We've used various boarding and in-home services in Seattle in the last 10 years. Mary and Wagtime…read moreare far and away the best. If you asked me to design the ideal situation for leaving our dogs when we travel, I couldn't come up with anything better than what Mary's got going on. We have two dachshunds, and I wouldn't describe either as being particularly easy to care for. Sophia is 14, is very slow, and is almost immobile from arthritis and a leg break from many years ago. She can't navigate even a single step, and she needs to be handled gently. Charlie is younger, but he's a bit skittish. When we got them both back after 10 days with Mary, they were happier and more energetic than when we dropped them off. They were part of Mary's family, slept and cuddled with the kids, and hung out in the yard with their family dog. Sophia's multiple medications were administered correctly, as well. Mary also texted us daily updates and photos. Just an absolute pleasure to work with, and so glad we have someone like this to trust with our dogs when we're gone.

We've had the fortune of being able to have Mary take our pup, Buttercup, on walks for the past…read morefive years. Mary has always been on time and very communicative - texting us when she's on her way to pick up Buttercup and also sending us pictures of Buttercup on her park adventures with her friends. Buttercup has also spent some time on overnights at Mary's home when we've gone out of town on trips and she has such a blast! Mary truly takes care of Buttercup as if she's her own pup. We're really sad that we can't teleport Mary over to us on the East Coast so that she can continue walking Buttercup. Maybe one day!

Just a shout out to Dog's Day Out! Not only was I a longtime customer but I was part of a guerrilla…read moresurvey group who wanted to know about doggie day cares. In both cases DDO passed with flying colors! Our initial resident husky, Cassie, became a better dog (seriously!) as a result of her time socializing and learning the rules at DDO. And all of our subsequent dogs (yup, huskies) trained to be good canine citizens with either Danette or Erika. The positive impact that these two and DDO have made on their local neighborhood is significant! In fact, so considerate of their neighbors that our first husky was not accepted for fear she'd jump the fence and escape/disturb nearby neighbors. Eventually, Cassie was accepted but watched very closely. Ironically, in my volunteer work at the Seattle Animal Shelter I have found that both Danette and Erika have made significant contributions both in person and in helping to write the training materials that guide new dog walking volunteers at SAS. And they hire like-minded, conscientious people at DDO who also give their time to Shelter dogs. Truly, these are the best people! And I say that as an approaching 70 years semi-curmudgeon-ish woman who likes dogs way better than people most of the time. Check our DDO in Ballard or Burien. I'll likely be there too, as I'm down to only one senior-ish husky.

Excellent experience with Danette. She is helping us train our sweet rescue boy who is 3 years old…read more Danette is extremely knowledgeable and we have already learned a ton after having a virtual meeting and having our first in person session. She has provided loads of information and homework too!

Joyce is amazing! My dog has had separation anxiety since I got her as a puppy during the pandemic…read more It's significantly improved since our session, and I learned so much about how to interact with my dog and lower her anxiety through training. Joyce gave me a phone consultation, then scheduled a time to meet at my home. She was very professional, friendly, and and followed all COVID safety measures. She addressed my goals during the session, and the training started before I even opened the door, helping with my dog's barking when a stranger visits. She provided thorough notes after our session, which has been valuable to reference back to. Her approach is positive training. She's incredibly informative and makes training realistic and easy to understand. You can tell she does this because she loves it and is passionate about it! She truly cares about helping people communicate well with their dogs and creating a happier home. I can't say enough great things and highly recommend her!

Joyce is an incredible trainer and a wonderful human! Shortly after bringing home my puppy Harper,…read morethere were some biting/herding behaviors that I couldn't manage on my own. During our first session, Joyce taught me the basics about dog's behaviors, my role in the relationship, and the power of positive reinforcement with training. She provides a write up after the first session that I've referred to many times in the last few months. I signed up for additional sessions and it is safe to say that Harper and I are better dogs/humans from our time with Joyce. In ~8 weeks, Joyce trained me how to train my puppy and provide the structure she needs, and taught Harper how to harness her intelligence and curiosity for good. We've both come so far, thank you Joyce! I would highly recommend Joyce to anyone.
