now). I can think of no better people or place to leave my dog. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. I cannot believe the lack of care or oversight during puppy social. I'm saavy enough to know you get what you pay for...its free. But the potential for vet bills after this MMA event are going to hurt. We lasted 18 minutes. In that time I saw an unaltered 5 1/2 month old 50+ lb Mountain Dog bowl over a 5 lb Pom mix. He then cornered a very submissive Lab/doodle mix who might have weighed 15 lbs wet but limp as a noodle...and she ended up folding in fear with the Mountain Dog standing over her in obvious dominance. Dominant dogs were allowed to chase down and bowl over and stand over/pin timid and submissive dogs with NO intervention. The submissive or timid dogs were TERRIFIED. Free or not I cannot support the way this was run. I don't think those timid/submissive dogs will overcome todays experience. Heartbreaking. There was NO intervention by the staff member. Many of the owners appeared to be first time owners who just didn't know... I wont be back. read more

I've driven past this place for a couple years now and finally made a stop in with my partner a few days ago. Our two dogs were in need of a bath so what better time to do so. Glad we did since we didn't know they had a dog pool. Clean environment from what we saw 3 tubs readily available Shampoos, towels, etc provided Staff seems friendly/knowledgable Great view of pool from wash area It was an easy drop in and the girl cleaned up for us. My dog is calm and well behaved. Paid the fee to have her evaluated and turned in all the documents necessary. Dropped her by for few hours. Made it clear it was only to have her socialize with other dogs. You can see your dog from the lobby by video screens. When I came back, I could see she was all alone in a room by herself. We called to make an appointment for our pup to try out daycare and the girl was very sweet and scheduled us for first thing the next morning. When we got there, the manager Mary came outside screaming at us that they are not open yet. I tried to explain that we have an appointment but she chased us out of the parking lot yelling at me and my children and our puppy. BowWow Fun Towne is the best!! We lived near Kenmore for two years and took our black lab there several times a week for daycare. We've since moved and he is in withdrawal! Mary is really, really great - she runs a tight ship so I know that our dog was well cared for there. When I was pregnant, she asked if we needed her to pick up our dog when I went into labor and board him overnight during the delivery. She OFFERED without us even having to ask!!! When it came time, she did come get him, and we were able to focus on the birth of our daughter knowing that our dog was safe and in a familiar place. Oh, and the POOL. Our dog is a lab so obviously this was his favorite part. By the time we moved away, it was just a given that we would sign him up for a swim every time he went there for daycare. We just went for a swim here and our girl had a great time. The fact that it is a great pool is the two star. The owner however, makes what should be a great fun experience terrible. She is very rude and puts a damper on the mood. We came in and we're discussing all of our shots and tests and another dog comes in from the bath. She then scolded us on how there should only be one dog in the lobby at a time. I let it pass and as we left and we're paying another dog came in and she scolded us again. We were in the lobby first and other dogs randomly coming in and we get talked down too. Can't control other people coming in. Why not talk to them. She had a whole power trip demeanor and just is a buzz killed to a fun experience for the dogs. We may be back because the indoor pool was a lot of fun, but not as much as we want given the poor service. read more

Boarded our 2 year old retriever for the first time! 2 nights. My sister usually takes care of her but was out of town. We were concerned, but not anymore. They told us exactly how she did, where she slept, how much she played etc...when we picked her up we were warned that she would be tired for a day or 2 after so much play. I, and my beagle, love Bow Wow! The staff are amazing! They all know Graham well and all of his fussy and fun quirks. They are in-tune with his moods and encourage him to socialize instead of laying on the cot all the time. Mary is especially amazing! She has stayed open late a couple of times to allow us to get our little boy after a long trip or from being stuck in traffic. She has given us Mother's Day, Father's Day, New Years and Graham Birthday gifts! Mary and the whole team really love their Bow Wow customers. The place is great, they have an amazing pool and a super store!! The webcam is addicting and the pictures on Facebook are absolutely priceless! I use Bow Wow Fun Towne for boarding and day care. My Staffie loves going to play with her friends there. The folks working there are great with dogs and you can tell they really love them. Mary works very hard to make everything as good as it can be for the dogs in her charge. My dog is very strong and high energy and I couldn't have her in my life if I couldn't drop her off at Bow wow to get her crazies out and have bath. She is returned to me clean and tired. We brought our dog to Bowwow for a couple of days a week for couple of years and thought all was well (except our dog sometimes seemed stressed after pickup). However, while at Bowwow, our dog was bitten in the back leg by another dog (our dog did not start the fight and did not bite any other dog there), which required surgery. We were told by our vet that they'd treated another dog that was bitten while at Bowwow, and that they had paid the vet bill. We approached Mary about doing so, and she refused. Even more disappointingly, she also refused to refund us the credit that we had on our account. We no longer felt the environment was safe or supportive so we will never go back. read more

Mary is the most amazing owner. She loves her dogs, she loves her owners, and she works hard for us. Each dog is approached based on its personality. Ours is middle-sized, but is happier with the small dogs, so she hangs out with them. She's so excited to go swimming, she can't control herself, so they take appropriate steps so "everybody's happy". It's not just that they are dog behavior experts, they love every dog like family. It seems like "no dog is a bad dog". Loved like family and handled smartly--that's what I want for my dog. Sometimes you just don't know how good something is until you have a comparison. I have been taking my pup here for almost two years. I swim him for an hour and then do the self wash. About once a month I also have them clip his nails (way cheaper than the vet). I go here because it's close to the house and the facility works. Or at least those were my thoughts until I was in Portland for the weekend and had to take the fur baby to a place down there. The whole place stunk of dog pee and their tiny pool had so much chlorine that my eyes were burning. Back to my review, Bow Wow is amazing in comparison. The facility is very clean. The pool is huge and actually has little to no chemicals. The self wash tubs are excellent and they have all sorts of product on hand as part of the wash. About 15 different dog shampoos, ear cleaner, facial cleaner. They provide towels, wash clothes, and the blower vacuum has attachment heads that actually blow out hair as they are supposed to. read more

It's a great place and my dog who is a little timid does great - I had him to daycare for the first time today and LOVE that they have cameras where I can check in on him. I had my dog at a great outdoor play kennel for 10 years in Denver so I have a lot of experience with these places. This place however seems to be all about nickel and dime'ing people for money. On top of their already ridiculous rates, everything is add on. They have a pool but you pay extra for swimming, they watch the dog only after a $15 "interview"? Every place I have been watched your dog for free for the day with no charge to ensure they are a good fit. Not this place, you have to pay for the privilege of potentially giving them business. Overnight drop off and pick up times are at noon only? Thanks that's so convenient for the pet sitter. Another mechanism to squeeze an extra day of fees on the front and back side of a stay. Ridiculous business model. Truly I think people here in Seattle just don't know any better and don't feel they have a lot of options. Competition would put this place out of business in a heart beat. read more

My puppy was wounded while at daycare at Bowwow Fun Towne and needed surgery to address the puncture in her side. Although Bowwow called to let us know they the puppy had been wounded (after checking all the dogs when they found some blood), the owner treated us rudely and refused to help pay for the $800 surgery, and later claimed the injury could not have happened at Bowwow. We will not send a pet to Bowwow ever again. read more

I was interested in doggie daycare so I stopped in and got the paperwork. My vet charged me $23 for the parasite check and faxing all my dog's vaccinations/medical records to this place. I called Bowow a week later to so if they received the fax. The woman I spoke to checked but told me "just because I can't find doesn't mean its not here". Okay....where do we go from her I asked and was told to call my vet and and verify (which I already did) if they sent the fax. I almost begged her for someone to call back. She took my info and assured me her "boss" would call me back. As expected, I never received a call. I've already moved on to another daycare now as I figure Bowow has enough customers and are not looking for more. So this place might be great if you're an existing customer but I would advise all new customer to just move on....I have. read more

We've been bringing our dog here since they opened. It's a primarily a place for your doggie to play, swim and socialize in a safe, well supervised area... grooming is just a extra benefit if you want to throw that in while they are there, but it's is not what they are all about. Maybe bring your dog to a groomer if that's truly all you are looking for. Mary and the staff are wonderful... they are busy playing with the dogs and taking them to the pool, and even the park so yes... sometimes their phone will ring with nobody to answer it. Doesn't bother me, because I know they are taking care of the pups. Our dog was a puppy when she started going and Mary did a great job helping our dog (and us) to acclimate quickly. Our dog loves it because she can sense that we love it... so she looks forward to going once a week. Their live web cams are great if you want to watch your dog play. Best thing is? They come home pooped and sleep soundly! I really don't care if Mary or anyone else there is a "people" person or not... they are definitely dog people, and it shows.
